  Stayed here over the Goth weekend and wouldn’t stay again. It’s basic, a place to sleep but not much else. Lack of basic amenities, no toilet paper, no working heating, no WiFi, toilet flush takes many tries to work, hot tap barely worked. And it’s a fair walk to the co-op to get the basic necessities that are provided by most other cottages. Other people in our party stayed in a bigger cottage near the abbey which was cheaper and they provided a welcome basket containing basics like teabags, milk etc. so I’d look elsewhere if you’re staying in Whitby. Place was also not very clean. Black mould in the shower, dirty mirrors and hair all over the floors. Knelt down in the bedroom while unpacking and was covered in what I assume was dog hair. Also if you bring a pet, check under the wardrobe in the bedroom as there’s loads of dog toys stuck under there too. Located on a noisy street which can’t be helped but expect to be woken up by the boat yard opposite at 6am and you will hear every person who walks past through the night as the windows are single glazed. Minus the mould the shower is good though, very powerful. Overall, for the price there’s a lot better places to stay in Whitby so I would look elsewhere.

  Nice apartment in great location just where I wanted to be, central for all amenities including town centre, beach, harbour, shops etc, apartment had everything I needed quiet with all the essentials clean and tidy and well equipped, parking not a problem with permits and availablity. Weather was perfect all week. Left some items in apartment and owner contacted me to let me know and is posting items back out to me so many thanks and grateful for that. Will definetly return again. Whitby and surrounding area is lovely and one of my favourtite destinations.

  Stopped at Seagul Vista, lovely cosy cottage very quiet, the views from room window were stunning. Only ten minutes walk to sea front. Lovely cafe Cranberry Swamp behind d cottage. Loads of shops and restaurants. Towels are supplied and the washer dryer was ideal to get your washing done before you repack for home. Complimentary basket 2 small bottle s of beer and small bottle of prosecco plus lively cookies. All in all a very enjoyable stay would definitely go again. Quick response from Susan the owner when we had a problem with shower but all sorted.

  The house itself was a lovely place and well kept. No scratch card for parking supplied. Key pad was about 4 " of the ground and was difficult to use. Got a parking ticket on our first day. Could not put the centrel heating on as it was set as Summer time in September. Had to call the booking agent a few times who were brilliant one time when we were locked out as we couldn't open the key safe. I think the parking situation in Whitby is horrendous. Not your fault but could make aware to avoid getting a ticket.

We've been coming here over thirty years at various properties & our standards are high. We give praise when deserved & complain very, very rarely, Richard, Dan n Ryan( Tracey always with us ).
