What our customers say about their holidays
Kathleen - Verified booking
I wouldnât know where to begin with the story of our holiday stay.
The home was everything it states but if there is a problem the Menai Holiday agency is hopeless. There was a very distressing incident during the holiday. Without going into it fully as this matter will be taken further, but the caretaker called, we were in the back garden, my grandchildren were in the front living room. Apparently they knocked but thought no one was in so they let themselves into the house, where they then banged on the living room door where my grandchildren were. They were petrified and frightened that this stranger was stood there and asking where there parents were, the children starting shouting as the caretaker had blocked the doorway so they were unable to run out, in all the commotion and shouting my son stepped out of the shower ( half undressed ) to open the bathroom door to find the caretaker had then walked down the length of the hallway to the kitchen. She said the owner had asked her to call to check the model of the fridge and staining damage on the worktop. By this time the children are crying with shock and needless to say I had come in from the garden and was in complete shock at the commotion and trauma to the children. I contacted Menai letting agency straight away and ( this was a Monday morning ) I explained what had happened and they said they would contact the owner. 24 hours later there was no contact from them. I had to ring them several times, left on hold for ages, or cut off , I did have a ring back at one point to which they would just reassure me it wouldnât happen again. They didnât seem to understand the fact that a complete stranger let themselves in ( thinking we were out, which is even worse ) o our privately rented holiday home. It ruined the holiday for the children, my son took my grandson home on the Tuesday evening as he was to upset he kept talking about it. He just couldnât understand how someone had let themselves in ( thinking we were out ) Our cars were in the drive and the grandchildren were in the living room. I have sent several emails, with the full distressing story but they have all been ignored. I think itâs disgraceful what happened but it seems the agency and owner think it was ok. I have been inundated for feedback since arriving home. Well if this is the only way to get them to realise the distressing effects on my grandchildren then I have no hesitation in putting this story out there so it wonât happen to others. Appalling Service.

We booked Tan Twr over Christmas to be near my family.
It is a stunning house, warm, modern, comfortable and clean. The large windows are great for a feeling of light and space. The views are stunning. The kitchen especially was great for Christmas with the large island coming in handy for buffet food display! This is house is great for hosting a few guests, with its large dining room table and communal space. On arrival we were welcomed with a huge twinkling Christmas tree, Christmas card and small hamper. The TV was also fantastic and we were able to log into all our apps like a Netflix and Disney+. Teenagers very happy! Communication with the owners was really good. Whilst we were there we got confused by the heating as it didnât appear to be on at one point in the evening. After trying to investigate ourselves we sent a text. The owners responded quickly and talked us through the heating. They were very attentive to make sure the heating was working for us, which it did. This was on Christmas Eve so it was very appreciated. I canât find much to fault this house. If pushed comment on anything, I would say that my teenage son was alarmed there were no locks on the bathroom doors. Not a huge problem but it made him a bit uneasy when we had my family pop over. Also, the kitchen knives were all blunt which made chopping veg for Xmas dinner slightly more difficult. However, this is real nit-picking. This is a wonderful house for a stay at any time of the year. We often come to Anglesey for Christmas and Tan Twr has been declared the best stay so far.

Property is in a great spot and close to loads of things to do, places to eat, beaches.
Views from all angles are stunning and the garden areas are large and useable. Kids really enjoyed playing outside in such a big area. The property itself needs heavy maintenance and investment. We couldnât use the conservatory at all because of the amount of mould in it (the blinds are covered in it) and there were mouldy areas in both of the bedrooms at the front of the building. Several things were broken including the toaster (we bought our own and left it for the next people), the lock on the bathroom door (stuck open) and the push button on the master bathroom toilet. The front door is not fitted properly and jams every time it is opened or closed (this is more of a minor issue though) There is also an area of serious water ingress in the utility room on the right hand side by the back door to the garden. The brickwork is saturated (when you touch the wall your hand comes away wet) and if I owned the property I would investigate that as a matter of priority before it becomes a structural issue. On rainy days we had to move all our things out of this room due to the water ingress. It did us ok for a short stay, due to the proximity of it to places we wanted to visit during our holiday and the fact we only really returned to go to bed, but I wouldnât recommend it or entertain staying there again until some investment is made getting it back up to scratch. Properly renovated the place would be an absolute gem.

We had a wonderful week at Caerdegog Ganol.
The building is fascinating and full of character - great to spend time together but plenty of space to spread out too! Very big but also warm and cosy and without doubt, one of the most spotless places we've ever stayed (a credit to whoever cleans it). The quantity and design of the bedrooms worked perfectly for our group ages from mid-teens to late 70's. Our dog isn't a 'chaser' so was able to bumble around in the significant enclosed outdoor space. Outside the boundary, there are cattle and livestock in view, so if you have a mischievous dog, you might have to be more careful. The house is 5 minutes drive from the lovely village of Camaes and we swam in the sea on multiple occasions which shows how good the weather was for Late October! It's only 10 minutes to the likes of Bull Bay where we walked along the coastal path and saw dolphins and seals. The shop, located at the garage (2 minutes away) stocks almost everything and is much bigger and more comprehensive than most 'garage shops' but we got deliveries from Asda and Iceland so they're available if you prefer. Anglesey was beautiful as always so if you want a peaceful break, staying somewhere away from others in something a little different from the traditional holiday lets, this is definitely a place to add to your list!

After reading some of the recent feedback regarding this property we approached our Christmas break with some trepidation.
The negative comments were totally uncalled for and unfounded. On arrival to the property we were greeted with a beautifully laid out Christmas Hamper and the property was very tastefully decorated for Christmas. This property is stunning. It is in the most amazing location with easy access to both the village and the coastal path. The interior is well thought out and very spacious and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Yes, the sofa back was quite low for my 6 foot husband and the front door does need slamming hard but these are very minor details. We experienced a very dramatic storm during our stay and had to use a bungee cord on the main gate to keep it closed but the view of the lightening over the sea more than made up for it. The property was very warm, clean and extremely comfortable. A massive bonus for us, travelling with two Pekingese show dogs, was the outside shower with warm water which enabled us to keep the dogs very clean after our long walks. I have already recommended this property to a number of friends and colleagues and would like to thank the owners for allowing us to spend a wonderful Christmas in their beautiful home.
