  This wonderful cottage is located in a private location just above the town of Dolgellau. The only sound one hears outside the cottage is the occasional bleat of sheep in the nearby fields and the wonderful birdsong from the many various birds that visit the area surrounding the cottage. Idyllic is the only word to describe the location of this lovely cottage, which has been renovated and furnished with such love, care, and attention to detail. It is wonderfully equipped throughout with everything that one could need for a really comfortable stay. There was a Welcome Pack of locally sourced goodies waiting in the kitchen for us on arrival, which was a nice touch, and it set the tone for the rest of the week, which was spent exploring the stunning countryside mainly in the car, as our hiking days sadly are behind us!! All in all a fabulous week spent here and it goes without saying that a return visit is on the cards.

  We had a most enjoyable week at Gellilwyd Fach. The house is comfortable and spacious, and the surroundings are peaceful and scenic. There are walks straight from the door. We appreciated the thoughtful and generous welcome basket, and all the care and attention that has clearly gone into making this an excellent holiday cottage – one of the best of the many we have stayed in over the years. The kitchen was very well equipped; I can’t think of anything that was missing, and I do a lot cooking. A good night’s sleep was also ensured: we loved the luxury of the super-king-size beds and the truly palatial main bedroom! Thank you so much, Elwyn and Iola, for a lovely and memorable holiday.

  We spent a fantastic week at the cottage and were blessed with good weather allowing us to enjoy sitting outside for coffee and breakfast. The cottage is located in an idyllic spot..quiet and overlooking a tree lined valley but close enough to Dolgellau that you can pop in to town in 5 minutes. The cottage is very well appointed and was extremely comfortable. We Were very pleased and grateful to find a hospitality basket with local fare, biscuits cheese. eggs milk, all provided. Coffee and tea Also. All in all an excellent cottage and great host Elwyn who came by to greet us and water the three resident Rams in the field in front of the house. Great holiday! Thanks for having us.

  A really lovely property in the most delightful setting with stunning views in all directions. You would never know that ‘civilisation’ - Dolgellau - is a couple of minutes drive away. Complete peace and quiet, under the shelter of Cader Idris. The myriad hues of the vibrant green of the trees, fields and hedgerows and the drifts of violet blue bluebells will linger as part of our memory of this lovely haven. Not to mention the sound of bubbling streams and the amazing diversity of birds. The property is 10/10, but the setting is 20/10! Already anticipating our return.

  We had a lovely week in this property.

  It's in a gorgeous setting, with great views and easy access to lots of fantastic hill walks and the coast. The cottage is very comfortable and we were welcomed with fresh flowers and a thoughtful hamper filled with local treats, as well as chocolates. Only small thing is that the wifi was very weak (which made it hard for my daughter to do her dissertation) and, although the kitchen was very well equipped, we could have done with an additional frying pan. All in all, a great place to stay and we'd thoroughly recommend it.
