What our customers say about their holidays
Gordon - Verified booking
"Well itâs advertised as having a small garden ,but all you get is the space under the fire escape which to use you would have to duck under the metal bar thatâs fixed there.
" The inside is very damp downstairs where the bedrooms and bathroom are located, the bathroom is very mouldy and needs completely gutting to fix the problems, and needs a large extractor fan and a deeper drain to enable the shower to drain away as the water just soaks the floor. The disabled lift is really old and outdated and is starting to rust, itâs also the only way to move between the levels inside, without having to go outside and use the fire escape to go up or down, so the property could definitely use an internal staircase . The property is situated within the beer garden of the pub, which is not ideal when customers are gathered there while using the pub. We did have one meal purchased from the pub which was very nice and the owners were friendly, and the nice little touches were the cream tea that was waiting for us on arrival and the fact that there were dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid and also some tea and coffee items available. Reviewed by Robert Aug 2020 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The above as can be seen is dated Aug 2020. Now in June 2023 it has not had any improvements and certain items within the property have deteriated even further. On arrival there were customers at the tables drinking etc and made no effort to enable us to walk pass with all our luggage and belongings. Many a evening we could not have the door or windows open due to the pub customers being noisy using unpleasant language The external staircase is very rusty in places with bird droppings on the handrail. The description of the property on the website is a candidate for Trade discription. The pictures are far from accurate as they show the 2 bedrooms and bathroom very light where in fact they are dismal and quite dark even in daylight. Reference is made about the shower above and after we used it the first time the water took ages to drain. We contacted the owner who managed to clear the drain, obviously this had not been done for months as it was virtually blocked. With all the bad points it is clearly not inspected by the agents. Cannot understand some of the feedback claiming that it is a desirable property.

We had a wonderful holiday.
Visited The Lizard (superb, unspoiled, two good cafes near lighthouse, good shops in village). Visited St Ives. Parking is pathetic in St Ives, so we parked for free in Long Rock (near Marazion) and went to St Ives on the bus (using senior bus passes for free) - very good journey. St Ives is superb in every way except for parking. Visited Penzance (very interesting) and Mousehole (superb in every way). Newlyn is not worth visiting. Visited St Michael's Mount (superb building, and the gardens were truly amazing). Visited other places too. The apartment was very good. Really enjoyed the view from the lounge/balcony - watching people walking to St Michael's Mount, and the little boats too - watching the local sailing club go out - watching the tide go in and out - watching the Scillonian III arrive and depart from Penzance. Walked on Marazion beach every day. The location of the apartment was excellent, what with good views from it and easy access to main roads for getting about and hand Morrisons/Sainsburys/Tesco just a mile or two away. I suppose everything has a downside. With the apartment it was the locks and doors to get in and out - we did manage to unlock and open all three doors (one to the main building - code, one to the apartment itself - code, one to the balcony - key) and to open the key safe to get the key, but all were difficult and stiff; however, we soon got used to using the balcony door with the key and ignored the other doors, but all this did NOT spoil the holiday. Also, there is an issue with the parking - the spaces were poorly identified and need new lines and numbering - we had to put notes on other cars windscreens to ask the owners to park more tidily; again, this did NOT spoil the holiday.

My friend and i have just had a weeks holiday at Mounts View Marazion, and had a lovely time.
However, part of our holiday was to enjoy movies every evening when the sun went down, and lots of DVD's were bought for this . On the 4th day of our holiday, tues 8th may, the TV no longer worked. We called to report it, and had no joy. We phoned again on wed morning, and wed evening, and then again on thursday. We were told the owners were contacted about this by text, phone and email and had not responded. It was logged by Sam on wed morning who said that this was not a new issue. We never did have it resolved, and i phoned on thursday to see what the situation was, and was told they were waiting for a tv/electrical company to come and sort it out, but obviously by then, it was no good to us as we were leaving friday morning. We did everything we could in re booting it, checking plugs, manually also, and i bought a new set of batteries for the tv remote. It just stopped working!! I hope the new renters have a better time than we did with it? We were also told by a lady on the phone that we would receive financial compensation for this. Although that is not what this is about, we do feel that our holiday was marred by no tv. I have taken photos of the curtains hanging off and the useless telescope it advertises which was held together with pink plastic and glue. I will forward these as and when. I notice on your website the telescope is obviously broken there in the photo. Please note, we were told that the TV issues were NOT a new problem. Very upset really about this as it did change our evenings. I will look forward to your reply asap. Regards Tess Richardson, acting on behalf of Jenny Barden who booked the holiday for both of us.

We had a great time at Mount view.
The apartment is of a good size and has a lovely kitchen/diner with open space lounge overlooking the bay. The deco is cosy and the house was very clean. The views from the terrace are really wonderful and you can just sit down and relax after a day out looking out, watching the sunset and the world go by. The location is perfect to just walk down the beach or the coastal path and the available parking space is really useful as otherwise the other option is the busy car park by the apartment which although cheap, £4,50 a day gets very busy. Pro of the apartment: Location, close to the shops, watersports activities, supermarkets, by the beach, close to other towns (driving 20 /45mins) like St. Ives, Newquay, Kaiance cove, Prussia cove, Penzance etc. Large kitchen (with everything you need!) and sofas from which you can enjoy the views. Good size bathroom/shower. Good size second bedroom with single beds Good Terrace with spectacular views. Fish & Chips right in front of the house. Cons: The double bed in the master bedroom is a little on the small size and not the most comfortable but it didn't ruin our holiday at all, we have a super king at home so it was just something to get use to for us. The pressure of the toilet is very low, this means that you may need to flash the toilet a few times but again not a big issue. Overall we really enjoyed the stay and we would love to come back to this apartment!

Mount View is certainly a great apartment with a fantastic view.
âA view to die forâ The apartment had a good layout with generous size and was very well decorated and very clean. Housekeeping kept in touch to check if we needed a clean linen/change. Very friendly lady. Thank you :) The kitchen was so well kitted out with more than enough pots and pans to use and the dishwasher a plus. We loved the telescope on a stand which was used often. We had meals on the balcony to enjoy the wonderful views over the bay/beach and St Michaels Mount. Marazion is a town with pubs, shops for all we needed. The bus stops just outside on the main road made the coast/towns very accessible. We enjoyed the Coast bus rides to Penzance, beautiful St Ives and Lands End. We had a great time. Sadly the double bed mattress needs replacing. As it dips down the whole left side near the wardrobes. Hubby felt he was falling out of bed. This is not because of bed preference it was so obvious even when looking at. As mentioned by other reviews Water/toilet flow had low pressure but to be fair works had started to improve this by the water board whilst we were there. Would recommend and would love to return one day. Thought it was good value for money. Great find for a beach, coastal holiday break with an amazing view.
