  I find relatively little difference between the services offered by different holiday cottage companies, so would hesitate to recommend any ones in particular. Our choice of company is determined by the specific properties they have available. I would mention some points that I feel need addressing at Reeve Cottage. (1) The shower head is in desperate need of either descaling or replacement. (2) Three out of four of the electric heaters are different models from the one covered by the owner's handbook that was provided. They appeared to be only adjustable remotely, via an app. Because the weather was cool for most of our stay, we would have liked to have been able to turn up the heaters' temperature a little but were unable to do so. (3) I note that you recommend that guests' cars are reversed into the parking space. I think you need to specify that they must be reversed in. My car (a Toyota Prius) could only negotiate the access in reverse and then only by driving through the overgrown shrubs on the eastern side of the access route. (An initial attempt to enter the car park in forward gear proved absolutely impossible, due to the geometry of the route). If the car parking space is to be a selling point for Reeve Cottage then the vegetation needs to be cut right back to the boundary wall. In the event, it was such a hassle using the parking space that we parked our car across at the Village Hall most of the time (which I know you mention as an alternative but wouldn't have been necessary if the access route to Reeve's own parking space had been better maintained).

  Thank you for a lovely fortnight at Westgate House. There are many positives about the House, mainly its wonderful location and the fact that it’s comfortable and clean. We did, however, have a few problems during our stay. The heating didn’t work but this was sorted the next day. We also had an awful night when the guests in the adjoining holiday let had a party which became very anti social. Apparently this is something that’s never happened before and the letting agency and Sally were very concerned and helpful the next day. It was a terrifying night as we and the dogs were scared. We would have appreciated some indication that access is tricky with a large car/SUV. Also despite the house being clean and comfortable, one chooses a property based on photos and expects a property to match those photos. Obviously this is difficult with a successful holiday let like WH as the property is always booked and there’s no time on change over days to do the “extras” that are needed so that a property doesn’t become tired and in need of a deep clean. Really can’t fault the house in general. Just feel that we were a little unlucky. And the location and Blakeney and its surrounding countryside is absolutely fantastic. AL September 2024

  Let’s get the negatives dealt with first: the advertised ‘Welcome Pack’ amounted to one packet of biscuits - not quite what we were expecting so a good job that there was a Spar shop across the road! The general rubbish and recycling bins were full to overflowing on arrival and remained that way all week so regrettably we left our rubbish behind. Hard to imagine that the housekeeper didn’t notice this. The information pack for the house contained almost no information for usage of the appliances - this was unhelpful. With these 3 niggles apart we found the house to be comfortable and well presented with everything you would need for an enjoyable holiday. There were great views of the marshes from the upstairs windows and the garden was large and unoverlooked. The location couldn’t be beaten being both in the heart of Blakeney yet also very peaceful. We would happily stay at Westgate House again but would hope on a future occasion for empty bins and a more acceptable Welcome Pack!

  A wonderful week at Sea Holly House: so comfortable & well equipped. A great location for heading off for nice walks & exploring the area. Had a great meal at The White Horse (worth booking a table as it's busy): great lunch at the gorgeously quirky Wiverton Hall Cafe. The Spar shop in the village is surprisingly good & open long hours too. Sadly the seal trips weren't running this wek so we drove down the coast to Horsey Gap. Watching a week old pup was magical. Other interesting visits - Iceni camp at at Warham (& nice pub!): Binham Priory - The Dairy Cafe /farm shop. Holkham Beach is absolutely incredible - absolutely vast. Holt & Cley are nice to visit too. Too short a visit - hope to come back.

  Lovely house right in the middle of Blakeney. There is no parking outside the property, you can unload down a narrow track when you arrive/leave but cannot stay there. Parking is available up the road with a permit from the house. Great utility room outside with washer, dryer and big fridge freezer to stock up in, useful as the nearest big supermarket is in Holt (Budgens) Beds were comfy with lovely bedding Plenty of towels. Showers were nice and hot Sunsets cross Blakeney were beautiful Blakeney Hotel served lovely food as did the Manor and the White Horse. Great location for exploring the Norfolk coast Bird Watching at Cley Reserve is spectacular.
