  Myself & Hubby have just spent the most wonderful hot sunny week (9th-16th July 2022) at Rookery Hall hosted By Debbie & Ian.

  The accommodation was/is spectacular and has everything and more you could possibly wish for to make it a 5 star stay. The location was ideal for walk's with many places of interest to visit, Its on the Cotswold way with Broadway Tower, Snowshill Manor, Snowshill Lavender to name a few all just short walks away, and of course the so many beautiful villages to explore just short drives away makes it a wonderful base, or just stay and soak up the beautiful idyllic countryside and make the most of the peace & quiet. Debbie & Ian quite happy to leave you to your own devises for the duration of your stay but are also on hand if you do need anything. The thing that made our stay even more enjoyable was that fact that the property is part of a working farm (none of which interferes with your accommodation) it was lovely to see the hay making process, we got to know the family, their lovely working dogs & the history of the farm from talking to the nicest family you could wish to meet. We were sorry to leave but left feeling we had made some lovely friends and would definitely recommend Rookery Hall to anyone who enjoys a bit of the good life with a down to earth approach. We've stayed in many lovely cottages up & down the country over the years, as we always want to try somewhere new, but this place made us feel so welcome.   An unexpected extended stay at Little Shrublands has been one of delights. The cottage was a cosy nest for work remotely for me and college/uni classes remotely for my daughter. Everyday included the Blockley cafe (the pastries! dinner!!) and store, 2 - 4 hours of hiking and lovely interactions. People make a place, so Nick and Sue's friendliness next door, the staff at various eateries, the shared joy at a town wedding - all helped enliven our visit. We hiked to Broadway Tower, Batsford Park and Bourton-on-the-Hill and around the town including Draycott as well as the Bourton woods. every direction better than the last just cover your legs for stinging nettles in the fields. Appreciated all the books on town, we needed them them all. Also appreciated the bus system for expanding our ability to get home after long hikes. Many thanks.

  The house is amazing but the setting wasn't what we expected.

  We discussed this with the owner but not much could be done once there. The garden wasn't private, situated between the owners and father's house and exposed anytime outside. No privacy screening shrubs, which could have made the side garden private instead of overlooking the owner's driveway.. As a working farm, there was lots of machinery noise and coming and goings of trucks, utes, atvs, JCB's, which meant is wasn't very peaceful. Didn't expect to have to share the driveway with the father Also didn't expect the clay shooting group of 10 plus to be in the garage adjacent for most of the day. As there is an interconnecting door into the main lounge, we were disturbed by all the noise most of the day. I think these things should be put into the listing so renters can make an informed choice about whether the situation suits them.

  Lovely break in a beautiful cottage, very clean, well furnished, well equipped and extremely well kept. Felt very homely, truly a home from home feel about it. The moment we walked through the door, made a cup of tea and sat down we knew we were going to enjoy our relaxing stay….. and we did! No doubt about it, we would happily recommend this cottage and it’s owner and we will be returning for another relaxing stay in the future. Wish we could have stayed another week! Agreed. Had a fab time. I've never stayed in such a beautifully fitted out cottage. Thefixtures, fittings, colour scheme and lovely features e.g. Emma Bridgewater radio - it's those lovely added touches that make this cottage both special memorable.....and the lovely scent of the reed diffusers too! Thank you.
