What our customers say about their holidays

Arrived at Marsh View for a four night stay on 7th October, from the moment we arrived and was welcomed by the owner and her two delightful dogs. Our stay here has been relaxing and peaceful. With fantastic views overlooking the river and marshes. The property is in excellent order and well equipped with all mod cons. The welcoming hamper of basic food bread, milk eggs, cereal etc is a very nice touch. All little things to make you feel welcome. The property is Set well back from the main road into Aldeburgh with no traffic noise. For the energetic a must, is the walk from the premises to Snape Malting around 4 miles following a well marked footpath through woodland, heather and wonderful views over the countryside along the way. Arriving at Snape Malting and in need of refreshments and lunch this was taken at the Café 1885 on the first floor. We both ordered the sea food platter which was delicious an excellent choice. After lunch we strolled around the many retail outlets. All the staff we encountered here were very friendly and helpful. Time was approaching 16:30 walking back to March View was out of the question, which would mean returning in the dark. Phoned for a local taxi which arrived within 15 mins to take us back to March View. The next day was spent exploring Aldeburgh sea side town, a stroll along the beach with its many huts selling freshly caught fish. quaint houses and unusual shops. We stopped for lunch at the Lighthouse restaurant in the high street which had been highly recommended to us. The food and choice on offer are is excellent. Our four day break soon came to a end. However, Iâm sure we will be back again soon to explore this part of the world again. Thank you for making us feel at home. We will return.

Kendoon Cabin was lovely, it was so remote and there is no light pollution, you could see the stars. The hot tub takes a bit of work, it wasn't filled for us which has we known that we would have got there earlier to do this as it takes a while. A couple of housekeeping things, there was dog mess round the side of the cabin near to the tap for the hot tub. Luckily we didn't step in it but not very pleasant, the chairs and blankets were also covered in dog hair which was a bit annoying. I understand you allow pets but I would expect there to be no trace of them for the next guests. We were also left a sponge and dish cloth, the sponge was well used. Given how much money we spent to stay there I would expect a new sponge and most of the dishes/cutlery were dirty, again it is the responsibility of the user to do the dishes but I would have expected housekeeping to double check the details. These small things just knocked the shine off the place a little. We still had a wonderful time but was left a little disappointed by the standard of housekeeping not being met.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed linen and towels were of a high quality and the apartment was very well equipped with everything you might need for the stay. It was in a very quiet location even though it was quite close to the main road into Aldeburgh. The views from the living room and bedroom were lovely and we were lucky that the weather was very nice so we took advantage of sitting in the beautiful front garden. The only negative is that the apartment is described as being within walking distance of Aldeburgh High Street. This is misleading as it is two miles along the busy Saxmundham Road with no footpath in places. This meant that we had to drive every evening into town to eat/drink which is not ideal if you have already been driving in the daytime. On the plus side there were several lovely walks close by to the apartment, in particular the Sailors Path which was only a hundred yards from the entrance to the property. We would definitely recommend Marsh View and hopefully will return next year.

Everything I hoped for and more If you love a shepherd's hut, you will be no stranger to compromise.
Not here!! From the double barn door entrance, the big comfy bed, full size breakfast bar, oven and fridge, to the underfloor heating, radiators, hot shower and big fluffy towels, everything is superbly thought out. The ample, fully enclosed garden is perfect for dogs, the view is beautiful and the remote, peaceful location is idyllic. The welcome hampers are always a lovely touch and at Utopia I found it was exceptionally generous. I spent a week here working and relaxing in equal measure. The WiFi and phone signal is super reliable. I even logged in to my Netflix account for a cosy movie in bed on the swivel mounted tv. Freshingfield dog park is just a 12- minute drive away if you need an enclosed space to wear your canine companion out, off lead. A great winter get away from the hustle of everyday life and I would love to return in the spring/summer without the work laptop, to explore the area on foot. In summary and in comparison to my experience of similar properties, Utopia is a cut above.
