What our customers say about their holidays

This was our 3rd stay in different cottages in Norfolk and our favourite so far.
It was clean and tidy when we arrived and appreciated the welcome gifts of tea, coffee, milk and a box of chocolates. We were a 9 minute walk from the beach and were fortunate to have great weather so spent most of our time there. My husband and daughter had a surfing lesson, which was the highlight of my daughterâs week, whilst my son preferred heading to the amusement arcade, and the dog learnt her way to the beach very quickly insisting on walks there at every opportunity. At the end of the road thereâs a lovely butchers and deli, a Post Office, greengrocer, gift shop and clothes shop just around the corner. Fish and chips from The Ship Inn were delicious but we were disappointed by the slowness of the table service when we ate in the restaurant. We also ate at The View Restaurant, which had both lovely food and excellent service. The property has a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. My disabled father in law came with us and I only provide this as a comment not a criticism as the property does not profess to be set up for disabled access. Both the front and rear entrances have a couple of steps so you canât wheel a chair into the property. Also, the downstairs bathroom and shower are quite small making it difficult for a disabled person to move around and shower successfully. My father in law still enjoyed his stay despite this. The only negative comments we would make about the property are that slightly better cooking facilities would be appreciated such as sharp knives (they were all blunt making cutting veg difficult), a large frying pan/wok, a couple of ovenproof dishes (I had brought ingredients for lasagne but then had nothing to cook it in) and a proper chopping board. Also we couldnât find instructions for the tv/DVD etc and had to give up using them by the final evening. However Iâm just being fussy. Overall we had an amazing stay and didnât want to leave. We have already booked to go back next summer.

This was our 2nd visit to Flint Cottage.
The house itself didnât disappoint with plenty of room for myself, husband, 2 kids, dog, and my father in law, who spends most of his time in a wheelchair. We love being so close to the beach and the kids (age 10 and 13) enjoy going off by themselves for an ice cream or visit to the arcade. I love the independent shops and always treat myself to a trip to Jupe! The only thing that let us down was the cleanliness of the property. We are not normally fussy about such things but for the amount we were paying, and not being able to gain access until 4pm, we expected a better standard. On this occasion under the furniture hadnât been cleaned where we found lots of dust and two small shards of glass by one chair. The dishwasher needed a deep clean and we had to re wash the crockery and glasses (one of which was cracked) by hand before they could be used. Dirty crockery had also been left in the dishwasher upon our arrival. The skirting boards were very dusty and the main dressing table needed cleaning. Also, the handle for the grill didnât fit and there were no oven gloves, both of which were really needed. Once we had cleaned the above, we really enjoyed our stay. It was just a disappointing start but it wouldnât stop us returning on our next visit to Norfolk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at The Old Rectory Coach House.
The owners Grenville and Rachel made us feel very welcome, a lovely cake was waiting for us on our arrival. We had glorious weather all week which was a real bonus. We visited many places during our weekâs stay. Norwich with its lovely shops, the cathedral well worth a visit, unfortunately the castle wasnât open and will be closed for at least another year, upgrading the interior. We went to the Theatre too which completed our day. Cromer is worth a visit for their dressed crabs. Southwold a beautiful seaside town, with a very interesting pier, great Fish and chips too. Ramworth Broad Nature Reserve, Beckles, Wroham, Horning, all well worth a visit. The Ferry House Inn great for food also the The George and Dragon just 5 minutes drive away. We had a day visiting Sandringham and enjoyed a cream tea. All in all the Coach House is a lovely place to stay and is situated in the right area to visit many places in Norfolk and enjoy the countryside, the city and the coast line.

Flintstone was a lovely cottage in a great location in Mundesley within walking distance to the beach, shops, pub, field and play park.
Very well decorated and plenty of space for 5 adults and 2 grandchildren with a nice conservatory and welcome pack. A few points for attention however include: The badly brown stained toilet bowls which we improved straight away with domestos. The TV reception was really bad and we couldn't get the DVD or Blu Ray players working. This was resolved following 2 visits of the maintenance man and our request for instructions. We note that this was a similar problem for a previous reviewer also in August. Suggest leaving instructions in the House Guide and a review of TV reception. Some light bulbs also need replacing. The garden although a nice area would benefit from some tidying and cutting back shrubs around the patio table and clearance of some accumulated rubbish. A further enhancement would be to provide a washing line for beachwear, towels etc. Despite these we had a nice time and would have no hesitation in returning for another holiday

Nice cottage and location with a few niggles.
No hand soap is unusual, itâs something we would expect to have these days. The key safe is difficult to access for anyone with mobility issues or arthritis in their hands. The vacuum is very old, noisy and smells awful. More crockery would help reduce the amount of dishwasher runs. The twin bedroom light flickers badly. The sheets and pillowcases are nice and everyone said their bed was comfortable. Other places I have stayed have been more welcoming and considerate with things like salt and pepper, vinegar and sauces available to use, a pint of milk in the fridge, nice hand soap etc. I have had eight or more requests to complete feedback starting from the week before we went and a â How was your stayâ a day before we left. Please stop sending them.
