  Our booked six night stay consisted of one night before we gave the keys back and found somewhere else to stay.

  In 25 years of renting holiday cottages, this was by far the worst. Spartan, poorly equipped, no room whatsoever, no storage space and what we believed to be us having the run of a large garden (as the photos depicted) for our two spaniels, we had a 12 x 12ft patch of grass. The tv is at a 45 degree angle to the settee, so you had to crane your neck to watch it. No net curtains so no privacy. A kitchen without a cooker, draining board or washing machine, the latter essential for a cottage that's supposedly dog friendly. As for the front door..... We were told NOT to turn the car around using the property opposite's drive which necessitated reversing down the narrow lane to get out, no mention of this when we booked. Presumably the cottage owners and the neighbour don't get on? The directions to the place weren't even accurate. If this place WAS converted from a barn, I can only assume that the barn was more comfortable. When we departed on the Sunday morning, the owners weren't in, so I texted them to say we'd left the place and to let them know where we'd left the key. Several hours later they replied to say, "oh dear, thanks for letting us know, we hope you find something more suited to your needs". No apology, no " what could we have done to make your stay better?", essentially, " thanks for your £400, 'bye". I just can't believe the glowing reviews for this place, people must have very low expectations. We will NEVER book through you again, a complete and utter disappointment.   We stayed for a week at No4 Faraway Fields.

  We found the property ideal for a quiet break tucked away in a corner very private and peaceful. The property had everything you need home from home and the hot tub was nice to relax in the evening. We visited many places in Devon and found the property ideal location to do this. The property is very open plan and very nice also WiFi is ok good enough for what we needed. The only thing for us was a lack of a decent pub/bar to walk to as the nearest one in dobwalls wasn’t to our liking but others might. Their is a shop near by Spar just at the roundabout and we found a better place was a 5 min drive to Trago Mills where you will find a few shops and a cafe. Bakery, Butchers, vape shop, Green Groceries and a big shop that sold most things worth stopping at. Plus also a little further past Trago Mills you will come across a very nice pub called the Half Way House. All in All very nice place to stay and visit well recommend.

  A really enjoyable stay with my wife and our cocker spaniel Milo.

  The property was well equipped and in our opinion was possibly the most private and secluded plot on the site which is great when there is a hot tub. Being able to go up on the roof terrace and enjoy the views was great. The property would benefit from a new table and chairs as they are looking dated / old and don’t lend them selves to be used for a period of time as they are small and uncomfortable. As per previous reviews we have read a table and chairs on the deck area out side the kitchen would have been useful. The only negative was that the deck area needed to be swept/hosed before we arrived to remove the debris from trees and that the gate to the main site was only in use on our last day from a security point of view would have been good to see it being used daily. Would definitely recommend this property, the site and the area of Dobwalls / Liskeard.

  The cottage is in a stunning location which makes it.

  However, it wasn’t entirely clean, there were finger nails on the table underneath the cook books. There were also no settee cushions (only decorative ones) on the backs of the settees making for very uncomfortable seating. The mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable. The hot tub was dirty (I have photographs) and so full of bubbles and chlorine (because it hadn’t been cleaned) it stung our eyes. It also ruined my silver jewellery, which I have never had a problem with wearing in a hot tub before. Again down to the amount of chlorine. My jewellery is very sentimental to me as most of it was bought as gifts from friends and family, so this I am most gutted about. Unfortunately I will not be recommending this beautiful cottage based on the above.

  We had the BEST Christmas break at 4 Faraway Fields.

  It was the perfect relaxation spot to hideaway in. The property came with everything you need and we truly relaxed, the hot tub was spot on! The reception team are incredibly helpful and checked in on us regularly to make sure things were up to par. The hot tub team, were really friendly and efficient, they even worked Christmas Day! There are just a few little things that would make it even better, for us - but they wouldn’t stop us coming back. A coffee machine/cafeteria (for us coffee snobs). A bigger bed (it was comfy, we’re just used to a super king - my husband is very tall!). The sofa probably needs new cushions or replacing fairly soon, it could have been a bit more comfortable. Thank you for having us - we loved it!
