What our customers say about their holidays

Stone's Throw is a lovely property and was chosen by us because of its close proximity to The Sole Bay Inn. My wife has been diagnosed PSP which is a very rare form of dementia. We would normally have eaten out every evening but the pub didn't serve food during the week. This meant I had to cook for us. The kitchen is very nicely equipped, however, the instruction provided are inadequate. I had to telephone you to try and find out how to switch the hob on, there is a child-proof lock and the instructions on the hob have this hidden in very small print. I think there should be a more positive instruction about this at the head of the instruction. The oven instruction are totally inadequate. There is a note to say more comprehensive instructions are available online. An internet search only showed that you could purchase them. All of the kitchen appliance instructions are photocopied and reduced to get them one a sheet of A4. This makes the very difficult to read as the font size is below 8. The difficulty I had is very easily remedied and I hope is done so for future guests to what is a charming little cottage.

We had a lovely week in Southwold. The flat is in an excellent location and we found it easy to park and get around. The flat was very comfortable and spacious and on arrival there was bread, milk, eggs, butter, jam & some coffee pods which was a lovely touch, and gratefully received. The kitchen was well-equipped although the kettle needs a descaling! The small bedroom was a little dusty in places - annoying as our 5 year old likes to touch everything! The flat looks out onto a private garden at the back which was off putting at times when you want to get changed and there’s a family of 5 eating their dinner outside the bedroom window - but obviously pulling the curtains solves that problem. The shower was excellent, really powerful and the bath was a good size for our son to splash around in. The blackout blinds in the bedrooms were very good. Overall we had a lovely stay and hope to come back again.

We were impressed with the quality of the property, for example the well-equipped kitchen, fluffy towels and gorgeous bedding.
It felt like a lot of thought had been put into making sure everyone has as good a stay as possible. The photos don't really do justice to some aspects of the property, like the spacious king size bedroom, high ceilings and elegant hallway. We also loved the access to the Common. This isn't mentioned in the property description, but provides a shorter route to the seafront. (Having said that, the location is incredibly central anyway, while also being quiet and tucked away.) My only criticism would be that I'd have appreciated a summer weight duvet. But the property worked brilliantly for the 3 of us and we'd happily stay again. For anyone thinking of booking, don't be put off by the lack of parking. We always managed to park virtually outside, despite visiting in the main school holiday period.

I booked The Folly so I could join family on holiday. I was staying here alone and it was perfect for one. The property is in a good location- very near the high street and a few minutes walk to the beach. The Folly is light & airy. Blinds keep the space private from another holiday property across the yard. There are two pull-out beds which are surprisingly comfortable and easy to use. The bathroom is small, but everything works well. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, I must admit I didn’t cook many meals. The sitting area is pleasant and the sofas are comfortable too. Everything I needed for a week’s stay.

Very comfortable apartment, and the wine and biscuits were a treat - thank you.
Grateful also for being allowed to operate the CH and the bathroom heating. I tried to be careful with both. Just two issues - no batteries in the DVD player remote control. And the radiator in the living room is leaking at the thermostat. Had a wonderful holiday with my little dog, walking the footpaths around Southwold, Walberswick and towards Dunwich. Came across three firsts - a Chinese Water Deer, a weasel, and the boom of a number of bittern hidden in the reeds. Oh, and some delicious hot smoked mackerel from the fishmonger in the harbour. Then coming back to such a comfortable flat. Really enjoyable.
