What our customers say about their holidays
Jade - Verified booking
The main positive of this property was the location of the bungalow as it was extremely quiet and peaceful.
It was very spacious and the parking was good. The bed in main bedroom was great. We still managed to have a good holiday overall but feel very let down on many major points. We were very surprised at the many reviews saying the cottage was âspotlessly cleanâ. We had to clean a lot to feel comfortable staying for the week. Many areas were not nearly as clean as we would expect for what we paid. The kitchen tap where the water came from was black when I wiped it, with dirt/mould. This meant we had to use bottled water. The kettle was filled with chunks of limescale and was the worst Iâve ever seen. We bought vinegar to descale this. The conservatory off the single room had an ants nest at the side of the floor and there were so many dead flies lying around. We did not use this room for this reason. The garden was so overgrown you couldnât walk the whole way round. When we used a cleaning wipe on a table in the livingroom it was brown after. The kitchen bin lid was dirty. The bathroom was soaked after every shower. There was mould in the grout of the tiles. The carpet in the livingroom was stained and sticky feeling. The sofas in the livingroom were stained. The whole cottage smelled faintly of old cigarette smoke especially in the bedrooms, and also could smell dogs. We were so dissapointed with all these things and felt really let down. We paid a good amount of money to stay and expected it to be cleaned to a reasonable standard and be able to use all facilities (conservatories, garden, kitchen tap etc). We would have complained during our stay but after having brought young children we wanted to make the most of it and not have to deal with owners coming round and disrupting our holiday. Very poor value for money and disappointing considering it could be such a lovely property if cleaned well and maintained better. Definitely would not stay again.

We had a lovely family weekend at Caxton House Jan 2025.
Would definitely stay again. Thank you so much. Owners had left external lights on for us with it being dark at time of arrival and the heating was on so it was nice and warm on arrival. Very clean and tidy (just a few cobwebs on the light fittings in some rooms, but some of the room ceilings were very high). Only a short (10-15 min) walk into town centre. Shop at the bottom of the street and plenty of takeouts. Foot wash for muddy/sandy boots (though was great idea) we just didn't need it as it was very frosty when we were there). Owners had left us some washing up liquid a tea towel and a sponge. Toilet roll in all bathrooms and some rooms had hand wash, some didn't. No dishwasher tablets (bought some and left them in cupboard for next person). No testing strips for the hot tub so didn't end up using as couldn't smell and chlorine. Spent most of our time in the games room, the living room was lovely but it was very cold. Didn't see thermostat for this room till we were leaving. The room directly next to single bedroom (with the balcony). This mattress needs replacing, we wanted this room but mattress was so uncomfortable (just at the end of its life that's all). Would highly recommend this property and stay again.

The property was amazing, we had booked the property for my mum's 80th birthday but sadly she had passed away before her birthday.
We all decided to go anyway and have a brilliant weekend celebrating her birthday and life. There was 22 adults and 4 kids, the games area was fabulous with the space invaders and pool to keep the kids entertained it was just like been in a very friendly pub without having to pay for your drinks. :-) Plenty of car parking spaces, the kitchen area was very modern with plenty of dining/seating area which was big enough for us to all have our meals together. Everything that you need from the kitchen too, plenty of cutlery and crockery, lovely Chinese at the bottom of the road we placed an order and picked up 45 mins later. If you turn right out of the property it takes you straight onto the beach and down onto the peer. I have not been to Skegness for a very long time and it was really nice to see how much money had been invested into the town to make the beaches and surround areas really really nice. More than enough upstairs space and downstairs space for everyone, 10/10 would recommend to anyone with a large party, would revisit again.

We had a pleasant stay in Bumblebee cottage.
Very quiet estate. Secure parking. Comfortable beds. We slept very well. Good seating. WiFi good. Quality smart TV. Cosy and warm. Good shower but not suitable for those with limited mobility. Very dog secure garden even for small dogs. Convenient location on edge of Skegness. A few minor issues that need addressing IMO. Only two knives. Frying pan useless. No oven glove or tea towel. There was no hand soap in either kitchen or bathroom. No salt or pepper and no welcome pack whatsoever. You will need everything from minute one including milk for a cup of tea. Cooker oven really needs better instructions or replacement as markings have rubbed off through use. No washing up bowl. But these are minor issues and I would stay again if visiting area again. I would recommend this holiday let.

Of all the properties we have rented through Sykes this was the best equipped.
The property has obviously been well cared for and maintained. Kitchen equipment levels were much better than we had expected, which pleased us greatly. The sun lounge, with it's reclining armchairs, was much appreciated during a short period of inclement weather as it allowed us to watch a short lived thunderstorm in comfort. The chairs were marvellous for catching up on our reading, also. Everything we needed to enjoy our holiday was available at the cottage and we were very pleased with our rental. One small niggle: the main bedroom faces east so at 05.00 the sun shone brightly into the room, disturbing our sleep. We managed to come up with an easy fix but a pair of lined curtains would be a good idea, otherwise absolutely no complaints just highly recommended.
