What our customers say about their holidays

10th November 2019.
Group of three. The accomodation we chose was the Dragon lodge and what a delight it was. Spacious, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Kev and Julie, were absolutely fantastic and provided all our needs and more. The secure entry ensured no one could access the lodge as the key is placed in key safe upon arrival. The rooms were airy and the central heating system controls are modern and easy to use. In fact all the facilities are first class and new. The hot tub is just wonderful and a lovely place to be in the evening as the dark draws in and gets colder. Its cleaned and treated daily. The log burner is fantastic and heats up the lodge in no time at all. I struggled with getting it going at first but a quick message to our hosts and Kev arrived within ten minutes to get it started for me. Thats one of biggest stand out points too, that our hosts were courteous, very pleasant and handled any queries we had in a timely manner. The kitchen is modern, new and has everything you need for your stay. Tea, coffee, sugar, bread, a complimentary cake and even little things like dishwasher tablets were provided that make things easier and more comfortable for you to settle in. There is a smart TV with remotes in all bedrooms, the beds are super comfortable and even my best mate with back problems had a good nights rest with no issues. The bathrooms are also a highlight with new rain style shower heads that give you great hot water with a decent pressure. There are plenty of towels given in the rooms for the bathrooms and hot tub use. Your children can also have fun trying to find the elusive Dewi the dragon that is hidden somewhere within the lodge. Parking is fine, close and adjacent to the lodge with no problems for access with anyone with mobility issues or wheelchair users. My friends and I had an amazing time during our short stay and we would just like to say a big thankyou to Kev and Julie for being so hospitable. We will definitely be returning in the future as its an A* venue.

Have very mixed impressions after our week long stay.
Many things were great: the park, the hot tub, the fact that other dogs were on lead, the lodge itself. However housekeeping and maintenance was erratic and inconsistent: we had to clean black mould in the ensuite bathroom before we dared to use a shower, there was black mould on the ceiling in both bathrooms and our car park became a puddle after rain. It was very difiicult to pack our stuff in a car while wading through ankle deep mud on the day of departure. I reported the bathroom issue on the 2nd day of our stay and said that wr needed to use a shower after using a hot tub, so I cleaned it. I also asked for a different hoover as one in property was overfilled and smelled unfresh, and a dustpan to be able to clean around the fire. None of my requests were actioned. I heard an apology for mould, but there was no real follow up on other things. In overall we are not sure if we are going to be back. The lodge has a lot of potential and it is a great shame that it is not looked after properly. Hot tub was excellent, hot on arrival and monitored daily. I believe it is maintained by an external contractor. Also some things in the lodge were broked: the kitchen recycling bin had a broken lid and a lounge radiator valve was detached! One of the sofas still needs attention as mentioned in a previous review. We paid just under £500 for a week, does this jusify poor state of the lodge and lack of staff attention? Perhaps things are let slip in quieter season. Only giving 2 points for maintenance for the hot tub. Really disappointed with customer service and poor level of cleanliness. The welcome pack was nice, but not enough for a week stay, we had to buy a lot of household products ourselves.

I've been staying here in various stone rush lake side propertys over the last 8 years.
As I said Last year some of these property's are on the decline had problems with builders last year ect with property problems not as good at when I first started staying here. I love the location pracefull tranquil lodges squirrels, birds with stream out back. I stayed in number s14 this time wasn't very clean dirty floors with viable areas of mold. The property had a strange smell on arrival and was more apparent round the sink area. The shower tray and toilet had visable signs of a leak and some of the thermostats on the rads were actually broken and some did not work as they should. The oven when fired up had a bad smell due to not being cleaned propely if not at all very simler problems to last year that were reported. There vas no dust pan and brush so I brought a cheap one and left it there as there was only a sweeping brush. I know all these lodges have the basics and more every one does and they should all be checked and replaced as and when nessesery you shouldn't have to ask. The over all experience with all the lodges is fantastic but the small things do matter as well as every thing should work and be there. The hot tub maintenance is spot on someone comes round every day checks levels ect and makes sure the waters all good to go. The last few years I've really noticed the decline in property maintenance and the lovley attention to detail is no longer there. The old mill is nice and staff are really polite and very helpful.

We were all absolutely thrilled with the lodge as soon as we saw it.
It is beautifully furnished throughout, with a very comfortable, large sitting room/dining area. The kitchen is very well fitted out with fridge, freezer, dish-washer, microwave oven, double oven and the washing machine in the hall cupboard. All the utensils and kitchen ware were first class too. The four bedrooms were very comfortable and it was very useful having three bathrooms. The lodge is in a great spot within the park, with three other privately owned lodges, close to the hotel and the park facilities. The pool was very popular and used every day, even on the days we went to Mablethorpe beach.. We hired bikes and everyone loved the forest laser game. There are other facilities on site which we didn`t get chance to try. There were some good walks in the forest and we walked to the next pretty village across the golf course for lunch one day We also ate at the hotel one evening. The area is known as an AONB and we all thought it deserved that. We shopped in the pretty nearby town of Louth and spent a few days at Mablethorpe with it`s beautiful beach although we didn`t like the town. We had a super holiday in the lodge and plan to return one day. The owners contacted me before our holiday and when we arrived, to make sure we were happy with everything. They very kindly left us a Louth Plum cake and a much appreciated bottle of fizz in the fridge..

The beautiful Tanqueray lodge situated overlooking the 10th hole of Kenwick park golf club.
Simply a paradise for the keen golfer and wonderful for a Christmas break with Xmas decorations and a Christmas tree along with Xmas treats and Prosecco chilling in the fridge from Miranda the owner. As a family of keen golfers including two professionals we managed to play three times during the Christmas break. Just lovely to come back to the lodge after a great round of golf and a fantastic meal at the clubhouse in the beautiful 19th century grade II listed building. We have stayed at Kenwick Park four times in four different lodges but this was the best with an open plan lounge/kitchen/ diner so all the family were together. The hotel spa facilites were easily accessible by foot from the lodge down a pathway a short distance away. The spa had a swimming pool, sauna and steam room along with various spa treatments available. The lodge had everything you could possibly need and the owner Miranda was available at all times and even regularly checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Just the perfect golfing holiday at the perfect location. We will defiantly be coming back to Tanquerary Lodge as soon as we can.
