What our customers say about their holidays

It is a high price for basic accommodation.
The main room that has been refurbished is lovely, and a wonderful space. Sadly the rest of the house is not to the same standard. It lacked things that would make it so much more welcoming: a door mat so we didn't slip over on the kitchen floor with wet shoes, a blind on the bathroom window so there was some privacy, a cable to connect the supplied DVD player to the TV so it could be used, more than 6 pieces of crockery, cutlery etc so we didn't need to wash up after every meal. Even some washing up liquid would be helpful, or perhaps something welcoming when people arrive, like a pint of milk so you can make a hot drink. The clothes storage in the bedrooms is variable (a sideboard in the downstairs bedroom, yet there is plenty of room for a small wardrobe and chest of drawers). It wasn't possible to access the back gate to use the shortcut to the beach when we visited, due to the weeds and brambles. I was surprised by some of the safety elements that were lacking: a rusty saw and large knife on the side in the open greenhouse, easily accessible to children, the glass in one of the kitchen cupboards held in by sellotape, and doors from the bedrooms directly into the eaves of the house with all the fibreglass insulation. I would expect these to be locked or at least a piece of furniture in front. Overall, we didn't feel it matched the quality of other Sykes properties we have rented, we didn't feel comfortable, and thought there was a lot of elements that could easily be thought about from a guest point of view and improved.

Well, what a gem of a place!
Unusually, it is much nicer in actuality than the on-line photos make it appear. Fabulous garden, with plenty of space for the dog, and in the sun for almost the entire day. Large parking spot towards the end of a quiet residential lane. The house is spacious, very comfortable and well-appointed (but be sure to read the manual before trying to find the cutlery drawer!). Wifi speed was good, and the TV has an Amazon Fire-stick if you want to watch your streaming channels. The house overlooks the main road from Saundersfoot to Tenby, but traffic noise is unobtrusive, even in the garden, and unnoticeable from inside. It's a ten minute walk down TO the town centre and beaches, but quite a lot longer on the way back - it is a bit of a brute of a hill! (There's a very frequent bus service though, that stops outside the garden gate of the house if you're feeling lazy coming back). Absolutely nothing we could pick fault with, and a very great deal to commend it. We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay in a place that immediately felt like home, and will definitely be revisiting.

Pinewood is a gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location.
It is well maintained and very clean, comfortable and spacious inside with a beautiful garden outside. I was a bit concerned about the garden not being âfully enclosed â and have chatted to the owner about this, but it didnât by any means spoil our stay here. We have two mad escaping spaniels and they will find the smallest gap in a hedge so we did keep them on their leads when we sat outside. Parking is tight at the front of the property but we parked at the back of the cottage where there is space for two cars and itâs much easier to get in and out. We found we hardly used the car all week because the location is ideal for walking to Saundersfoot, Wisemanâs Bridge, Amroth, Tenby and beyond and you can always catch the bus back if you need it! There is also a lovely wooded path down to Glen Beach, which is dog friendly, and where you can stroll along to Monkstone Beach at the tip of the headland when the tide is low. We have had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Pinewood and would happily return in the future.

Pinewood is a beautiful roomy place to stay.
The views must be spectacular in the summer. The garden is nice if a little steep but is negotiable via the gravel/shingle path. We were 2 couples and two dogs staying and there was lots of room to sit together or separately if you wished. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, good selection of cooking equipment along with a 50:50 fridge freezer. Lovely kitchen with plenty of storage. Parking for 3 cars but the lane is narrow. So take your time getting in and out. My only comment would be the lack of toilet tissue and hand soap in the bathroom, so take some with you, rather than unpack your car and then having to pop out to get these essentials. The mop was absent so I couldnât mop through which I would have preferred to do as the weather wasnât brilliant and with 4 adults and two lively dogs there were footprints on the wood flooring, but I let the owner know as he had emailed me direct and was fine with this. Beds were comfortable and it was nice and warm to come back to after a blustery run with the dogs on the beach.

This is a lovely big house only 5 minutes walk from the edge of Saunderfoot's centre and then not far to the beach.
The views out of the conservatory are very relaxing and it felt like an excellent place to spend time in and use as a base to go to Saundersfoot easily as well as visit all the amazing places in Pembrokeshire nearby. The house has good facilities and lots of space for our family of 5. The kitchen is really well equipped compared to some other places we've been. The beach stuff and crabbing equipment was really well appreciated and we liked the board games and puzzles left in the lounge. We've seen others comments on the garden. It's true that it isn't the best garden for being in and needs some TLC, but the photos clearly show you what it is like. For us the garden wasn't the focus as we are so close to the beach. Suggestions of things that would be useful: Oven gloves, more cutlery (especially tea spoons), a doormat on the inside of the front door, an airer to hang up wet things when you come back from the beach. More detailed instructions for the washing/dryer machine settings.
