What our customers say about their holidays

!st week of September booking for us - our Anniversary! We couldn't have chosen better - it was a home away from home
. Everything was thought of - even a hairdryer (although it was suited for drying not styling). The kitchen was fully equipped - all the tools you could possibly need on holiday, and some you might not - even a fully loaded spice rack; condiments, and tea, coffee, sugar. As a conscientious renter we did make sure that we replenished any of the consumables - seems only fair! Plenty of blankets, for those chillier nights - not that we had any on our stay. A super comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep. I did take my eye mask, so as to ensure no light pollution woke me too early, that did serve me well. The bathroom was spacious, with a good shower over a deep bath - absolutely splendid. Will, the owner, left a really useful information pack on the table, detailing local places to visit, and the history of the cottage - very informative, and most useful. If any further info was needed there was a very knowledgeable neighbour (Pete) popping into view most days - he was friendly and helpful. We made use of the recommended local chippy and Chinese takeaway (who delivered to us). Both were detailed in the info pack - and yes, they were definitely worth making use of. With some doggy treats left for our four-footed fur-baby, we were totally settled for a delightful week-long stay. Would we go back? A resounding YES! Anything we would change? No, everything you need is there - it is for a self-catering holiday after all! Thankyou Will - we loved it!

The cottage was freezing when we arrived so we spent the first night in coats.
The welcome pack was nice and included ground coffee but no cafetiere or anything to make it with. I rang the number but they were no help. I did find a cocktail shaker with a dead fly in it though. The TV batteries were dead and no spares in the man drawer. There are CDs but no CD player, videos but no video player. There are candles dotted around but the instruction booklet said candles weren't allowed. The kitchen could have done with scissors and tongs. The downstairs shower room never got warm enough to use. Some of the curtains could have done with being a bit shorter so they would fit behind the radiators better. The cold water feed in the upstairs bathroom was worse than the hot water feed. There was a freezer but it was in an outside shed so probably wouldn't work in cold weather. The drive is constructed such that you scrape the bottom of the car on entering. I had to park in an unlit road. To get recycling instructions you had to type in a long URL to get to the county council information. I didn't bother. The cottage itself was fabulous. Uneven floors, small doors, cosy rooms; all quaint features you'd expect from a 17th century building. It is barely overlooked. The garden is huge. It's nice to see they've not sold it off. There's a lookout table and chairs at the highest point, but you have to avoid the dog pooh on the steps.

The cottage was fantastic.
It was immaculately clean and had a lot of amenities that were not listed on the site but made our stay even more comfortable, such as: tea towels, tea, coffee, oil, salt and pepper, cling film, board games, cocktail, wine and champagne glasses and more. The only thing missing was matches/a lighter for the log burner. Online the listing said everything needed for the log fire would be provided, so we may have missed the matches somewhere but after looking in all of the logical places we gave up and went to the shop. The local Spar convenience store was a 5 minute walk away so this wasnât too much of an inconvenience. There are also a couple of nice pubs and an artisan bakery in town ( <5min walk). We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, it was nice and warm for our arrival, the beds were really comfy and bed linen felt luxury. USB chargers were a nice touch around the house too. You would struggle to park more than 2 cars outside if needed.

6 Coastal Cottage was perfect for our two-night weekend stay.
We were three adults and two dogs, using the cottage as our base while visiting our daughter who lives in Suffolk. The cottage was warm and cosy during a cold spell, which was a comfort after beach walks with the dogs. The cottage came with a full list of instructions for utilities, including heating. The oven instructions were particularly helpful, as it had a quirky way of being turned on involving the clock/timer. The cottage presented well upon our arrival. It is small, so for a longer stay with three adults and two dogs, we would look for something larger, especially as we had our daughter and her partner visit for an afternoon. However, the images and description on the website accurately reflect the cottage. During the summer months, the outside space would be a bonus. The dishwasher was a bit tired but still functioned fine. Ideally situated for beach walks, which are just a two-minute walk away. Overall, a comfortable stay.

A thoroughly enjoyable and welcoming place to stay and in a fantastic location.
The property was as described and offered many features and comforts; the little cosy lounge was exceptionally lovely to chill-out in after exploring the Suffolk countryside. The reception pack of wine and fresh bread etc was a lovely thought and most welcome. The only minor issue we had was with the ramp to the gravel driveway. As soon as the front wheels got on to the gravel, there was insufficient support and the car bottomed out scraping the ridge. Either the ramp is slightly too steep or the first foot or so of the gravel drive needs to be reinforced. However, this was easily overcome as there was sufficient room to park outside the lovely entrance gate to the property on the roadside. No doubt though, I would highly recommend this charming property to others for an ideal location to base your travels around mid & south Suffolk.
