  I have published this review on Google maps as a local guide: Absolutely fantastic place to stay.

  The beautifully decorated pods are clearly a labour of love for the owners Jo and Sion who were also really friendly and helpful during our stay. They have everything you need from the basics like cooking equipment, towels etc to the not so basic like local guide maps, LED candles for romantic evening and nice thoughtful touches like leaving a torch hanging by the door for if you need to go out at night. They are also awesome for the modern traveller like me and my wife with USB ports for phone charging, WiFi, Amazon fire TV and even built in voice assistant (Fantastic for getting your favourite music playing for cooking and relaxing!). The views behind the pods are stunning and worth a wander out to with your morning coffee. The grounds are nice to wake up to and have hammocks which are lovely on a nice day. They are a little intimidating to get to first attempt (a small price to pay for having such a secluded retreat) but my advice is believe Google maps even when you start thinking "this can't be right"!   The Cosy Cabin is an absolute Gem!

  The pictures are beautiful yes, but to be there and witness it first hand they just don't do it justice! It's been an absolute sanctuary to come home to after our crazy adventures of days out Gorge walking, Kayaking, Zip lining beach days and the beautiful Caernarfon Castle and nearby beach towns and gorgeous pub lunches. The views from the Cabin inside and out are absolutely breathtaking. The gorgeous lush woodland in front, the mountains either side. The Sea in the distance. Plus our neighbours for the week the cows in our' field were a joy to watch. They even let us feed them some grass! They were excellent entertainment for our young son who loved to also feed and pass them the hard to reach wild flowers growing just out of reach of the ones they had already devoured. We have never stayed anywhere with such beauty all around us! We are already re gigging next years plans to get an extra trip back here. The owners should be extremely proud of this place and what they have done with it! I will be recommending to all our friends and family ✨️❤️

  We had a great weekend.

  Fantastic location, quiet and peaceful. Lots of beaches nearby to explore with our dogs. Cabin (wooden cladded caravan) VERY small, bedroom and bathroom particularly cramped for 2 adults of average size. Double mattress has been placed on a smaller bed frame making it impossible to open the wardrobe doors and felt like sleeping on a jelly. Very difficult to manoeuvre around each side of the bed. Had to cut off some brambles to enable us to negotiate entrance door and laurel hedge badly in need of a trim. Overall inside was neat and tidy but in need of a bit of a polish. Some blinds were broken or missing completely. There was a BBQ but no utensils! Which didn’t stop us from BBQing, just had to improvise with kitchen cutlery (not ideal). No kitchen tea towels but other linen of good quality. We really enjoyed our short stay mainly due to the outdoor space, location and good weather but sadly we won’t be coming back. Compared with other similar properties in the area consider this to be very overpriced.

  Very peaceful and comfortable stay at the Shepards Hut Retreat.

  It was a wonderful place to be - within beautiful surroundings together with a fully equipped kitchen and clean bathroom toilet area, with plenty of hot water. Field is very well kept by roy's grass cutting. The bed and linen was dreamy with lovely comfortable pillows. All the little things are provided solar light, usb charging point and wood stove accessories. The folks at the farm next door are a quiet private family, they also provide free range eggs, homemade apple juice and wood for the stove in the shed via an honesty box. Beautiful starry canopy overhead unhindered by light pollution together with the resident cow and calf family overlooking the perimeter fence, this place is a little piece of heaven of grid. Rest and simplicity with a nod to the American home ranch. Stay you wont be disappointed. Vanessa and Bo

  Overall it was a lovely stay and great location/ surroundings in the hamlet of Gwaenysgor.

  Enough space for us both with our two beagles but we were received to have had such good weather so we were able to utilise both indoor and outdoor spaces. Dogs were mostly able to run round the whole plot with a few exceptions where they chose to go under or over some gaps. Inside was lovely but some attention to detail with more hooks and bigger shelves would help alot. Under bench storage was well used. Some small issues regarding a loose bathroom door handle and cleaning of windows would have made it perfect. One issue we had was more options for rubbish, glass and recycling would have helped but we had to just leave glass bottles out next to the single general waste wheelie bin. Overall we would absolutely recommend this location and we'd consider returning in the future. Thanks Jonathan
