What our customers say about their holidays
Robert - Verified booking
We started with an issue - no key in the lock box, so we had to call the owner who then had to call the cleaner who then took 15 mins to come to us.
Great location to visit this lovely area. Cottage is immaculately presented and offers nearly everything you need. Beds âï¸ Showersâï¸ Internal space âï¸ Loft rooms âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ (big hit with my 5 year old) Location âï¸ Cooking cleaning facilities âï¸ 2 pubs in the village 1 doesn't open till 5pm. Both are quite expensive for food and similarly prices. The golden fleece was newly refurbished and offered a large selection of drinks but we preferred the typical old world pub, The union inn as the atmosphere was relaxed and really friendly. Only 2 things let this property down - The free for all parking outside is shambolic. The neighbours on both sides have 2 cars each which should normally leave enough space for 1 car but the business opposite insisted on parking their van right outside the front door, whichever we had to park down the street for 4 out of 5 days - I spoke to the guys in the business and they just laughed. The rear room and outside space - once the door is open, the room stinks of damp and is full of spiders. My daughters would not go through to the 'yard' and even my dog needed bribing. The outside space is not suitable to even sit in as the lower part is that covered it feels like a cave and getting to the upper part is dangerous (if any rain or moisture in the air) - I made it up but no one else fancied tackling the steep and loose rock steps. If it weren't to the 2 above points, it would be near perfect. We visited most of the towns along the coast spanning 100 miles and we could've seen more if we had more time. The copper mines at Sygun where great and the walks close by meant it was a full day Our favourite place was Beddgelert. Great walks, Super handmade gift shops. Lovely river. Scenic walks and a fantastic pub (Prince Lewellyn) - could not recommend this village highly enough.

Positives about this property.
Itâs has been decorated beautifully and you can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into it, beds were comfy and it was super clean, lots of lovely touches around the house. The locations great to get around to other close towns nearby. Now unfortunately onto the negatives - The attic bedroom has no windows and it was absolutely roasting hot and totally unbearable to sleep in as the weather was so good, so my son had to sleep on the floor in our bedroom. I text the number for the owner asking if there was a fan also asked if there was an iron and ironing board as I could not find one anywhere but unfortunately did not get a response. PARKING is first come first served, if you do manage to park near the house the minute you move your space is taken so trying to park when you come back from a day out isnât fun! We had a morning raid from the man who owns the shop over the road because the friends we went with had nowhere to park but on the pavement outside his shop. He scared the living daylights out of our kids as he was banging on the door that loud and shouting up at the windows at 7.50am. Totally uncalled for as we would have moved the car without issue, didnât need the abuse at all. So I think there needs to be a note put in the house to let holiday makers know not to park near his shop as apparently it happens all the time. The âgarden,â(no grass) I would say more of a small yard and when you climb the very steep steps to get to the terrace its a disappointment as it has no seating at all so the âGardenâ was for us a disappointment considering how much thought has gone into the inside of the house, the outside let it down.

Although we found the booking process a little confusing with emails from separate sites which didn't appear to be linked, we would still book again as we fell in love with the cottage. Hosts ,Tom and Bren, were superb. Were there to meet us on arrival in awful weather and in the dark, but without any complaint. The cottage was everything and more that we could have wished for . Very child friendly too. Play area for the children and very safe. Beautiful views, surrounded by fields and hills, quiet and relaxing and within 20-30 mins drive of everywhere we wanted to go and local attractions such as the slate caverns, Portmadog, Betwyscoed, Snowdonia, Pwllhelli. We had everything we needed in the cottage, and more. Very clean, tidy, loved the quirkiness of it. There is a local Tesco within 1 mile drive if extra provisions are needed. There is also a pub, but we were there for a family gathering so had all we needed in the cottage. Everything you need in the kitchen for cooking a family meal for 8. A few games, lots of books, TV, DVD and Chromecast. Overall superb, would definitely recommend this beautiful quaint cottage.

Located about a mile NE of village of Abergynolwyn, just off the B4405, behind the property and over the foot-bridge is an unmarked road which makes for a pleasurable walk into the village. From the village, the forest trail to Bryn Eglwys quarry which for much of its length runs along the cascading Nant Gwernol. From the property itself, the path up the mountainside to Llanfihangel y Pennant and Castell y Bere can be accessed easily and the route makes for a stunning 4hr circular hike. The property has separate kitchen-dining and sitting rooms on the ground floor with an open staircase to a good-sized bedroom and bathroom on the 1st. The heating was very effective and the welcome pack much appreciated. We spent 3 nights in Granar Olwyn and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Byddwn yn argymell y lleoliad i ymweld â bro Mari Jones a gerddodd o Lanfihangel i'r Bala i brynu Beibl gan Thomas Charles. Ardal ogoneddus a'r bobl leol yn gyfeillgar ac yn barod iawn i sgwrsio.

The good: Lovely, clean, peaceful apartment finished to a very high standard.
Large bright rooms. Comfortable beds and fluffy white towels, great shower in the en suite. Pleasant private outside space. Good parking. Located in village with interesting Woollen Mill which is well worth a visit. The not so good: Our worst problem was the tv âsnugâ which is really a wide corridor. The tv is far too large for such close viewing and the tv sofa only comfortable if you are lying on it. Also only max 3 people can watch tv at a time in a party of up to 6. The TV was Smart which weâre not used to. One has to open accounts for each channel you want to watch- BBC i player, ITV, C4 etc which was a bind. In our opinion this area would be much better suited as a reading area with a tv in the main living area. Also no salt pepper and oil as promised but there were lots of spices left by previous visitors. Visitors should note that there isnât a hairdryer and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for up to 6 people for a week, so bring your own!
