What our customers say about their holidays
Clare - Verified booking
We took the apartment as an alternative because Sykes cancelled our original booking in Porthmadog the day before we were to take possession of it for a week.
You provided three alternatives, none of which were in Porthmadog. This particular apartment was some 30 minutes drive away. There was a beach in LLanbedrog 12 minutes walk away and 45 minute uphill walk back! Quite a trek carrying beach equipment! Lovely on the one sunny day we had though. I donât like to have to drive when on holiday but was forced to as we wanted to visit Portmeirion a short walk from Porthmadog. The property itself was an attic conversation. It was very nicely done with plenty of room and comfortable beds. The TV was much too complicated! All we wanted to do was turn it on without fiddling with several remotes. Three flights of stairs kept us fit I suppose! We didnât use the en-suite, or at least only in an emergency, as the macerator toilet was scary! The main bathroom had a dream of a drench shower, however and a beautifully deep bath. We needed a step ladder to operate the windows and happily found one in a cupboard. On arrival storm Betty was raging and the roof windows had been left open, so we had a bit of a flood to clean up and seating to dry with a couple of hair dryers. Also the kitchen tap leaks unless it is turned to cold when shut off - another flood to clean up! Walking was nice to Abersoch and to Pwllheli but taxis back were very expensive, £15 for 4 miles, and hard to come by. We tended to travel to Pwllheli where we could get a train to travel to Barmouth and beyond, so all was not lost.

Absolutely gorgeous house!
Had everything and more that we could possibly need. Everything was lovely and good quality. Loads of space, especially having the little snug room that the kids could use if they wanted to watch a different TV channel. The showers are amazing! The little garden is a sun trap and lovely and peaceful. Lovely pubs and cafes all within walking distance. The fish and chip show opposite was very nice! There is a little steep path (about 3-4 paces) to get into the property but it wasnât a problem for us but not sure about a wheelchair or a pram would be able to manage quite as easily as us. Parking was a mild inconvenience and there is parking opposite for an hour and then I never had a problem finding an another spot later on. The carpet shop at the front of the property has changed names and now has a new sign so bare that in mind if your using that as a landmark! I did find the strict instructions about leaving the property as clean as you find it or risk loosing the £150 good house keeping bond and stripping all the beds and having to be out by 10am a big headache while trying to keep 3 children occupied and not making anymore mess! Overall I would definitely stay in the property again.

The flat is very spacious and the large living room, plus extra smaller living room are really useful.
It is clean and well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pans/utensils. The flat has been renovated and decorated to a high standard, and is bright and airy. The ensuite, bathroom and downstairs shower and toilet give guests lots of options. The ensuite shower is excellent, however care needs to be taken with the downstairs shower and tray, as within a few seconds of using the shower the water started to flood the floor. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are a good size. I used the front main bedroom and due to the lack of curtains, I did struggle in the early hours, as the sun poured in through the venetian blinds, woke me up and made it difficult for me to go back to sleep. Anyone who is planning on staying in the property is advised to take a black-out eye mask if they are sensitive to light when trying to sleep. The addition of black out curtains would make the stay completely comfortable, especially at the time of year we stayed, which was early June. The location is excellent, both for walking around in Criccieth, exploring the Llyn Peninsula, visiting Portmeirion. The outside space was very pleasant and a good place to sit out in as chairs and tables are provided.

We enjoyed our stay very much at Llety Ednyfed .
.... it was clean spacious, and comfortable with everything we needed, and a lovely garden area which unfortunately due to the weather we didn't use. It was nice to be on the High Street - being able to watch the comings and goings, and extremely central for all Criccieth has to offer. Not so great for loading and unloading - although we did manage to park not too far away for that short time, however that main road can get extremely busy and congested pretty easily with the coaches stopping at the hotel next door but one. The other snag was the ramp access at the back - leading up to the entrance. This was pretty steep.... so with heavy cases and if bad weather this could be a real problem for anyone with mobility problems. We didn't have any - but still found it a bit of a struggle, and not sure if this was mentioned anywhere in the write-up.

Property was in a lovely position and very clean.
We did find the bed very uncomfortable and as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis this was a problem. It may be because most of the cottages we rent no longer have a divan with a sprung mattress but wooden frames and deep mattresses. Every time one of us moved the other felt it and that spoilt our sleep. We could not open a window in either the lounge or bedroom as they had been painted over and so it was very stuffy especially at night. The kitchen cupboards were also an issue for someone who is only five feet. My six foot six husband had to open them every time I needed something as the handles were too high and they were too stiff. Overall it was a good property and I would recommend it but we are back to our Devon barn conversion next year as it is much more suitable for me.
