What our customers say about their holidays

We started with an issue - no key in the lock box, so we had to call the owner who then had to call the cleaner who then took 15 mins to come to us.
Great location to visit this lovely area. Cottage is immaculately presented and offers nearly everything you need. Beds âï¸ Showersâï¸ Internal space âï¸ Loft rooms âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ (big hit with my 5 year old) Location âï¸ Cooking cleaning facilities âï¸ 2 pubs in the village 1 doesn't open till 5pm. Both are quite expensive for food and similarly prices. The golden fleece was newly refurbished and offered a large selection of drinks but we preferred the typical old world pub, The union inn as the atmosphere was relaxed and really friendly. Only 2 things let this property down - The free for all parking outside is shambolic. The neighbours on both sides have 2 cars each which should normally leave enough space for 1 car but the business opposite insisted on parking their van right outside the front door, whichever we had to park down the street for 4 out of 5 days - I spoke to the guys in the business and they just laughed. The rear room and outside space - once the door is open, the room stinks of damp and is full of spiders. My daughters would not go through to the 'yard' and even my dog needed bribing. The outside space is not suitable to even sit in as the lower part is that covered it feels like a cave and getting to the upper part is dangerous (if any rain or moisture in the air) - I made it up but no one else fancied tackling the steep and loose rock steps. If it weren't to the 2 above points, it would be near perfect. We visited most of the towns along the coast spanning 100 miles and we could've seen more if we had more time. The copper mines at Sygun where great and the walks close by meant it was a full day Our favourite place was Beddgelert. Great walks, Super handmade gift shops. Lovely river. Scenic walks and a fantastic pub (Prince Lewellyn) - could not recommend this village highly enough.

Positives about this property.
Itâs has been decorated beautifully and you can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into it, beds were comfy and it was super clean, lots of lovely touches around the house. The locations great to get around to other close towns nearby. Now unfortunately onto the negatives - The attic bedroom has no windows and it was absolutely roasting hot and totally unbearable to sleep in as the weather was so good, so my son had to sleep on the floor in our bedroom. I text the number for the owner asking if there was a fan also asked if there was an iron and ironing board as I could not find one anywhere but unfortunately did not get a response. PARKING is first come first served, if you do manage to park near the house the minute you move your space is taken so trying to park when you come back from a day out isnât fun! We had a morning raid from the man who owns the shop over the road because the friends we went with had nowhere to park but on the pavement outside his shop. He scared the living daylights out of our kids as he was banging on the door that loud and shouting up at the windows at 7.50am. Totally uncalled for as we would have moved the car without issue, didnât need the abuse at all. So I think there needs to be a note put in the house to let holiday makers know not to park near his shop as apparently it happens all the time. The âgarden,â(no grass) I would say more of a small yard and when you climb the very steep steps to get to the terrace its a disappointment as it has no seating at all so the âGardenâ was for us a disappointment considering how much thought has gone into the inside of the house, the outside let it down.

Garth Craig is a fabulous holiday let.
The house is large, and all the rooms are spacious and well-furnished. It has everything you could need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. It has a perfect position overlooking the harbour, and the views from the front windows are beautiful. Itâs far enough from the main town centre to be nice and quiet, but close enough to be very convenient for the harbour and the shops etc. The beaches at Borth-y-Gest are a pleasant 15 minute walk away. The house was very comfortable and immaculately clean. The basket of goodies on arrival was very welcome! The parking space at the rear is a bit tricky to find, and itâs quite a tight space, but itâs useful to have. We had a second car, and initially we struggled to find a good spot to park it. The Ship Inn said that they had no official car park we could use, but it turned out that there were some free spaces behind that pub. Next to that, and still very close to the house, is a long stay car park (Lombard Street costing £5.50 per 24 hours), but we were usually lucky enough to find a space down by the harbour, where parking is free. We would definitely recommend Garth Craig, and hope to return.

The property was lovely although the access was less than ideal.
My main annoyance was the check in time of 5pm and the check out time of 9am! When you have small children who need to be in bed by 7pm it certainly makes the start to holiday hectic and stressful. I certainly would not book anywhere with that check in time again. Then to have the cheek to expect you to strip all the beds and sort the bins and be out by 9am!!! Given the ridiculous times, I would expect all this âhousekeepingâ to be done for me, so not only was the start of the holiday stressful but then I had concern myself with stripping beds and loading bags of rubbish into my car with all my luggage and of course being out by 9am with 2 small children. Never again!! Totally spoilt it for me and if those times are general for Skyes Cottages then Iâll be telling all my friends with children to steer clear.

An absolutely fantastic property, a real home from home.
The property is deceptively spacious, with four good sized bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen and modern day amenities. The owner really went the extra mile with little touches, such as welcome pack with milk, Welsh cakes, washing up liquid, dishwasher Tablets, coffee capsules, pump soap in every toilet. If you needed it, it was there. I had been worried about the street parking, but this didn't come to fruition. Always space either outside or close by so never once a problem. If I had to criticise anything, which is hard to do on such a lovely property, we did wish the pillows in the master bedroom had more guts to them, as using two your head was still on the mattress. Overall we were more than happy, and by far the best catered for holiday let we have stayed in. Thank you.
