What our customers say about their holidays

We really enjoyed our stay at Poet's corner.
It is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The underfloor heating throughout the ground floor was very pleasant - on the verge of too hot even, but fairly easy to turn down - though that was because I knew how these type of things worked, I didn't come across any instructions. The kitchen had everything you could need including tea towels, oven gloves, washing up kit etc. I'd been really organised and brought my own as this isn't aways the case! But it was nice that they were there. The wifi was good enough to stream films over christmas, the location in Bourton was really good, just round the corner from the centre. And having a second sitting room was really nice when you wanted a bit of alone time. We were slightly concerned about the church bells. However i can report that they can't be heard at all in the two first floor bedrooms, only the second floor one, and they were not loud enough to wake you, but you would hear them if you were awake. I really liked them actually. The only negatives were the top bedroom was meant to have a king size bed but it was two singles pushed together (maybe zip and link, not sure), which wasn't as described and the person who used it really didn't want to be in a single bed. The listing should be updated to reflect this. Also the way the twin beds are set up, the bedroom door could not be closed. I had to push the bed by the door to a 30 degree angle to get the door to shut. This might be OK for a children's room but for two adults it would not be great. As I was in there on my own, it wasn't too bad. The shower on the first floor was very pleasant but as it was a waterfall shower it was difficult to use if you weren't washing your hair, which my elderly father wasn't too keen on. It would have been nice to have a second smaller shower head that could be removed from the wall as well. And the shower on the top floor leaked on to the floor the way the doors shut - however it was easy enough for the water to be mopped up. As I said earlier, I didn't find instructions (this may have been me missing them) for appliances or the heating, which would have been helpful. Every brand is slightly different, although most of it is fairly obvious. The microwave took the most working out! The notes haven't been updated since covid so these could be looked at again. Eg we were meant to put linen in provided bags - but there weren't any. Assume no longer required, but is it still required to strip the beds? Not sure. However I could happily have stayed in this lovely cottage - probably forever! We really did enjoy our stay and would thoroughly recommend it - we are a family of 3 adults. I've been on holiday with Sykes before and as always they are easy to deal with, the process is easy, and they respond quickly - a good company.

We had a fantastic time at Farm View Lodge during late April.
Just a few minutes walk from Painswick town centre, it is enough in the sticks to see hill and fields all round. Walk out of the door and few strides enables to view the cows and horses that are kept on the farm. Dan and Steph are living on the farm and are very friendly. Their sheep dog Ted is well behaved and a delight. The premsies itself is all on one level accesed up a gravel drive. It is almost step free, just a small lip. Inside you find two bedrooms, both ensuite with showers. The kitchen is big enough for 4/5 people, and well fitted, with all you need. There is even a big freezer in the basement, alongside the laundry items. The lounge is comfortable. The TV isnt smart but a break is often worthwhile, there is WiFi if you need it. We found it a great place to relax with space outdoors and easy access to all the local attractions. We would love to stay agin if we come back this way.

Great location, parking, walking distance, two streets away from a large Co-op Very surprised that there was no pillow protectors on the bedroom pillows, very strange especially post covid and gem spreading provention.
All the window could do with a jolly good clean outside, next door had thereâs done on the Saturday when we arrived and assumed ours may be done too, so can I suggest a regular window cleaner. Lastly, the internet we didnât have any connections for the first 4 days, (was the jubilee bank holiday)I finally contacted manor cottages, who sent somebody out within 15 mins, brilliant response! to look at the problem, the chap was unable to sort, seems that e portable router/boaster wasnât present, so the next day at noon, chap arrived with a replacement router. In the day of internet and is not being able to access property until 6 which is very late, that the housekeeper should have checked this item was present, it did mar the holiday as two Birthdays in our party and family not able to FaceTime.

We had an absolutely fantastic week at Kettle Cottage.
Joanna and her family were the perfect hosts, and simply could not do enough to ensure that we were having a good time and that all of our needs were met. The cottage itself is lovely, particularly the upstairs bedrooms and the terrace, which got great sunshine. The local area is absolutely stunning and there is so much to do within a short walk or car journey. One of our highlights was a visit to Little Oaks Vineyard just outside of Chipping Camden. The local recreation ground is also a real find, with plenty of room for the children to play and the adults to exercise. I wouldnât hesitate to recommend this to anybody looking for a relaxing peaceful break in the heart of the Cotswolds. Thank you Joanna for your wonderful hospitality and an excellent stay.

The property was in an excellent location, very quiet and the garden was lovely to sit in.
The beds were very comfortable. However, we found the cottage lacked attention to detail in many areas. For example....the cottage felt quite tired, scuffed and chipped paintwork in places, empty bottle of bleach in the bathroom, no dessert spoons in kitchen therefore we had to eat with tablespoons, poor kitchen equipment, dirty grout around the shower and the blind didn't work properly in bathroom. But the main problem we encountered was the overall cleanliness of the property. The cottage was quite dusty especially under the bed where lots of hair and dust were very visible. Lots of spider webs in corners in the lounge were visible and unfortunately it just didn't feel like a deep clean had been done prior to our visit.
