What our customers say about their holidays
Caroline - Verified booking
The word penthouse means Flat on the top floor off the building, typically one of luxuriously fitted.
Posative things first- amazing view, location, parking, beds and sofas really comfortable. Well furnished, balcony loved that, specially my grandaughter. Showers are great. The negative parts which would made the holiday fabulous and special. Carpets need replacing or Professionally cleaned as dirty. Gripper rods from kitchen floor tiles to carpet need sorting as not nice when trodden on, spikes sticking through. Dirty under recliner, hair on toilet, toilet roll holders need to be putting on straight one pointing upwards and the other downward angle. Toilet brush holder need cleaning . Smart TV advertised is not the sitting room TV but a bedroom TV. Have to move toaster to be able to use. Oven smells like old fryer oil when in use. One of the Freezer draws has a whole in it. Vacuum cleaner when we went to use it, the brush part was full of hair, had to remove this to use. Could only have a shallow bath as runs out of hot water so is lukewarm. Would be good if there was more work top space in kitchen. Ceiling fans in bathroom need cleaning as full of dust, toilet brush dusty. Wall need refreshing up with paint. Some blackout curtains or blind in the beds rooms would be good. Hooks that were stuck to doors which have come off either replace or remove the sticky pads left on doors. Window in double room made a loud noise when opened and felt like it was coming of hinges, so closed and never opened again. These things make a big difference and If sorted out we would rebook. I do have photos if these are need.

I have been reluctant to leave negative feedback because I feel that the owner isnât to blame for the cleanliness of the property and the wrong information given by the agents but since they keep asking for my feedback here goes.
We arrived very late evening, upon entering myself and my daughter sat on the bed chatting. I kept scratching my back, feeling an itch, but didnât take too much notice, until I looked down on the bed and saw a flea hopping about ! I ran to find the vacuum cleaner, managed to vacuum up two fleas ! After that I decided to have have a look around the apartment and was pretty disgusted at what I saw. The toilet was filthy ! (I wonât go into detail ) The sink and bath hadnât been cleaned either. The lounge had areas with a gathering of someones long hair and lots of dust. I could go on but I wonât. On the positive the bed was made very nicely, although there was what looked like chocolate marks when you pulled back the sheets. I should imagine the owner pays a lot for a cleaning service, which having worked in housekeeping in Center Parcs for a couple of years, Iâm pretty sure no cleaning was done, other than the cleaning the previous guests did prior to departure. I phoned Dream cottages in the morning to notify them. Also very disappointing that we wanted a two week holiday but when checking I was told there wasnât a parking permit with this property. They suggested other places to park, but didnât know the cost so I just booked a week instead. I was delighted to see a parking permit on the table but annoyed that I was given the wrong information. The apartment had a lovely view and was very central. The Happy Hamper that was left for us was a very thoughtful touch.

We were so pleased with the accommodation, it was really beautifully decorated very well equipped and spotlessly clean.
The views from the large windows were amazing and you could see them wherever you were in the main area of the flat, it was perfect. The flat was in a great location so close to the beach, the harbour, bars, restaraunts and the shops, they were all within easy walking distance. Tha only downside to us was the noise at night, we expected some noise as we knew where the flat was and the write up on the flat does disclose that, however it really was excessive!! There is a nightclub next door that is open until the early hours of morning, you can hear the constant base from the music at all times, from when it starts until the club closes, We could just about live with that, but the noise from the customers outside all night long is unbelievable! It really is on another level! Loud shouting, swearing screaming and calling after one another, arguing, running around over the road to the beach, on the beach, in the little promenade shelter opposite, both when the club is open and after it closed, there were some very large groups of youngsters , even with the windows closed it was impossible to sleep through it. this goes on until at least 4am, yesterday morning the last ones went off at 5.30. It really is such a shame, I would have loved to stay there again, but the sleep deprivation totally spoiled our four night break there for us. We were pleased we hadn't decided to include the weekend as others have reported it to be worse then, I can't imagine it any worse!

Holiday was good overall but there were a few areas for improvement.
The listing said that the road was quiet now due to the closure of a nightclub. This was not the case and was noisy till gone midnight most nights - this should be made clear in the listing. Parking was very difficult. We werenât advised of the closure of the Pavilion car park (the main car park in the town) prior to our arrival which made parking very difficult. Cleanliness could have been improved, the floor/rug was not clean and we had to hoover ourselves. Glasses/Mugs werenât that clean either, we had to wash before using them. We didnât mind this but wouldâve expected a better level of cleanliness to begin with. Basic supplies could have been better - broken knives, only 1 baking tray, would have expected at least some foil/food bags but there wasnât any! The lock on the door was very temperamental and had to be in exactly the right place to lock - very fiddly! Overall, we probably wouldnât stay again due to location and parking.

We enjoyed our weekâs stay at Townbridge House.
The location was convenient for both the town & the harbour & having a balcony was a bonus if a little tight with 2 chairs & a table. Secure parking was a bonus as was the lift. Friday & Saturday nights were very noisy with music & shouting outside until at least 3am - bring earplugs! Although we had a good holiday, we feel there are a few improvements that could be made which would have made our review 5 stars: - very squeaky floorboards - only 2 toilet rolls for a whole week so had to buy more - kettle needed descaling so bought this & descaled it - shower in en-suite bathroom was blocked so we had to buy a drain unblocker - could benefit from dressing table stools in the bedrooms - could benefit from net curtains / voile in bedrooms as was directly across from hotel windows / no privacy - remote controls in both bedrooms did not work / perhaps needed new batteries Overall we would recommend this property & would definitely stay again.
