What our customers say about their holidays
Katie - Verified booking
We had a wonderful time at Reston Mill, it was very comfortable and a brilliant size for 10 people.
We enjoyed the hot tub and loved the giant kitchen table that everyone could eat at and the equally giant sofa that we all could share after a long day. The location was great and we were able to go to all the key tourist spots and explore the towns. Check in was easy thanks to clear instructions and we appreciated the toiletries in each bathroom. Everywhere was clean and tidy. There was a sign by the hot tub about the cleaning, but we were surprised that the hot tub cleaner came half way through our stay and didn't knock to let us know he would be cleaning the tub. We would have appreciated this being listed on the property ad before booking. We were also not aware that it meant the hot tub would not be up to temperature for the rest of our stay, rendering it unusable which was disappointing as it was one of the main reasons we'd booked the stay. We tried to speak to someone when this happened but as it was a bank holiday, we couldn't get through when we called the number listed. The salt and pepper mills were empty which we only realised once we started cooking, but we understand how this could have been missed, hopefully they will be filled for the next people. Also be careful of the single chair in the living room, it's very wobbly when you sit down on it! Otherwise, we had a great stay and would recommend this for a big group looking for somewhere restful and social after a long day exploring the Lake District.

We had a Great time at Reston Mill.
As there was 10 Adults and 2 Dogs we thought the property would be a little small, but we should not have been worried as there was enough room, and no feeling of crowding was felt. The Hot tub was great, we think it does need a better light outside. As for the general feed back, the facilities at the property are exelent, with new appliences evident, the fridge could do with a replacement allthough the back of the fridge was freezing the items inside did not seem so cold. In places the property is in need of an updating ie, some of the bedrooms to bring it up to the next star rating. Also there is an information folder in the kitchen but no basic info like, Wi Fi password, what to do to operate the hot tub, what is arround the property like shops, pubs ect. Also we did struggle to find Reston Mill as there are many Reston named properties around and when asked in the village were sent back and forth. hen all that was needed was a note to clients " if entering Danes road from the top of the village its the first driveway on the right and if entering from the bottom of the village its the last drive on the left. But we would still give the property 100% and look forward to maybe re booking. Many thanks

Took my Family as Birthday treat, Wife, three boys and 2 girlfriends, 2 dogs.
3 ample beds to fit the couples and a lovely single. Hot Tub, Barbecue, lounge conservatory Garden. So easily space to go and chill or gather. Blessed by excellent weather unusual according to locals as mostly raining leading up to our week. Dined in First evening and facilities able to cope with a large group cooking from scratch with ample seating courtesy of fine weather and Dining set in the Garden. All the young ones used hot tub at least 2 x a day and boy did they love it. Contacted owner on arrival as could not find key to garage (info needs updating on welcome pack) I was cheeky and asked for a recommendation on good Pub Grub and he didn't disappoint recommending Mason's arms which was a short drive away through some stunning scenery. Kids hooked up their x box simply don't ask me how and the availability of channels and networks was fantastic if you're not a reader. Red Deer, Rabbits, Grouse, Birds Nest in apex of house so entertainment from Cock and Hen coming and going, i even bought some bird seed. Cows in the field opposite and beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Well impressed as you can tell and this was our first foray into a cottage type holiday let. Will definitely visit again 5 Star + for us.

The house was fully up to our expectations.
It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen appliances were modern, new and worked well. The accommodation was spacious and well maintained. Unfortunately the house was let down by the garden and external facilities. The description referred to a BBQ area, but there was no BBQ. The garden furniture was dirty. A garden table was rusty and dangerous. There were only two sun loungers, both dirty and covered in leaves and mud. The garden chairs were in a similar state. The garden was also littered in dog poo. A dog seemed to be coming from the adjoining property. Moreover, the occupier of that property appeared to have permission to park on our site, directly outside our conservatory. They used the hosepipes on our property to fill their pool without comment. Empty beer bottles had been left in the external play area building and some waste in the form of cardboard boxes and empty bottles were left on the property throughout our stay. Eventually, after we complained someone came to clean the garden furniture. In summary, an excellent house let down by the garden facilities and maintenance.
