What our customers say about their holidays
Rachel - Verified booking
The Lizard is a really great spot to holiday and has a great vibe.
There are plenty of things to do- lots of shops for delicious ice cream, places for food and drink (for a real treat head to Annâs pasties- WOW!) or to see the local sights, check out the most southerly point in the UK, head to Kynance Cove, etc. The house itself was really great, very much a home from home. It accommodated 4 adults and 2 children plus a little dog perfectly for a week! Well equipped, most things have been thought of from washing up liquid, to dishwasher tablets, to toilet rolls and even some washing capsules for clothes. I have stayed in properties where nothing but 2 tea towels were provided! There was also a cream tea in the fridge on our arrival. The beds were comfortable, the bedding nice. Aside from the shower on the top floor being a bit temperamental with its temperature and perhaps being a bit smaller than weâre used to (personal preference) the view from the doors more than makes up for it. The listing and the photos are accurate. A couple of small points- there are some parts of the sofa that are quite worn but itâs generally comfortable and sat 4 adults easily. The windowsills in the living room (behind the sofa) and in the twin room were dusty, not a big deal. We had to wash some of the kitchen items before using them, probably as a result of a previously overstuffed dishwasher. All in all, nothing that would stop us returning, just a bit of balanced feedback as these were so minor in what was frankly a superb holiday! Thank you so much

This property is mediochre accommodation in an outstanding location.
Parking , even to unload, is tricky with very little space available. There are some fundamental issues which make it very uncomfortable. The floor in the bedroom is on a slope so the bed slopes meaning you roll downhill. The mattress is very soft and the bedframe has minimal support resulting in a very uncomfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower good but there is only a little shaving mirror. There is a bigger mirror stored at the end of the hanging unit in the bedroom but it is difficult to get out and there is no room to stand it once out. There were brown marks on the towels and sheet (possibly rust) and a lot of dust under the bed, where things like the ironing board are stored, so this was dusty. The kitchen was missing some basic items, like a vegetable peeler and a grater. In the living room there was a bit of clutter which, in a small space with not many surfaces, just gets in the way. The floor of the living room is also on quite a slope so it is really uncomfortable to sit on the sofa as you slide off the seats. The out side area is shabby with old furniture and dead /dying plants and weeds in pots. It really felt like staying in a caravan, but with the price tag of something more luxurious. Not great value for money. Also to note, the property is up for sale which may affect future bookings.

This was an enchanting, compact cottage, well-laid out and mostly equipped (although I couldn't find a cheese grater and it has no washing machine).
At first, I didn't think it had a toaster, but I found it on day two in a cupboard. The view is unparalleled, and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The village is picture-postcard perfect, and the three places to get food or eat are on the doorstep and serve good food. The local shop is very limited, so don't rely on it for your provisions. We loved our stay in Beach Cottage, which was immaculate with high-quality white goods, but there are a few things that could be improved: there's nowhere nice to curl up with a book as the sofa is very uncomfortableâyou always feel like you're going to slide off it; the outside furniture looks better than it feels and is tethered (probably to stop it blowing away) in a way that makes it a tripping hazard. It also stops it from easily being moved around to follow the sun; there is no way we could lie outside (some foldable loungers would be welcome); a mirror over the basin in the bathroom would be nice; a fan in the bedroom would help on the hotter nights; and, as a final touch, some flowering plants in the pots would make the outside much more charming. But these are all minor and shouldn't put anyone off staying there, if only for the views!

Simply Wow - a page of writing for a review when there are so many positive things that we want to say is not enough.
Our hosts were absolutely amazing and the added bonus of being introduced to the goats, pigs and chickens with all the quirky names added a real âback to the good lifeâ escape from the pressure of the everyday, out in suburbia. The cottage is fabulous and the little personal touches with our welcome hamper were a real bonus after a long drive. Nothing has been left out with the facilities in the cottage thereâs everything you would need to cater for yourself, that said we decided to eat out and explore the vast amount of tea shops, pubs, bakeries and not forgetting the pancake house for a real treat which is a few minutes up the road. The STAR Inn was one of our favourite places to eat with great food, friendly staff and a good choice of food and drinks. Finally saving the best till last Kate and Terry are such lovely people and the Cottage was extremely comfortable with a very nice and relaxing atmosphere somewhere to unwind in comfort and reminisce about our daily adventures and discoveries in such a beautiful part of the country. We will be recommending this to all our friends and family and we hope to book a return visit soon.

We have just been and stayed at Beach Cottage, we are probably a little older than the average clients being 82 and 84 so the sea has to come to use, rather than us going to the sea.
On the plus side this was a wonderful place to stay and have a weeks holiday, the views are tremendous from the lounge window overlooking the sea and watching the fishing boats come and go, the bed was comfortable and the shower was perfect for the older person. .On the downside the sofa as mentioned in many reviews as a real pain, it may be a Loaf expensive sofa but it'e far to low to get out of, please put it up on some blocks to make it higher therefore making it easier to get up from. We gave up sitting on it and just sat on the dining chairs instead. We were taken in by this photo (As others too have seem to have been!) as we had the grandchildren down to see us as they live in Cornwall and thought that there would be enough chairs for everyone, (We only wanted five chairs) not so. One more thing , we arrived at the property feeling excited and ready for our holiday, standing at the front door with the key code all ready to open the key box, it states it's one the right of the light blue front door, no it's not, its on the left side of the door. Hope that this helps other people thinking about this lovely cottage Andrew and June
