  We had a wonderful week at the Paye House.

  The house is old (by a couple 100 years) so visitors should not expect modern accommodation. However, the kitchen was very functional and perfect for the four of us. The washing machine (which is also a dryer) worked and the bedrooms and baths were comfortable. We had a lovely time in Cromarty and did a lot of walking. The area is beautiful and we felt that a one-week holiday needed to be longer. A couple of recommendations: Upgrade the kitchenware, the knives are so dull they are hazardous. Some of the pots and pans were old and dirty. The floors in the house were a bit dirty, so a scrub between visitors would be great. Supplies were rather limited for a week stay, e.g., there were two rubbish bags provided but as a group of 4 we needed more. The rubbish bin was mostly full when we arrived. Despite these recommendations, I would return to the Paye house today, as the location and ambiance are wonderful.

  Coorie Doon is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location.

  Myself, 2 kids and my parents spent a wonderful, relaxing week there in October. The cottage, while being spacious, felt very cosy and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a big, freestanding bath and a very spacious shower. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. WiFi connectivity was excellent. The kids loved that we were only a 2 minute walk away from a lovely, sandy beach and enjoyed walking and playing there every day. Communication with the property owner was great and he provided lots of useful info. Nairn itself is a lovely town with a good collection of shops and we didn’t feel the need to wander much further afield. That said, if you did wish to do a bit of exploring, Nairn is perfectly placed for heading to the North East and North West. I’d highly recommend a stay at Coorie Doon!

  If you're in a hurry - great property beautifully presented, go & enjoy!

  If you've a bit more time - Coorie Down is in a wonderful location barely 2 minutes walk from the beach, but also an easy short walk to Nairn's town centre. The owners have ensured guests will want for (almost) nothing, with a well appointed kitchen & a very comfortably furnished sitting room. The king sized bed was also hugely comfortable and the provided linen and towels felt luxurious. The wifi was also well up to the task, and for our arrival, the owners had left a small selection of welcome goodies to start us off. What stood out was the level of cleanliness throughout - the presentation of Coorie Down was, to our minds, exemplary. One minor issue surfaced during our stay, and owner Paul responded at once and ensured a replacement item was delivered the following day. Fantastic all round.

  Firthview is absolutely superb.

  A very comfortable home from home which is spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly want to enjoy your stay. It is in a very quiet and peaceful location with great views towards the Moray Firth. We enjoy wildlife and birdwatching so really nice to see the deer in the fields outside the lounge window and also the pheasants that regularly passed through the garden as well as the nesting House Martins outside. A great place to stay for all the sites we wanted to visit including Fort Augustus, RSPB Abernethy, John o’ Groats, Brodies Castle and the Dolphin Centre. We had the perfect weeks stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary and would definitely book to stay again. We also received a lovely welcome pack from the owners Anne and Steve, which was very much appreciated.

  Paye House is in the heart of Cromarty and a perfect location for exploring the highlands, beautiful scenery.

  A comfortable accommodation perfect for a large family with all amenities needed for a stay. The only downside that we found was the beds uncomfortable with roll on all beds. Having stayed in many cottages over the years we would have hoped for a welcome basket with the basics to allow for tea and coffee making on arrival but no such luck. We arrived at 7pm after a 11 hour drive to reach the cottage and with no shops etc open in the village this made for disappointment in the stay. We had to travel back to Inverness to find an open shop to stock up on provisions.
