What our customers say about their holidays

Brilliant holiday home, ideal for multiple families and great set up for both kids and adults.
There are 10 adults and 7 children in our group and we have been holidaying together in Scotland for 5 years and this was the best house we have stayed in. John was great and very attentive if needed. The heating and water systems are great which lend to a ideal drying room for clothes. The gardens are gorgeous and the kids play area a real plus. The bedrooms mostly had ensuites which was great and those that did not had bathrooms very close. The kitchens were well kitted out with everything we needed and the dining room was lovely. The log cabin was lovely and was a great addition to the holiday. The house has a lot of history which made for some really interesting reading. The fixtures and fittings were all high quality, comfy sofas and beds and well decorated. Things for improvement were that the house was clean but could have been cleaner, it was obvious there had been dogs in the house previous to us and with a few people with allergies - that wasn't ideal. Also the feather bedding was an issue for us as again there were a few people with allergies but we understand many guests will think feather duvets are a plus point. There was dirty underwear under one of the beds in the MacGillvray room (not ours as only two 7 year old boys staying in that room) and lots of wrappers/papers behind the bed in the MacDonald room. The internet wasn't great and we often could not get connected - could use some wifi extenders or a boost to allow more people to join the network at once (we all live rurally so are used to these issues). We also felt the list of duties for tenants to do at the end of the holiday was quite extensive - the most we have been asked to do in the 5 years of renting big houses for holiday. On the whole - an amazing place to stay to explore the local area. Thanks! * Happy for the top part of the review to be published with the second part omitted as it was more to let the owners know of some improvements which could be made.

Great location by the River Ness, a short walk into town with the Ness Islands close by too.
The property is nice and comfortable, we had a good stay and enjoyed our holiday. Having off-road parking is great especially so close to the town itself. My only reservations are as follows. Constructive criticism only and not a big moan. The property is directly off Ness Walk which does mean you have a lot of people walking by. At all times of the day, not great in the early hours of the morning. The property has no freezer. Maybe not essential, but not ideal if you have arrived having popped to the supermarket and bought frozen food. No freezer is listed on the property details but you would take that as a given. Nowhere to hang or dry clothes. There is a washer / dryer included, not all clothes are dryer friendly if you want them the same size as you put them in. The cooker is great once you get it to work. The letting agent must turn off the appliance each time they ready the property for the next visitors. In doing so the fan oven doesnât work. There were no instructions at the property so spent half an hour finding and downloading the cookerâs manual and setting the clock which unlocks the oven. Far from ideal. The property guest book could be more detailed and include additional literature for the surrounding area. Little things. The property lacks the personal touch as managed by an agent rather than directly with the property owner. Ending on a more positive note, Inverness is great and this property is a great base to visit the town and surrounding area.

We arrived 16.
00 on 22nd December. The temperature outdoors was minus 2c. The lodge was cold with heating set at 15c. The listing advised electric fire in the lounge. Despite requesting this from the owners representative this was never delivered. Inverness is in The Highlands and our stay was during the winter period. There is nowhere to hang wet coats, indeed no hangers or rails wardrobe to hang any clothes not even a coat hook. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped but there is no coffee machine. The Aga style cooker has a large extractor hood which is in desperate need of replacement filters that are thick with grease. Overall the central location on the banks of The River Ness and easy access to the town centre was appealing. Newly decorated and comfortable beds, linen and towels. The lounge room however was very cold with one inadequate radiator. Nice touch of artificial Christmas tree also appreciated as our stay was over Christmas time. Would we return no! The owners representative ignored our texts regarding the listed electric fire and clothes hangers.

I had a lovely week at Tommyâs.
I was out on the hills every day in some pretty brutal weather so it was nice to come back to a warm, clean and comfortable home. Off street parking is important to me and you can fit two cars easily on the drive. The property is located in a convenient location for restaurants and bars and despite this I found it to be remarkably quiet. The bed is super comfortable. Unusually for a holiday cottage it is really warm and there is plenty of hot water, the shower is great and the kitchen is well stocked and the oven is fast to heat and everything in the kitchen works well. The sofas are also comfortable so staying in is a pleasure. There was a lovely welcome pack including some chocolate biscuits which was gratefully received when I arrived after a ten hour drive to Inverness. The owners are lovely and canât do enough for you. I canât recommend Tommyâs highly enough and Iâve just rebooked it for a trip in February.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rowan House.
Itâs roomy for 5 people, pretty hi-tech and my son loved the electric reclining sofas and now is saving up his pocket money to buy one! The kitchen had lots of storage and was well equipped (although lacking in forks if Iâm being picky). Lots of appliances; dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bathrooms were lovely (no bath but the showers were lovely). The place was immaculately clean and in a great location for exploring the area. The entrance rug is very slippery. We spent our evenings playing board games and the dining table was perfect for this. Parking is not a problem, free street parking just a few meters down the road. Extremely good value for money and I would highly recommend this property.
