What our customers say about their holidays

Absolutely amazing.
All the facilities and extras you could wish for. Exceptionally clean - we don't usually fully unpack as drawers & wardrobes are often not clean enough or smell musty but this time our cases were empty and tucked away till repacked. A true home from home. The decor and furnishings were lovely. The view from the lounge and kitchen were amazing - sea and castle and Esplanade Gardens. We loved sitting at the table with our meals. The smart TV for a great addition as I could log into my Amazon Prime account if I wanted to. Nothing to not love and we will definitely stay there again. That part of Scarborough has always been our favourite so the location is also perfect. Quick tip if you want to avoid the steps/slope to the blue bridge into town turn left and then at the end turn right so you can walk along Ramshill and go over Valley Bridge. They're working on the cliff lift but it's a long job of course. Also go the St Martin's Church for the amazing Pre-Raphaelite designs and fab cafe (they have a proper cafe kitchen so you can have cappuccino etc, and delicious Welsh Rarebit and home made cakes). Clock Cafe is also always lovely and has one of the best views in Scarborough - if the flag isn't flying, it's closed.

Everything went smoothly.
Full instructions given on how to get in the property. Was as amazing as it looked and very much enjoyed our stay. Lots of thoughtful little touches especially being able to have a coffe or tea or cold drink as soon as we arrived without having to go out to find the shops. it was nice to just drop the bags and sit on the balcony and enjoy the view with a cold drink. The flat was clean and tidy with a homely feel. Very spacious and with lots of light. There are two lots of steps up to the flat. There lovely gardens across the road where people often walk dogs, Small Sainsbury a short walk away. Good bus service. The boat ride to Whitby is a good experience - take binoculours to see the seals. Lovely local pub The Cask Inn. Food is good and it has a weekly Jazz club on Wednedays but you need to get there early to queue up. There was a cost to get in but think the price varies depending on who is playing.

An absolutely superb property. The location was what initially attracted us. When we entered the property we were very impressed with - everything. The layout, the quality of decor, furnishings and equipment were all beyond our expectations. It was like being at home; every time we wanted something it was there; televisions, radios, glasses, crockery, kitchen utensils - even a sieve for flour!! - and more hangers than I have ever seen. The welcome pack was just the beginning of having everything we needed. Open a cupboard and there was washing up equipment, dishcloths, cleaning materials; all the little things we take for granted at home which so often are not in rented accommodation. Real caring attention to detail here. Supremely comfortable. This was without doubt the finest self-catering accommodation We have ever stayed in. Full credit to the owners. We will be back.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment which by far exceeded our expectations.
The beds were very comfortable with the memory foam mattresses. This apartment is large enough for 2 couples or a family of 5 without being on top of each other with 1 bedroom and bathroom private to the rest of the rooms. The owners have done a lovely job with the decor and furnishings and in spite of the large proportions, the flat is very cosy. The view from the floor to ceiling windows is to die for looking out over the castle and south bay.It has everything you might need with lots of little extras. We will definitely be returning as we visit Scarborough several times a year.It is situated very close to the Spa Cliff lift and there is a good selection of shops close by.If you find it a little far to walk from the town centre,I reccomend you catch the number 1 bus to Cayton which stops very close to the appartment on West Street.

We had a great week in Archie's Anchor.
The apartment was modern, spacious, clean and well equipped. The living area is huge with amazing views to the sea. The modern kitchen has everything you could need. The beds are comfortable and having an en suite bathroom as well as a family bathroom was a great addition. We didn't have a problem parking and always managed to get parked right outside the apartment. The location is great and so near the beach. It's just a shame the cliff lift wasn't working during our stay. The nearby Mexican resturant El Gringos is well worth a visit. Highly recommend Archie's Anchor for a family holiday. Thanks for having us â¤ï¸
