What our customers say about their holidays

It is a lovely lodge, it is well equipped with all you need, plus a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and coffee pods for the coffee machine and tea, milk and sugar to have a welcome brew.
The fridge and freezer is large to stock up with beer, food and ice, and a dishwasher so no need to wash up! The bedroom and ensuite is large with plenty of storage and a TV in the bedroom. There is plenty of space in the kitchen and living area. The hot tub is private however there are chairs and table on the balcony so you can dry off and enjoy the view and ducks. Overall the lodge is clean and kitchen utensils spotless, there were a couple of cobwebs on the bedroom window, and the tap in the second toilet is a leak as there is calcium/lime scale around it. The site is close to the main road/train track, although you drive around to get to get to it, there isnât any noise. The Croft is lovely for food, Wednesday is steak night and Thursday date night, after reading the last comment we booked but it was never full on the 3 nights we went, Saturday was busiest night, and Sunday lunch you have to book. The site is less than 3 miles from, Morrisons,Tescoâs and Lidl and Battlefield farm shop a mile down the road, the falconry there, is worth a visit as well. Shrewsbury is a great town to visit, and the park-and-ride is really good £2 per person on the bus return. We also visited Ludlow and Powis castle and garden which are both around 50 minutes drive. Overall great stay and would love to return

We had the most wonderful time at this stunning cottage!
The place is beautifully finished, and has kept its lovely authentic feel. The dog-friendly pub is a mile down the end of lane from the cottage, so a nice easy walk and there is a little shop attached that is like an Aladdins cave. All the locals were really friendly and welcoming. The rear yard where the hot tub is, is fully enclosed so our dogs could be out with us whilst we bathed, and it was very private and not overlooked. I would highly recommend taking wood with you, the shop has it for a good price but they did run out over the weekend. We found some fab walks right from the doorstep , meaning you can stop in the pub for a few drinks after and warm on their lovely fire. The hot tub is fantastic after a day walking, it did take us about 24 hours to get up to temp as it was pretty cold outside, we then just lit the fire in the morning and found it to be the right temperature in the evening. The cottage has great facilities, and everything you could want. We will Definitely be back. Ps. Take some bird seed to feed the stunning birds that you can watch from the windows. Bliss

We have had a lovely weekâs holiday at Lower Lodge, the house is very central to the many different areas to explore, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Powys Castle NT, Attingham Park NT.
The house is spacious and very comfortable with every facility provided for our stay. The TV in the lounge was a great surprise, it was massive and great for family viewing. WiFi signal was good and we were able to stream with only occasional buffering. The kitchen is well equipped and the addition of a drinks fridge in the games room was a real bonus. The garden is amazing with a large patio with a dining area, a lounge area and an amazing hot tub. There is a brick built area to hold disposable bbqs. The games room with a pool table was great fun as was the table tennis & dart's board. The owners were very responsive to any queries that we had and on hand if you needed any assistance. Thank you Mark & Lisa we love your house. The only slight negative was the house is very close to the road which was busier than we expected and you could hear traffic noise. This did not detract from our great experience, but worth being aware of. The house and gardens surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend it for a great family holiday.

It was a let down to realise there was no Wifi in the cabin.
I bought breakfast to cook in the cabin but Iâd forgot butter for toast Iâd searched the kitchen to find there not even the miniature butters available. Iâd asked the gentleman who looks after the park if there was butter I could use on site he said no Iâd have to travel to the spar shop which was inconvenient. The bed was comfortable however did not smell fresh. The bathroom sink had few hairs on so it was evident cleaners hadnât deep cleaned the bathroom properly prior to arrival and bathrobes were not available. We could not use the restaurant on site for breakfast lunch or dinner because we was told all fully booked. You would think the site would cater for every person on site but clearly this wasnât the case therefore we had to eat out on both nights. Inconvenient. £3 fee per person to swim in the indoor heating swimming pool - ridiculous. This site was not worth the price at all - let down.

The property was very welcoming and comfortable.
The owners had made it even more homely by putting up Christmas decorations. It was just perfect for us to all meet and share a wonderful family Christmas. It was like a home from home. Nice and cosy as heating is left on all the time. Mark was quite right when he said âit was our home for the weekâ when he met with us. Decor was good. It was clean and spacious with plenty of things to do. Hubby was so pleased to have a comfortable bed! Lots of walks locally but you need to drive to them. The quite busy road adjacent to the bungalow has no pavement to walk along. Would like to visit in the summer to enjoy the outdoor facilities and spacious well kept garden. Thank you for the wine and chocolates. Itâs also perfect for those who like to star gaze. Never seen such a wonderful display of stars on the two clear nights when we were there. A really relaxing stress free week and would thoroughly recommend.
