  Our recent week's stay at Foxglove, exceeded any expectations we might have had.

  We were welcomed by Denise on arrival who explained everything. Denise was the most hospitable and friendly host we have ever had the fortune of meeting! The place was spotless, beautifully decorated and we even had a lovely hamper waiting for us too. Denise even took showed us her fabulous duck pond and all the chickens, cockerels and rabbits! What a lovely lady! We had the most fabulous relaxing week. The hot tub was 5* and we'd often watch the steam train trundle by in the valley below, then there were the visits from super friendly and funny Ozzy & Casper (the doggies) Gaz the cat and the 4 friendly white ducks on our doorstep a twice a day!! We cannot wait to revisit Foxglove. It truly was a very special place and a hidden gem. Great places to visit in Whitby too, thoroughly recommend the Park & Ride. Free parking and £2.60 per person return & 10 mins on the bus. We can honestly say, we arrived at Foxglove as guests, but left as friends. Special thanks to Christopher (Denise's son) for his kindness, always being on hand and checking the hot tub every day!

  Just got back from a fantastic holiday at this location.

  Lodge was excellent all round. Very clean, very dog friendly. Loved the hot tub. Used it every evening after a long walk, and most mornings to get ourselves ready for the day. Couldn't fault what was in the lodge regarding cooking, shower facilities and the other general every day stuff. The wife and I have stayed in many caravans and lodges in our time, and this one is right up there near the top. Excellent. The site is ideally placed for Filey, Scarborough, Malton, and the Coastal paths at Flamborough. All of these were around 30 to 40 minutes away. Loved Malton, with it's great choice of shops and food outlets. I got a bit drunk from the whisky shop with it's samples. In the whisky shop, ask about the "library". Whitby is also fairly close, but is nearer the hour mark for travelling. Fabulous day at the Egton Agricultural Show. There are also some excellent smaller walks direct from the site, particularly along the Yorkshire Wolds Way. I'd be hard pressed to find any fault with the accommodation and the location at all.   The accommodation as lovely as it is and in a great setting often felt like you were on a building site.

  It is not made clear that the site is not yet completed and ongoing development continues to include tarmac surfacing to the main entrance, drilling and ongoing construction work. I had to request coat hangers as only 2 were in the wardrobe- the owner was prompt at providing lots more the following day. The seal in the shower was faulty so we were not able to use this, again I informed the owner of this. Lighting on the site is poor at night and the current lighting doesn’t seem adequate, we arrived at night and really struggled navigating the lodge in the dark. It would also have been helpful to have bins closer to the lodges - the current arrangements are at the entrance gate. This site was great for accessing the park and ride service which is a 5 minute walk away. The lodges are well equipped and clean and it is nice that dogs are welcome. I would like to revisit when the site is fully complete - the views and scenery are stunning and from our lodge we could see Whitby Abbey a good base for a break near Whitby.

  The Pheasantry was absolutely beautiful!

  Modern with a vintage look to it. The owners (Steph and Nick) were very nice and were quick to help you if you had any enquires. They also provided us with some free chocolate chip cookies on arrival ;) The location was out of the way and very relaxing, however, it was still easy to access the nearby shops. The only two things I can comment on negatively is that when arriving at the cottage, I looked in the plug hole of the shower and it was full of someone else’s hair. The other thing is that they do not provide you with a washing machine which would of been really handy but wasn’t a major problem. I know the owners get in a cleaner to clean these holiday homes so this is not their fault but the cleaners. We really really enjoyed our stay here and I would defiantly recommended to families and couples who want a nice stay.

  This was a lovely cottage full of furnishings of a beautiful standard.

  The beds might be a little firm for some but we were all very comfortable on them. A few suggestions for future consideration would be an indoor sweeping brush, replacement airer as there are parts missing from the current one, access to a washing machine and a small freezer. Please note that this did not distract the enjoyment of our holiday at all but would've been useful. Being in the country it was a great base to explore the Yorkshire Coast so we filled our days visiting the surrounding coastline and pretty inland villages. Although the owners live next door they are respectful of the holiday cottages privacy but on hand should you need assistance. I would highly recommend The Pheasantry at Riggs Head Farm, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you for a lovely holiday.
