  We both really enjoyed our stay at 1 Easton Barn.

  We were pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the property was and it immediately felt like home. The property is very well situated. Its a short drive from various beaches like Challaborough Bay, Wonwell Beach, Bantham, Burgh Island etc. Up the road is St Annes Chapel which stocks your essential and last minute items and Kingsbridge is not too far should you need to visit a larger supermarket. There was a review somewhere which commented on the noise from the pool table below and it was audible from the room, however it didn't cause us any issues. The garden area is well kept with a small summer house, inside which is a BBQ and spare charcoal we could use if needed. Bathroom facilities were good enough. I've used far worse showers! Bedroom has ample storage and plug sockets. Living room was comfortable with plenty of board games for rainy evenings and the house in general was warm. Kitchen was better equipped than my one at home. No shortage of plates, bowls, saucepans, cutlery, utensils etc. In the spirit of a fair review, There were some areas of the house that could have used a wipe, so we just did it ourselves. Overall, I didn't expect this property to be as clean as it was given the age and type of building it is so I don't feel rating its cleanliness any lower than full marks would be justified. Lastly, we would like to thank the hosts for having us. The check in process was super easy, the property was good value for money and we genuinely look forward to staying again.   Bluebell cottage was a great quirky cottage very close to all amenities and also within walking distance to an Aldi and Tesco. The Seaton Tramway was a great day out which you can also walk to from the cottage. The parking permit is for Orchard car park (only a couple of minutes walk away) and is valid for the whole of your stay…we had a bit of confusion when we arrived, so just to clarify. The bed was very comfortable and the tv has all the entertainment you could want. The second bedroom upstairs has another tv in case you have children that want to watch something different. There is a lovely coastal walk from the cottage into Beer, which is well worth a visit. The donkey sanctuary is a short drive away. Sidmouth is around 20mins drive away. I would suggest this is not suitable accommodation for anyone with mobility issues as the staircase is very narrow and quite steep. There is also a step up from the lounge into the kitchen. If this isn’t a problem for you and you want somewhere with convenience and comfort then I would definitely recommend, with the added bonus of being dog friendly!

  We really enjoyed our time at Easton Barn.

  Located in a very beautiful setting. A vast improvement from our last booking with Sykes. Very clean and everything there you needed for a comfortable stay. We met the owner when we arrived who was very pleasant and helpful giving us good information about lovely local walks and places to visit. If you walked to the top of the garden which was quite large you could see all the beautiful countryside around you. Our Dog loved running round the lovely enclosed garden, which also had a summer house. You could also make use of the Barbecue. Well situated for trips around the South Devon Countryside and coastal regions. Bigbury on Sea just down the road. Had a lovely day in Dartmoor National Park and finished off the day with Fish and chips in Brixham on Friday before going home via Kingsbridge (which is a lovely town with walks by the river) on Saturday. Would highly recommend 1 Easton Barn.

  Tawny Owl is a lovely cottage furnished to a high standard and with every piece of equipment and fittings you could ever want. It was ideal for our 9 month old grandson as everything is on one level and both cot and highchair were of high quality. We very much appreciated the extra touch of a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates in addition to tea, coffee and milk ready for our first brew on arrival. The hot tub was also appreciated at the end of a busy day visiting the area. We also very much enjoyed going to Runswick Bay which is very close to the cottage (about 5 minutes drive). Liz was very welcoming, helpful and prompt with any query we had. Although close to the main road, the cottage offers plenty of parking space which was an essential for us with baby equipment and there is easy access to Staithes by foot from the cottage (about 20 minute walk).

  You can tell the owners have put a lot of love and effort into making the place feel high standard. No cheap furniture, everything was high quality and it showed and was appreciated. Bed was super comfy and the bedding was lovely. Roll top bath was a joy to relax into. We received a lovely warm welcome and everything felt personalised down to providing us with a personal list of things we might enjoy based on our conversation we had about what we like to do. Received fresh flowers and wine on arrival and thank you for the special touch at the Angel for our celebrations. And a great meal choice too! We stayed 3 nights here, everything felt peaceful and away from it all. And I think they have been really creative with how they’ve designed the property. I would recommend to others. Thank you Anya. You made it a lovely stay.
