What our customers say about their holidays
Brenda - Verified booking
The caravan was dirty and cold the oven was filthy, crumbs on toaster and table.
radiator in sitting area not working electric fire wouldnât stay on long enough to heat area. Ad stated internet available this was a major selling point for someone traveling with special need child.owner brought in a dongle it wouldnât connect she said the site had problems however talking with other guest they were all working. ad said towels supplied there was one face towel on each bed 1 tea towel we had yo go buy towels. dvd player didnât work loud Electrical buzzing sound when switched on couldnât be used .Doors donât close due to carpet been thrown down not trimmed or fitted properly. would have been nice to know we were so close to train line got no sleep.we had to eat out as cooker and oven were filthy with grease even after i had cleaned it couldnât bring myself to actually cook there nor sit in the ice cold area to eat. We had to cut the holiday short leaving early hours Wednesday as the children were very unsettled at this caravan. we have never at anytime been in a caravan that was in this condition it should not be let out until all the necessary work is complete and caravan made safe and comfortable there was not any PAT tickets on any electrical items. Outside decking has not been cleaned since possibly last season mould growing. bbq rusty uncovered unfit for use. Owner said we were second hire of season disgraceful condition I cannot recommend this caravan. We lost 3 days holiday due the the terrible condition of this property not at all what we expected from a sykes booking We took a couple of photos on arrival as we couldnât believe what we had walked into This could be a nice caravan but requires quite a bit off maintenance to make it like the ad. also the ad needs to reflect what you are actually getting I accept things can go wrong however this was not right from start.

We had a great time in Wales and all the extras in the cabin was great and very much appreciated (games, books, kitchen accessories etc) the owners have gone above and beyond with this but the cabin itself needs some diy.
The door handles were really loose and I feared they might come off and lock one of us in a room! The hot tub cover needs replacing as itâs become waterlogged and smells awful! This combined with no daily testing of the water left the tub unusable after a couple of days use despite us showering prior to use. We know the water quality is important being a hot tub owner ourselves but this was never checked and nothing left for us to check ourselves which was disappointing! The bed downstairs was really uncomfortable we could feel every spring and was very snug for 2 adults! The sofas in lounge could also do with being replaced - obviously these are pieces of furniture thatâs being used all the time so itâs understandable that they felt well used but it just gave the cabin a very tired feel and we didnât get a good nights sleep any night which was a shame. The kids had the upstairs rooms which seemed fine and the added little games room was a big hit but unfortunately the wifi is pretty much non existent, it connects to the cabin but not to the internet so anyone relying on this would have trouble. Fortunately we werenât worried about the wifi. Just basic tv aswell although itâs got sky we couldnât watch any movies or certain sky tv channels as needed a pin which wasnât given!

Very traditional caravan with plenty of room.
Provided with all the facilities one should need. Cooker, microwave, televisions, central heating, static heater and great internet access. The furnishings were brilliant. The washing facilities were good a small en-suite in the main bedroom and shower room in corridor. I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and flow of the shower although it was a bit difficult to turn fully off. As advertised it is near a railway track. This isnât some quaint Welsh mountain system. It carries local commuting trains and Express trains. I like trains and wasnât bothered about the rate of traffic. I donât think it is 24 hr a day but not far off. Anyone considering a stay should bear this in mind. The site management receptionists were very polite and friendly. There are joint facilities nearby by. The accommodation had a good stock of cutlery, plates and glasses. Because we stayed in a colder time I would ideally have liked the premises warmed through and aired immediately prior to arrival. We enjoyed our stay and felt the price was competitive. Clean campsite where you can exercise dogs locally and easy access to the beach via a bridge. Great place

We booked this as a last minute short break to visit family.
Nice location and holiday park; loved the pool on the one day it was sunny enough to use it! Let down by an overwhelming smell of damp throughout the property. The inside of drawers & cupboards smelt very strongly of damp, for example in the kitchen glasses had to be washed before using to get rid of the smell and I didnât unpack as I didnât want my clothes to smell of it. We did leave windows and doors open all time we were in, but it didnât help. There were air fresheners but they just masked the smell and faded quickly. No extraction fans in bathroom or kitchen. Generally poor cleaning throughout, lots of dirt and dead bugs in corners, shower didnât drain very well, clearly not been properly cleaned in a long time, this was the end of the school summer holidays. Beds were comfortable but let down by really cheap duvets and covers. There was a 2 seater sofa (not very comfortable) and 2 small armchairs, would be a real squeeze for 6 people. No hairdryer. Has everything else youâd need for a short break and would be lovely if cleaned and the damp sorted out.

We are familiar with the lodge as we stayed at The Orchard for several years prior to it being sold .
The accommodation afforded by the lodge was ideal for two adults and our big. Anymore and I think it would have felt crowded . Just couple of negatives there is no cupboard available to put food in eg tins of tomatoes soup cereal boxes as all cupboards filled with cooking utensils . Some of the towels had seen better days never didnât use had what doorsteps to be hair dye staining. On stripping the bed the duvet was stained and had seen better days. We replaced the batteries in the tv remote . Would be an idea to have some in a drawer for such an event. Location of the fuse box needs to be made to future residents as we had a trip in the electric the first morning and struggled to find it . I had to phone Annette the management lady . Apart from niggles we had a good week but think the fencing around the lodge needs replacing as itâs rotting in parts . The gate drive has a panel of roof missing leaving a hole hence making garden not dog proof. A stray dog appeared on the lawn which was shooed off but managed to leave a present in the drive !!!!
