  Very handy location for N Norfolk coast, attractions and towns. Excellent pubs and restaurants in vicinity. Recommend Gunton Arms and Black Boys. Easy parking and helpful security lighting. Electric shower ensured a constant flow of hot water. Kitchen was a decent size and well equipped, apart from dishwasher being in adjoining room. All windows look out onto walls of adjoining properties, so it is dark and claustrophobic beyond what one would naturally expect in a cottage. Beds are all beautiful sleigh beds but they are simply too large for the small bedrooms, making it very hard to navigate around them and enhancing the sense of being in a tight space. Lovely though the beds are, it would be a good idea for the owners to swap them out for something less dominating. One bedroom had an unpleasant smell of unwashed laundry. It was hard to determine the source of the smell, but there was a locked cupboard at the more pungent end of the room, which may have had some unwashed sheets thrown into it for later washing. ?Should that prove to have been the case, the owners need to avoid a repeat, and should investigate.

  Location was a lengthy drive from most necessities. Lack of cleanliness. The house looked like it had been left tidy, but had not been cleaned between guests. I was appalled at the amount of dog hair. In the bathroom the shower was full of mould, particularly in and around the drain, I actually had to buy products to clean it. The washing machine pull out draw for inserting tablets was also black with mould !The couch needs vacuuming as full of dirt under the cushions.The fridge was very dirty and also had mould and old food crumbs, food crumbs in kitchen utility drawers.The floors needed washing. There was blood stains on one of the pillow slips so I put the pillow on the cabinet and could not use it. The sheets were old and worn and dirty. I took photos of everything to show my friends, but I actually was not going to post anything about the stay as I was so disappointed. I was feeling it was better to say nothing than have to be negative, however the lack of cleanliness is a health hazard and as a health professional I decided I should make a post.

  There's a lot to like about this cottage. Lovely welcome pack, beautiful location and well laid out, plenty of room for our family. I agree with other reviewers who said the beds were big (bedroom 2 & 3) and there's not a lot of space to 'put things'. Master was good with a long chest of draws and good surface area. Partly my fault when I booked but I didn't realise this cottage didn't have a full en-suite. It's listed as having one but it does say in the description that the en-suite is just a toilet and sink. I would probably still have booked but it's not a full en suite. My family really do need two bathrooms. But entirely my responsibility to check that! No floor towel or mop was provided (though other towels were) and there was no where to hang hand towels in either toilet. I don't know why there aren't towel rails for hand towels next to the sinks. But bathroom and ground floor got very wet from the hot tub. So a mop and floor towels would have been good. But a lot to like!

  My adult family of 6 had a great stay at Sandpit Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. The location is great for all the lovely beaches and attractions of the stunning Norfolk coast - Horsey beach with the hundreds of seals was a highlight! Cromer was visited twice with lunches involving the famous local crab of course. We visited the Vernon Arms which was a wonderful evening with fantastic food. We did struggle having only 1 shower with 6 adults, but that is entirely my fault for misreading the details of the en-suite bathroom, which only has a loo and sink! The lounge was very comfortable with squishy sofas, though we spent most of our time in the light and airy kitchen or the hot tub (which wold have been perfect if it had been under cover with the deluge of rain we had!) A generous welcome pack was left which was very kind and much appreciated.

  We had a great family (including our dog) short stay at this cottage in Norfolk and recommend it. We’ve stayed in Norfolk a few times and found this to be in a great location. 10 minute drive from the beaches and a 3 minute drive from a lovely friendly pub. The house has a rustic feel, and the large sofas were very welcoming after day’s walking, the beds some of the most comfortable we’ve slept in. It was equipped with everything we needed. I loved the hot tub - huge, and felt an indulgence during April! The enclosed garden is paved over which worked well for us and meant that we didn’t worry about the dog escaping whilst we all sat outside. We only took the one car but plenty of room to park at the house.
