What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Robert Mackenzie - Verified booking
Our overall impression was that not enough care went into preparing the property for our arrival. The temperature was 10C in the unit when we arrived and it took us quite a while to understand how to operate the central heating. Once we had figured it out, we managed to maintain a comfortable temperature for the rest of our stay, however we really felt that someone could have turned the heat on for our arrival. There were umpteen reminders not to check in before 4pm, but the heat could actually have been programmed to turn on at that time. The property was spotlessly clean except for utensils that had been put away in the cutlery drawer, the bed (we only used one) very comfortable, excellent, even outstanding shower pressure, incredible views, modern appliances, electrical outlets absolutely everywhere, many, many positives. Negatives: It really felt like nobody had bothered to properly check the place before we arrived. There was a pint of milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits on the counter, a few single-serve packets of instant coffee, packetss of sugar and two teapot-sized tea bags. However, the teapot was found stashed (hidden?) in the back of a cupboard and was missing the lid. I actually spoke to Carol the owner halfway through our week long stay and mentioned this to her, thinking a lid (or new teapot) would be delivered, but none appeared. The kitchen was mostly equipped for 6 people but there were only 5 dinner plates and 5 coffee/tea mugs. I had to rewash the cutlery that had been put away in the cutlery drawer as it wasn't clean at all. There was no washing up liquid for washing anything in the sink and a completely empty bottle of cleaning spray in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. There was a bottle of liquid hand soap in only one of the two bathrooms. The loo rolls were just put on top of the toilet tanks, there were no roll holders/hangers, which we found rather strange. Our suggestion would be to add bedside rugs and televisions in the bedrooms. Also, the only rug in the apartment, found in the living room, would have greatly benefited from having a carpet sweeper in the apartment. Our overall impression was that it is a wonderful apartment but more care should be put into preparing for guests arrival. One packet of biscuits and a pint of milk in a very cold apartment isn't exactly what we would call a "welcome pack".

Fabulous time at Foxton Penthouse.
A beautiful contemporary apartment with stunning views. We were lucky enough to be the first paying guests and feel the owners have gone out of their way to ensure that everything is of a very high standard. Itâs furnished and kitted out excellently, I hope all guests look after and respect this so that it can be enjoyed by visitors for years to come. The one thing we could not find was a hair drier but a quick call to the owner and one was delivered the very next day! We could have managed but the owner was obviously keen that we didnât have to. Great customer service, thank you. The location is in a quiet area of Whitby, away from the main shopping and busy tourist areas but great for access to the beach. This means itâs more peaceful, great for an evening stroll along the promenade and a better night sleep. You can walk down to the harbour and over the bridge to visit the shops, restaurants and the Abbey ruins but be prepared for the uphill walk back from the harbour! We only used the car to visit the supermarket and left it in the car park at the pavilion for the rest of the stay. There was another car park, probably nearer but we liked that we could see the car from the apartment. Car park was never very busy but donât forget to add the cost of car parking on to your holiday as this can mount up. (£9per day from 9am to 6pm, free overnight). Although on street car parking is free for 3 hours this was confusing. Cars parked were displaying a residents pass or a visitors scratch card. We saw one car with 2 parking tickets so the traffic wardens are in force. Please donât let this put you off though, once we had unpacked we didnât need to go back to the car again as we were able to pay the parking fees from the app. We had some amazing walks from the apartment. Were able to walk along the Cleveland Way in both directions. If you like costal walks I definitely recommend the walk to Robin Hoods Bay. Itâs about 8miles, there is a shorter route back along the cinder track, but thereâs also a bus back every half hour if your legs have had enough. All in all, Foxton Penthouse is a fabulous place to stay especially if you like comfort and luxury, and letâs face it, who doesnât? Highly recommended.

A lovely and very spacious appartment in the middle of Whitby. The rooms are very nicely decorated (Thai theme), chairs and sofa are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The view is amazing and the balcony is great to sit and watch the Whitby life pass (and float) by. We actually ended up eating and drinking in the appartment, rather then in the bars and restaurants, as the place was so nice. Bedroom are nice and beds are comfortable as well and include lots of closet space. The two bathrooms are nice with a shower each and a bath in the main bathroom. When you leave the appartment, you are immediatly in the center of Whitby, with many shops, restaurants and pubs nearby. Flip-side is that on weekend nights, it gets a bit noisy with people leaving the pub and still celebrating their good night out... The owners are responsive, when we had an issue with one of the toilets, they did everyhthing to get it resolved immeditaly. With regards to parking, during busy weeks the scratch cards provided don't really work as it is impossible to find a parking space in the "W" zone. We parked at Abbey Headland (GBP 9/day), which was conveniently located 10 min walk up the cliff.

Our apartment was fantastic.
It was modern and comfortable, extremely clean and well provisioned, there was even a pair of reading glasses in case you had forgotten your own! Parking is provided, although the garage is only for apartment one - for the other 2 apartments there is a marked space adjacent to the wall of next door building. I recommend turning your car around in the gravel car park of the accountants next door and reversing into your spot, otherwise you might find turning around a bit tight. However, to get a parking space included in Whitby is a real bonus. The view of the abbey was lovely and the two balconies (one at the front and one at the back shared by both bedrooms), provided the opportunity to follow the sun, although our trip being in March it was a bit chilly. The location is ideal for exploring Whitby and all this lovely old coastal town has to offer, within minutes walk of the shops, bars, restaurants and beach. All in all, I thoroughly recommend The Office apartments and will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful week at the apartment.
The owners were easy to communicate with and made sure that we had all of the information we needed for check in and for our stay. The accommodation was homely, clean and very welcoming. The facilities were excellent. Everything provided for a self catering accommodation. Lots of fluffy towels, wonderful bed linen, the bed was so comfortable. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The location was brilliant. No need to use the car, easy walk into town. There were people in the apartments below but we didn't hear anyone coming or going, very peaceful. We would definitely recommend the apartment, we have already mentioned it to our friends, and would not hesitate to come again if we visit Whitby in the future.
