  We have had a wonderful two weeks at The Smokehouse. The weather has been great, although a little too warm at times! It was lovely to sit in the garden as it was nice and cool in the shade. We have loved the view from the bedroom and enjoyed seeing sheep, stars, the setting sun and the circling fighter planes! Breakfast in the garden is so relaxing. Lisa gave us some great tips for beaches to visit and historic houses. We went to Kings Lynn for some shopping and ended up doing the historic trail and seeing some beautiful buildings. Sandringham is a must as is their ice cream, the vanilla is some of the best I've ever had! Wolferton is also a must if you like Royalty/ trains/ old buildings- you can go on the old platform when the gate is open. You are spoilt for beaches; Holme, Wells, Brancaster and Holkham are fantastic and Old Hunstanton when the Tide is out is a nice walk too. We have seen some amazing sunsets. Holkham Hall, Castle Rising, Castle Acre priory and Blickling are all lovely houses and estates. One of our favourite things is driving past Norfolk Lavender, the smell is amazing- especially on Lidl carpark! We haven't done half the things we wanted to do especially when you drive along and spot somewhere with a lovely view and stop off. We will definitely be back. Ths Smokehouse is a great place to stay, close to everything but remote enough to feel relaxed and away from it all. Lisa is a wonderful host and we couldn't have wishes for a better holiday.   A really beautiful property in the equally beautiful setting of the Holkham estate. The apartment was on the first floor so has lovely views and was cosy and warm. Very good range of coffee table style books left for us to read, a TV and a few board games. Spotlessly clean and modernized inside. All the equipment you would need for a short stay and reasonable storage. The bedroom vanity area had a mirror and plugs in all the right places for hairdryer etc. Very comfy bed but a bit short for a tall husband! The kitchen was well equipped with good quality items including an air fryer, coffee machine and microwave. The Holkham toiletries were from Holkham estate and really lovely. The owners also left a parking permit for the estate and a discount card for the shops. There was a wine shop behind the property which had a huge range and also gifts, and the country outdoor wear shop was equally well stocked with good quality items. Plenty of secure parking around the properties. The Victoria opposite is lovely although we didn't visit on this occasion we had been before and recommend it. Holkham beach is only a short walk down the road too. We would definitely consider staying in one of the properties again when in Norfolk and would recommend this property.

  No.33 Cottage 2 is beautifully decorated and very comfortable to stay in. It is very well-equipped, with a small but very functional kitchen/breakfast bar area. I think the kitchen has underfloor heating as the tiles were very toasty on our feet! The lounge area is comfortable, with a big squishy sofa and armchair to laze in after your long walk on the beach! The garden has a bistro table and chairs to enjoy a drink in the sun. The bed is very comfy and massive! The bathroom was beautiful and I loved having the large walk-in shower. The only issue that was slightly annoying was that you could hear traffic noise especially if the bedroom window was open, but it didn't really bother us too much. I think this would be a great location to rent with a group as you could all have separate cottages but be next to each other as there are 4 cottages in the terrace. Thornham is a great location to explore the North Norfolk Coast, plus you have the Deli over the road (where you can park) and Eric's Fish and Chips just up the road (amazing!) We would definitely stay here again.

  We loved everything about our stay at Carrstone cottage. Booking was simple, with plenty of information provided in the lead up to our start date. Communication with the owners was quick and easy. Hand over gave us opportunity to meet with the owner who was friendly and welcoming and provided us with plenty of information about the cottage (it's equipment) and the area (eating options, days out etc). There were a number of little touches included to welcome both us and our dog. The property was beautiful, mashing the old and traditional, with modern practicality. Really clean and nicely finished. The garden was perfect to enjoy an evening meal and drink. The village has a shop and pub, the pub serves excellent meals with fab staff. The property is in a great location, 10 minutes from Sandringham, 30 minutes from Hunstanton beach and Oxburgh Estate, and within an hour of half a dozen more wonderful days out (Wells Next The Sea, Blakeney Nature reserve, Brancaster etc) If we visit Norfolk again we would definitely look to return to Carrstone Cottage.

  Fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. Every comfort you could need is catered for. The new extension blends the old & new with style. The garden is very pretty & much enjoyed by us and our Dachshund Bert. The beds were super comfortable and we all slept well in the peaceful location. Grimston is a lovely little village with walks from the cottage door and a great local Pub serving tasty food. Many places to visit most within a thirty minute drive some of our favourites being Holt, Wells next the Sea,and Sunny Hunny ! We also used the local bus into Kings Lynn for a day off driving which was quite amusing with a dog who didn't like anyone getting off the bus ! We were spoilt for choice when eating out as North Norfolk is well served with some fantastic Pubs & Tea rooms . We heartily recommend Byfords in Holt & Bang in Wells for lunch. Also enjoyed a fish & chip supper on our last night from the Van that visits the village, very tasty and excellent value for money. Many thanks again to Alison & Gary and we hope to come back soon.
