  We had an amazing break at Sea Sands in March 2022.

  The property is amazing and the photos don’t quite do it justice. The view from the living room and master bedroom is breathtaking and the careful details in the design of the building and layout truly make this special. We had no problems with our stay at all, however the owner Gina was very friendly providing all of the relevant information needed for our stay prior to visiting. The accommodation itself was modern and sleek but still kept its homely and comfortable feel. The property is airy and bright and the furnishings are high quality. Peaceful and natural surroundings brought a feeling of calm throughout the entire week, especially looking out to such a wonderful view of the sea. The hot tub was brilliant, including the outside hot shower which is a blessing in winter months. High quality towels and bedding provided, along side toiletries and a lovely welcome pack which is a really nice touch. There is everything you can think of regarding cooking equipment and this was the highest standard of any property we have stayed in. I can’t speak highly enough of this property and would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the Cornish coast.

  Sea Sands is beautiful, luxurious and comfortable.

  It has everything you could need and it offers magnificent unobstructed views across the Celtic Sea! A spectator sport is to watch the shipping, air traffic or the wait to spot sea life with your binoculars. The sky at night is also a beautiful sight with the Milky Way right above you. Watch out too for the space station and star link satellite train if the clear skies permit. It is minutes away from the beautiful beach where the surfers love to play and at the permitted time of year the dogs can also roam. Praa Sands is lovely, a small place with few shops and pubs but what it's got is more than enough if you like simplicity, some pub grub, and the freshest sea air while you sip your favourite tipple. Gina (property owner) keeps a watchful eye on the standard you should expect on arrival and mid-way and was quick to sort a few minor issues. She is friendly and very helpful. All together a wonderful holiday destination and we hope to be back very soon. :-)

  The only issue regarding the facilities is that there is only one off-road car parking, although there is street parking close-by.

  We were aware of this before booking. I cannot recall if the information provided prior to arrival indicates that the front third of a building is in fact a private dwelling. We had a plumbing crisis during our stay involving water over-flowing from the main bathroom shower, passing through the bunkroom light fitting en-route to the floor below. A combination of luck and quick-thinking on our party gave us time to remove the soft furnishings and place buckets, so no long term damage. The person occupying the bunkroom for four nights had to sleep the last two on a mattress in the lounge. The owner responded well to the issue and appeared to have resolved it the following morning. Unfortunately there was a minor overflow the next day from the same shower. We reported this and we assume it was dealt with, but received no feedback. We did not use the shower again. Apart from this, we were impressed with the cleanliness, comfort and facilities of this cottage.

  "The location is fantastic, two minutes’ walk to the beach, two minutes to the train station to take a train to St Ives which is MUCH easier than parking and cheaper!

  You can walk to St Ives to (or run) even with the children, a nice steady walk rewarded by a tea and scone at the end! The accommodation has outstanding views of the beach/St Ives (fireworks at New Year), showers were out of this world (hard to get out of once in!), all the utensils/white goods were high end, had everything you could ask for. My husband and children found the TV’s with sky Q a huge bonus for films and sports on lazy afternoons! I made use of the washing machine! The beds we found extremely comfortable and cosy, the older girls LOVED their bunk beds! The welcome pack (sparkly wine, apple juice etc) was a lovely welcome and needed after 6 hours in the car! Checking in was simple and straight forward and was wonderful to be able to get into the property a few hours early. We had the best 4 nights away and can’t wait to return! "Antony Grace

  We had a wonderful stay at Byre, a charming cottage in Camelford.

  The property was very comfortable and cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and spacious living room. The cottage was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with a lot of character and charm. We especially enjoyed the log burner, which added to the warmth and ambience of the place. The cottage was located in a quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was a great base to explore the attractions in north Cornwall and the stunning beaches and coastal paths. Camelford itself was a quaint and friendly town, with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. We also appreciated the helpful information and tips included in the welcome folder. We would highly recommend Byre to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Cornwall. We had a lovely stay and hope to return soon.
