What our customers say about their holidays

We had a fantastic stay in Linden Lodge. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, very tasteful and modern decor, lovely spacious living and dining area. Compact but perfect kitchen. The bedrooms are a great size for a lodge and the beds were extremely comfortable! The smart tvs were a bonus. We love this area and visited the neighbouring towns Pickering, Malton, and also took our children to Castle Howard and Dalby Forest whilst there. A beautiful location. The lodge was absolutely immaculate, matched photos perfectly, and felt comfortable. The park itself is still being built up, so was quiet and peaceful, which we loved, but it’s still small in size so I can imagine a full park in summer would still be absolutely perfect. I had a few queries and had to contact the hosts a few times - although my queries were not quite rectified- the team were brilliant and got back to me very quickly and in a polite and professional manner. We are already planning our next trip back. Thank you

Once again a beautiful stay in this perfect peaceful lodge. We feel right at home here, the lodge is in a fantastic location only a stones throw from restaurants, pubs, a Lidl supermarket, some beautiful walks and attractions. This time we did Go Ape with our children and a Gruffalo walk both of which are in the nearby Dalby Forest, and we also visited the North Yorkshire Moors train and took a steam train to the village of Goathland which was absolutely lovely. The lodge was the perfect base to stay at, cosy and clean with all the amenities you could ever need, our children got quite muddy at the forest and luckily there is a washing machine in the lodge so we could get things washed quickly! The internet is now free from the site, as they have had a mast and routers fitted and a lovely gentleman came to advise us during our stay. We had a slight heating issue on arrival but a lovely man came to fix it within minutes and it was working! We will be back soon, thank you again ?

The cottage was as described on the website and was very spacious.
Very comfortable and clean with great views of the railway from the front window and the sight of Pickering castle from the back door. Great location for exploring out onto the moors, going to the coast or travelling into York. No issues with parking in the car park over the road (a permit is provided for one car) and we heard no noise from the renovations next door (the owners left us a welcome pack with a card explaining what work was being done and when there may possibly be any noise which was a thoughtful touch). The kitchen was really well equipped and clean and the log burner in the lounge is highly efficient (we would suggest turning the central heating down if you intend to use the fire as the radiators are very efficient at keeping the cottage warm!!). One of the best cottages we have stayed in - highly recommended!

Very clean and tidy. Generally good facilities. Good location. Well decorated, excellent water pressure, and oven was pristine. Also very quiet. It was a lovely suprise to find that there were actually empty cupboards in the kitchen to put our groceries in. (Such a rarity in our experience). We didn't receive the keypad details to access the key until 4 hours before our arrival time. (I had to message the company to ask them to provide them). This was rather disappointing. It was very warm in the accommodation and our stay would have been more comfortable with air conditioning. For some unknown reason, there was a fan in bits under one of the beds, and one part was missing, so it couldn't be used. (The weather on Thursday was very hot, and it was uncomfortable both in the accommodation and on the veranda).

A lovely characterful cottage providing accommodation to a very high standard, perfectly maintained and scrupulously clean.
The owners seem to have thought of everything, from a welcome pack of cake, chocolates, tea, coffee and milk, through to extra birdseed for our feathered friends using the feeders outside the kitchen window. Beck Cottage has a great location, only a short level walk to the pubs, restaurants and shops in Pickering, and with the added bonus of a great view of the steam trains running into and out of the station. During our week we managed to squeeze in two days out on the railway, visits to Helmsley, Whitby, Thornton-le-Dale and Scarborough, and took in a Pickering FC home game. There's so much to do and see in the area that a week is never enough. We were sad when it was time to leave Beck Cottage and would gladly return anytime.
