What our customers say about their holidays
Colin - Verified booking
The positive is that the view is stunning from the lounge and bedroom even on a cloudy day, also the property was clean & tidy when we arrived and the guy that we saw when we arrived was welcoming and polite.
The negatives are Lounge - settee & chair uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time, the sliding patio door hard to open when first arrived thought it was going to come off the bottom runner, once opened it ran along ok but the open/close catch was hard to close/ open for one of the party. As thereâs not a door to this room you couldnât shut in the heat coming from the one small rad so felt cold all the time and didnât make it pleasant to sit around and relax., Bedroom - uncomfortable bed, out of the 4 pillows HR only 1 had a pillow protector on ?, every time you turned not sure if it was the mattress topper but it made a ruffling sound which wasnât good and woke the other one up. The quilt itself was thin and also was too small for the duvet cover, the duvet cover had a hole at one of the seams. The window hinge was rusty and black starting to appear. Bathroom - freezing, old discoloured rusting towel rail didnt look good but didnât warm the room at all, the shower though the water was hot the pressure seemed minimal so the spray out wasnât great. Couple of windows shot - whether the seals have gone, one was the big window in the kitchen and the other the small opening part in the entrance lobby. Balcony - looking tired decking & chair. Some of these are issues that wouldnât be able to be a quick fix so do understand but just not a property we will be returning too as it just wasnât comfortable to relax in and this is what we were looking for.

We worked out the best way to arrive at the parking space.
Follow the one way system onto Chapel Street, turn left at the Admiral Benbow into Abbey Street, turn left into New Street, then turn left into the cobbled courtyard. There is space marked Mount View for your car. The slipway is narrow, cobbled and tidal and we wouldn't recommend it. There is a spiral staircase to the apartment. Two large steps into the bathroom and two large steps into the inner hall. The kitchen is small, there is a large lounge diner with lovely view of the slipway, bridge and the beaches in the distance. The tidal pool below is very popular with wild swimmers and there are benches for your clothes. There are two large double bedrooms. The apartment is furnished in country house style and there are ample books and games . We had a cosy week there, we enjoyed exploring Penzance, the pubs such as the Admiral Benbow, Turks Head and the Longboat Inn. There are several parks in Penzance, Morrab and Penlee, which has a great cafe and museum. There is a deli called the Cornish Hen and Baker Tom's bakery. A good selection of shops. The bus service to Long Rock, Marazion, or Mousehole, St Ives and Truro is very good. The coastal park walk from Penzance takes you to Long Rock and the Mexico Inn or further on into Marazion.

This property is situated just off the A30 at Penzance towards Lands End,next to the Polgoon vineyard on a track to the Castle Horneck Youth Hostel.
This track is badly maintained with large potholes before turning right onto another track to the property which can only be described as a glorified farm track just wide enough for 1 car.The photos are misleading as the place where the picnic table is situated is where you park the car,and the wooden structure is the owners garden shed which is next to the kitchen window. The property itself was clean and comfortable, but being a basement apartment suffers from condensation meaning you have to open all the windows in the morning or come back to a fusty smelling property, and has a dehumidifier running in one of the bedrooms to try to combat this. The stream at the side of the property and woodland probably doesnât help with this. This property also has no proper rubbish bins meaning you have to separate all your rubbish into different coloured rubbish sacks and leave them outside.Penzance has excellent transport links with a mainline railway station with the bus station and tourist information next to it.It also has a fantastic promenade with a heated open air swimming pool at one end,or just behind the railway station is a walking/cycling path to Marazion where St Michealâs mount is.

This was a last minute booking on a whim for a birthday.
We love Sennen and hadnât been there for a few years so while browsing the area online I spotted The Lookout and the view alone sold it to me immediately. The booking process couldnât have been easier and the owner, Jason, was quick to offer us all the information and support we needed. We were in desperate need of peace and nature and this is what The Lookout provides. Itâs a lovely bright and clean apartment with a view to die for. Every need and comfort is catered for and listening to the waves and the birds from a comfy bed is pure bliss. Plenty of walking starts right outside the door and on to the South West Coastal Path with nearby amenities in Sennen Cove plus lots of attractions and sights also within a short driving distance. Youâre wonderfully hidden from the world at The Lookout and you can expect muddy boots, occasional narrow lanes and a beautiful, simpler way of life. Oh and thereâs a wonderful Indian takeaway in Penzance that delivers (Just Eat) to the door on that night you just canât be bothered to cook. Just perfect. We happily recommend The Lookout and weâll definitely be back. Thank you Jason.

Hello Whilst the property is of a high standard i.
E comfortable bed, dishwasher, washer dryer, beautiful decor etc we feel that we have to mention a big negative that we encountered on a daily basis during our stay. Although the weather was reasonable the outside single track lane to the property was in a terrible state, having many large and deep potholes and areas of mud. Due to having to reverse out every time we had an excursion we were not happy to navigate deep potholes which we could not avoid hitting (some water filled). Our vehicle suffered inside and out necessitating a valet on our return. We came home 24 hours early as heavy rain was forecast the next day which would have impacted even more on the condition of the single track lane to the property. It should also be noted that the 'sitting out' area is totally shaded and there are quite a few cars and vans going up and down the lane in very close proximity which felt uncomfortable. Anyone unable to reverse their vehicle would struggle to use the parking space allocated next to this property. We feel the photo does not reflect the lane and sitting out area and we have to ask Sykes to review this. Thank you.
