  We’ve stayed at several properties in the Sarah’s View area through Original Cottages and I’m sorry to say that this one wasn't to our standards. The living room area was absolutely fine and the kitchen adequate, however the microwave and clothes airer needs attention, it was unclear whether the washing machine had a dryer function. Upstairs however there was a musty smell, we found the double mattress uncomfortable, the bedside lighting only worked on one side in the double room, we felt the sheets felt cheap and scratchy like hospital sheets, the shower head leaked and therefore the pressure was low, and the toilet began blocking as soon as we arrived. We were grateful for the rapid fix of the blocked toilet. We won’t be returning to this particular property though.

  The furniture (sofa and outdoor table and chairs) were not as as shown on the pictures. Both were very uncomfortable. The wardrobes and drawers upstairs are very difficult to open as they keep sticking. The outside area is neglected, hadn’t been swept or weeded for some time and loads of cobwebs. Inside the property was clean so no complaints about that. Also would be good to have thicker/blackout curtains as the current ones don’t block out any light in the mornings. Kitchen is brilliantly equipped and the crockery/glassware is great. Location is fantastic, just a short walk down into Padstow.

  Samphire is well equipped and in an excellent location. We really enjoyed our stay in Padstow, there’s so many great places to eat and lots to explore on your doorstep. We parked in the main car park which was really reasonably priced for the week and only a minute or two walk to car from cottage. We felt that the cottage was good value for money and would be perfect for either two couples or a family of four. We really loved the two en-suite bathrooms. The house was well equipped and comfortable and spacious.

  Lovely location in Padstow and it was great having some outside space. The sitting room is beautifully light filled and we enjoyed coming back at the end of the day to relax here. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped that we enjoyed cooking in on most nights, with great fresh produce available in Padstow itself. The bedrooms were really comfortable and it was perfect having two ensuite bathrooms. I would definitely stay at Samphire again, and look forward to returning to Padstow in the future.

  This was our first visit to Padstow having previously visited Dartmouth each year. Padstow did not disappoint for atmosphere and places to visit. Booking through Cornish Horizons was straightforward and quick confirmation and details on finding the property and collecting keys were comprehensive and clear to follow. Follow up after leaving personal property at the cottage was also efficiently dealt with. We will be back and booking with Cornish Horizons again. Thank you.
