What our customers say about their holidays

I'll start with the pros as I don't want to be too negative, the beds & sofas were lovely & comfortable, there were plenty of towels, storage, hooks, crockery & glassware.
The back yard got sun all day & there was a washing line, pegs & clothes prop which was brilliant. There was also an outside tap which was great for washing sandy wellies off. The house was only a short walk from the harbour, & only a short walk from a good pub serving food & a lovely little micro bar, both dog friendly, The neatives were that the cleaning left a lot to be desired, there were cobwebs & dust behind the TV, & the ledges on the doors were all very dusty. A strange thing that we've always had when ever we've stopped in self catering before, there was no hand wash in the bathroom, only hand gel! Also only 2 toilet rolls to last a week!! Surely the cleaner should also know that the toilet brush is broken!? Also one of the garden chairs was rotting away, one of the lats on the seat had broken. The freezer needed defrosting, & the welcome pack that contained a scourer, thin dish cloth, dishwasher tablets (No dishwasher!), the tiniest bottle of washing up liquid & 2 bin bags was a waste of time. The owner must spend a lot of money providing these, they would be much better off leaving a normal bottle of WUL, a roll of bin bags & a scourer. I think they have recently put a new kettle & toaster in the kitchen as there were old ones in the cupboard, be careful with these, the kettle leaks water everywherewhen you try & pour it & with the toaster you have to tuen the setting button to 0 to cancel as it doesn't have a cancel button. Also in the back bedroom there is a trailing socket near the bed, be careful for falling over it. All in all a lovely little place to stay, if the cleaner & handyman did a better job it would be brilliant

We live only an hour away by the coast but fancied a few days' break exploring the Kielder area.
Granary Cottage proved to be the perfect base. A meticulously planned and implemented conversion of old farm buildings, the cottage offers warmth, comfort and very spacious accommodation for up to four people (it would be ideal for two couples). It offers impressive and well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with proper seating for four, and two generous bedrooms with smart en-suites that would put many top hotels to shame. Spotlessly clean on arrival and nice to be left a welcome basket with local treats. The hosts were so friendly and, despite being busy on the farm, were always happy to chat and recommend local places to visit and places to eat. The cottage is ideally placed for visits to many of Northumberland's top attractions. An all round five-star experience. Thank you!

I was left by both Sykes and the owner for 24 hours without cooking facilities.
The owner even came round to see the fault, she was aware of how much food we had as we were cooking an early Christma lunch Saturday lunchtime also we had a fridge/freezer food of party snacks that we were cooking on Saturday evening. The owner of the beautiful cottage saw the amount of food that we had that couldn't be cooked. We lost this food plus we were made to spend more money on eating out. This was cruel, unprofessional, disrespectful and not acceptable!! The owner Nikki also advised us that she was going out for dinner with friends who were sat outside in her car waiting for her - she could have offered to contribute towards a takeaway or eating or perhaps getting an electian out although having said this - she simply didn't care

Great location within the village for all shops cafes takeaways etc .
Within a 25 mile radius to explore Hadrian's wall , national trust properties and Kielder forest with the coast a little further. The cottage is a true home from home with every detail covered and I have tried to find a way that it could be improved or to find anything lacking but it is perfect in every way .The most friendly welcome from Margaret and knowing support was on hand just across the road if needed. We have stayed in some very good 5 star properties over the years but this is not enough for this property and maybe some extra way to identify a superiority experience is required.

A beautifully presented holiday home.
Charming decor It was spotlessly clean they had thought of everything that you could wish for. Plentiful supply of tea bags and sugar as well as washing up liquid and soap A delightful backyard great for having a meal outside. The bed was amazingly comfortable and wonderful quality bed linen and towels. My only tiny niggle is that there were no phone charging points ,or a socket for an electric razor. Some of the sockets upstairs were too low down. I really donât like moaning about the sockets We had a great stay and I am sure we will come again
