Lovely cottage near Crickhowell, an ideal base for those looking to explore the area.. Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: With wood burner and Smart TV.
Snug: With TV.
Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.
Utility room: With fridge, freezer and washing machine.
Shower room: With shower cubicle and toilet.. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With zip and link twin beds (can be super kingsize on request).
Bedroom 3: With single bed.
Bedroom 4: With single bed.
Bathroom: With bath and walk-in shower (no toilet). Separate toilet.. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Stairgate. Welcome pack. Initial logs for wood burner included.. Enclosed garden with patio, sitting-out areas, BBQ and garden furniture. Bike/equipment store. Parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Dardy Cottage has been renovated to a very good standard in 2020 and is located in the village of Dardy. The historic town of Crickhowell is 15 minutes’ walk, (¾ miles) from Dardy Cottage. The village of Llangattock is just 5 minutes’ walk, and has several pubs offering food. Crickhowell was named in 2019 as the best place to live in Wales by the Sunday Times, and also best high street in Britain in 2018. There is an array of amenities there including boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the ’Green Man’ during August.
The town of Abergavenny is 7 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. Abergavenny is also host to an annual food festival in September.
Brecon is just 15½ miles away from Dardy Cottage and has lots of places of interest, such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, south Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The annual Crickhowell Walking festival provides a range of guided walks.
Dardy Cottage is close to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and the Usk Valley Walk National Trail, which run through the village, offering easy access on foot and bike to local attractions and Sustrans cycling routes. The cottage enjoys an enclosed garden with several seating areas and panoramic views across the Usk valley.
