What our customers say about their holidays
Jill - Verified booking
So sorry I can't give a good review.
..I can only give you an honest one. The only good thing about this place was that it was dog friendly and that you could park very near the chalet. Where to start. So we were there for two weeks with our dogs. There was no washing machine, so after a week or so we ended up having to lug dirty washing around until we found a launderette. No dishwasher, which wouldn't have been a big deal, but the hot water tap in the kitchen didn't do much more than trickle, took ages to heat up then suddenly it was scalding - I managed to burn myself a couple of times. The plastic washing up bowl in the sink was too small to be able to get a dinner plate flat inside, so you couldn't actually soak anything. The first or second evening the power cut out, so we had no light from early evening till the next morning. When the maintenance man came over, he didn't know why we had no power. Eventually he discovered that there was a coin meter which you had to keep feeding with a token to keep power on. He found out that this information was in the chalet handbook, but who reads that from cover to cover as soon as you arrive? There was a mini freezer, but it was full of ice (not cubes) and the door didn't close properly so it was useless. There were no mixer taps in kitchen/bathroom, just old fashioned one hot, one cold, so to wash your hands you had to put the plug in and run both before you got a usable temperature. There was only one key, so that was a bit inconvenient when there's two people who might want to be doing their own thing at times. Kitchen was sparsely equipped - cutlery was only four of each item so you were constantly getting up after main course to wash cutlery before you could eat pudding. Oh, the bed. Double bed was maybe a foot off the floor, and I don't mean the frame - that was to the top of the mattress. Matress was maybe 6 inches tops thick - when lying, you could feel every bar of the metal frame under you. Tiny bedroom - when walking round the bed, you were constantly banging your shins on the hard frame corners. I actually came away with bruises. The bedroom was from maybe the seventies - you had little cupboards either side of the bed with cupboards above that were hinged at the top, which the doors were starting to dangle. Generally, when you looked around, it was dated and somewhat tatty - scrapes along the walls where furniture had been moved or pushed against walls, that the paint hadn't been touched up, it had just been left. It felt like the owners/maintenance just didn't care. When we first walked in, I stood on the doormat and it shot across the floor leaving me on my back, and I have a spinal condition so I was in terrible pain for a couple of days. Doormat got immediately taken off the floor. One corner of the living area had a vacuum and various cleaning things leaning up against the wall - they couldn't have even put them out of sight? Needless to say, we won't be staying there again. I hate leaving negative reviews, but honestly, these are just the facts as to how we experienced our stay. Such a shame.

**Review for Vantage Point Accommodation** Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the accommodation was fantastic!
However, there were a few areas for improvement that we noticed during our visit: - The main double bedroom with the heating system was quite noisy, producing a knocking sound. Soundproofing the cupboard could help avoid disturbing guests. - None of the bedroom doors had locks, except for the bathroom and toilet. It would be helpful to have child-friendly locks for added privacy. - The bottom drawer of the freezer was broken. - In the double bedroom to the left of the stairs, we found a spider in the bed sheets. This might be due to how or where the sheets are stored. - It would have been helpful to know ahead of time that the sauna wasnât working, especially as this was one of the key features that influenced our booking. - The main door leading to the jacuzzi area didnât lock, so we had to place items near it at night for extra security. - Since we traveled in winter, the living room was quite cold, and it seemed the owners controlled the heating. Thankfully, reception provided us with two electric heaters, which made a big difference. - The whirlpool jets in the baths need better maintenance. We experienced floating debris when turning on the jets, which was unpleasant. These are just some housekeeping issues we noticed during our stay. That said, Vantage Point was absolutely stunning, and it was such a pleasure waking up to the beautiful views every day. We were welcomed with a lovely Christmas tree, mince pies, and some local treats, which added a festive touch to our visit. Weâll definitely consider returning during the warmer monthsâthank you for the wonderful experience!

Well equipped, very clean & well presented & the sofa appears to be new (different from that in the photos) & probably due to previous comments about it being uncomfortable.
We found it to be very comfortable. A âsetâ fire wouldâve been good, or include a small supply of logs/kindling. No cleaning products available although the tea towel/single dishwasher tablet & washing machine capsule & leftover washing up liquid was appreciated. Suggest a single multi-surface product is provided. It might be worth looking at the ironing board as itâs a little unstable. On departure I removed the out of date condiments, in-line with âhouse rulesâ although these were left by previous occupants. I Googled how to use the washer/dryer - again much appreciated to provide one though. We found the key for the side access to the larger rear space but it didnât feel like we could use it & was quite sparse. Overall this accommodation is almost 5 stars & is in a fabulous location: to achieve full marks: 1) Provide multi-surface/purpose cleaning product. 2) Set fire or enough logs/kindling to make ONE, then occupants should fund their own. 3) Update the blue folder with more specific âcottageâ guidanceâ¦suggest sectioning the content cottage guidance/food/things to do. This really is a great place to stay, very homely, well laid out & designed. The points raised are NOT complaints, just opportunities for improvement & itâs very clear the owners are reading & positively actioning feedback they receive. We felt like we wanted to look after it & maintain its standards. Weâd definitely recommend this accommodation.

After the initial wow factor of this property you start to notice it's failings, It was clearly a very stylish and well planned property much loved by it's owners as the furnishings and fittings clearly show, but now the property looks clearly un-loved!
. Please read following: Dead mouse found in bathroom cupboard in bedroom nearest to parking space. Skylight dirty needs cleaning. Decking needs a clean and re-sealing. Hand rail around the decking needs re- sealing. Glass banister around decking needs cleaning, covered in green algae at the edges and full of spiders webs. Pots on decking need weeding. The garden below the decking and each side of the drive way needs sorting, it's over grown and migrating on to the already narrow drive (about 3 MTRS wide) then over grown on to it, it looks like it was well planned but not maintained or looked after. Patio furniture in poor condition, it's usable but the hardwood table top needs sealing and some of the chairs have the paint off them leaving corroded aluminium behind. Overall we had a good stay and were well catered for views of wild life were wounderful, fixing the above would have made it perfect. Overall I would say the property was a 3+/4- out of 5. Would we come back? Probably! Although the beds were VERY firm for us.

Very clean, lovely pictures and plants etc around the apartment, super comfy bed, and located in an ideal position for us, within walking distance to Dartmouth but close to Warfleet Creek to get away from the bustle of the town and walk down to the creek every evening for a quiet drink and sit and listen to the birds. We had no hot water for the last three days, but after reading in the apartment details it would probably take a day to get back to us and discuss our problem, and it had to be an emergency, we decided not to bother as we would then have had only a day left of our holiday. The details in the handbook need updating, vis, incorrect server details for logging on, hob information incorrect, the wrong name of the acomodation was printed on one of the pages, all of this didn't spoil our holiday and we would choose the apartment again as it was clean and comfy and in the right place for us. The details in the handbook could be easily rectified and would add, rather than detract from the company's ratings.
