What our customers say about their holidays

Property perfectly located for walkers.
Lots of public footpaths in the area. Easy to find. Nice helpful owners. Hugely spacious interior and exterior. Cosmetically charming. Garden has large table with plenty of seating. Parking is good. We took two cars and had no issues. Mostly quiet with the exception of a repetitive beeping coming from the security keypad of the adjacent property. Very annoying at night when windows are open. Nice welcome note and complimentary bottle of wine and cake etc. Including 10% off in local farm shop cafe. Which was also high quality and well stocked. Kitchen facilities were brilliant. Plenty of crockery and cutlery. Dishwasher and washer dryer easy to use. 'Sharp' Knives on the blunt side (no suprise for rented accommodation). Cooker is amazing. Double oven excellent. Plenty of food/drink storage. Plenty of seating around dining area. Very spacious and comfortable. Huge living room. Plenty of seating. Very comfortable and cozy. Living room TV on the small side for such a large room. Awful sound quality. Free to view TV is good. Internet connection poor, bit of a let down for accommodation that sleeps so many, but understandable given property location. Downstairs shower nice and spacious. Shower screen allows water to splash everywhere, meaning wet floor and foot towel. Nice soaps and lotions. Tap is a bit leaky. Front door very difficult to open and close. Used back door instead. Somewhat of a potential fire hazard, but understandable given the recent extremes of temperature in UK. Bedrooms spacious. Beds and bedding comfortable. Odd number of TVs in rooms, but we didn't expect any, so still a nice suprise. Shared/family bathroom is very big. Toilet cistern seems to be running however. Had to adjust ballcock a few times to remedy this. Ensuite is lovely. Nice big bath. Plenty of hot water on supply. Outlet drains a bit slow. From the outside there appears to be a wasp nest in the guttering between master bedroom with Ensuite and double bedroom. Wasps left us alone, but could be heard in the dressing area of the master with Ensuite. Not a huge issue, worth mentioning as sometimes structural issues can result. 09:30 checkout and being asked to strip all beds is a little early and s little odd. Not something we've experienced before. Overall a lovely and restful stay in a beautiful, comfortable, clean property and environment.

There was a problem with the heating downstairs and the hot water supply on the last day or so.
My daughter-in-law left a message for the owner as it was quite difficult getting everyone up and ready on the last morning when there was no hot water. This did not happen the last time we came so it must have been a "one off". We hope so and that it can be fixed before the next people come. . As regards the heating, we found that it was not very efficient downstairs and had to put on the gas fires even though the weather was relatively mild. We did appreciate the Christmas decorations which were much more plentiful than last time and added to our enjoyment.. We all enjoyed the house itself and its facilities; it is a good place for a larger party and my grandson wants to come again in 2 years time when it's our turn to spend Christmas with the family. Thank you, too, for the welcome tray of goodies! Minehead is great for Christmas with its seafront and also the grounds at Dunster Castle to walk off Christmas food! One thing that would help us would be to have a wash basin in each bedroom; the upstairs bathroom is relatively small for 4 bedrooms and its occupants. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.

Where improvements could be made:- 1.
The instructions to find the house were not easy. We needed to turn RIGHT into King George Road and the house was on the RIGHT HAND corner as we turned in. (We saw the left hand part of King George Road and turned left which was wrong but as there were no instructions....!) 2.Although there were 3 Christmas trees only ONE was of a good size and apart from a lovely wreath on the front door there were no room decorations at all which was disappointing. We have often rented houses at Christmas which have been decorated but these decorations were a bit minimal. 3.As regards equipment, the kitchen knives were not at all sharp. Fortunately we brought some of our own otherwise there would have been a problem. Praise:- Generally we loved the house and there was so much room. The bedrooms were particularly well furnished and appointed. We also loved the spacious kitchen especially the coffee machine. Please will you give our thanks to the owners who left a very generous tray of gifts for us. We much appreciated this! As regards feedback, only publish the complimentary ones!

Great house for us to explore Minehead and beyond from.
The bedrooms were really comfortable and quiet. The multiple bathrooms/showers came in very handy with 4 adults. The kitchen is a great size and had just about everything we needed. The garden was lovely to sit in of an evening. Would highly recommend. You need to take things like cling film, tin foil and your own condiments as in Covid related times it wouldn't work to leave them behind for other guests. There are plenty of shops nearby to get everything you need. There were some lovely really personal touches - the chocolates were the best i have ever tasted and the selection of different teas a lovely idea. There is a great curry house nearby in Alcombe that is definitely worth a visit or a takeaway. We had our two children who are adults and wheelchair users and it was very easy to be able to push them into town as it is lovely and flat. All in all a great stay.

We stayed for a week - 4 adults and two children (4 yrs and 14 mths).
A lovely clean, comfortable, spacious, child friendly home. There is a travel cot with mattress, high chair and a decent buggy under the stairs. We were unaware there was a buggy, prior to arriving and it would have saved on luggage space if we had known, (maybe our fault for not asking!). Beds extremely comfortable, lots of soft towels provided. The weather wasn't great so having a utility room in which to keep all the boots, shoes, bags and beach stuff was so useful. Plus having the use of a great washing machine and tumble dryer was a real bonus. The games selection is rather basic and most games have pieces missing or need batteries, so best to take your own games. No kids toys there either so take your own. Really enjoyed our stay and it was a lovely home to go back to after a day out.
