What our customers say about their holidays

I have already spoken to your team at Northumberland coastal cottages and they have been very helpful. I planned and looked forward to this visit for months. We had no Wfi this was very important to us as there was no mobile phone coverage and I use this to obtain information about the area and times weather etc. Because of this we were unable to land on the farne islands because of not being able to obtain the weather for the day. Also Alnwick garden was closed due to a garden party which we found out on arriving. I could have obtained all this from Wfi which was advertised as available The information leaflet said that if the previous owner had used up all the Wfi for the month it would not be accessible???. there were no bbc channels on the TV even though I reset Tv several times. This was a little annoying as it was the football week. The only walk from the cottages was not accessible due to calves in field which is fine. but I thought on info there would be other areas. I also felt I was living in someone else's house which was a little uncomfortable. This makes me sound such a moaner but we were so disappointed after having planned this for so long.

The property was in a beautiful location- perfect for walking in the stunning national park with lots of trails to follow.
The house comfortable and modern with everything we needed and the dishwasher was a welcome addition. There were only two of us but plenty of space for a family of 4. The bedding and towels were very clean and it smelled really fresh as you walked in. The bed was enormous and so comfy- we slept like a log! 4/5 stars as it wasnât perfect if Iâm being picky- there were no coat hooks; the oven was coming out as we opened the door; the shower leaked which left a patch of damp; and some of the bathroom fixings were wobbly. Having said that, those really are niggles- the parking was great, staff were really friendly; the bed was enormous with a really comfy mattress; stunning views and all the facilities you need; beautifully clean towels and bedding; lovely clean kitchen and cooking facilities; a lovely, warm and cosy place; and the restaurant right on your doorstep. Beautiful place and would happily return and will recommend to family and friends.

On this, our first visit to this cottage, we found quite an amount of cupboard space taken up by what appeared to be the owners food and drink items, including a full wine rack! Limiting the cupboard space available for our two week stay. There was also some confusion as to where a change of linen for the second week was, after e-mailing the booking agency and speaking to the owners sister, this was resolved satisfactorily. Other than these two criticisms, the cottage was excellent, more than warm enough, with us on most days having to reduce the heating. The conservatory was lovely with the open outlook, with deer seen on several occasions, and many birds also; the location for us was perfect, so peaceful with very little noise at all from the farm. We only wished we could have remained longer in the peaceful environment. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.

The property needs a good deep clean - cobwebs everywhere - spider poo on windows in conservatory and porch. Even the boom with the blurb in had to wiped for the dust before we could read it! So many things plugged in the bedroom messy unsightly . Do the beds need heated blankets on in summer - uncomfortable at the side . Bottom cupboards in kitchen a mess can’t see what’s there. No wooden spoons ?! Personal pictures photos everywhere cluttered for a holiday rental - ok for an Airbnb but not a normal rental through an agency. Over grown grass at back made picking up dog poo tricky. Sheets towels clean which was good. En suite shower is a bit of a mess a gruby in places considering it’s 4* I do wonder where our £50 extra for the dogs we paid will go on ?

A beautiful cosy cottage in a stunning location overlooking the harbour. You really would never get tired of that view! The bedrooms, particularly, are beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds, with two of them enjoying that lovely harbour view. We were lucky enough to get some good weather and so were able to enjoy the pretty little garden across the road - the perfect spot for a coffee, while watching the comings and goings in the harbour. Being located right on the path that leads to Dunstanburgh Castle was amazing and felt like a huge privilege - a great walk to blow the cobwebs away and we even saw dolphins on one occasion. All in all a great holiday in a home away from home which we hope to return to one day.
