The Snug, created from part of the old Plough Inn, is an absolutely superb holiday retreat within an easy stroll of all the great shops, restaurants and pubs in the lovely historic town of Ashbourne.  Recently renovated to a high standard, just revel in the cottage's comfort with sumptuous furniture and fittings, attractive decoration and drapes, crisp bed linen and lovely fluffy towels.   

Ashbourne with its Georgian terraces, 13th century church, colourful market square, heritage trail, country stores and antique shops provides lots to see and explore. Set at the end of picturesque Dove Dale it is known as the 'Gateway to the Peak District' with lots of attractions like Paradise Walk along the dale, Tissington Trail with its cycle hire, Matlock Bath's little Switzerland gorge, Peak Rail's steam trains puffing along the Derwent Valley and the National Tramway Museum to fill days of your holiday.

However, remember to leave some time aside to enjoy the majesty of Chatsworth House, try the water sport spills at Carsington Water, marvel at all the unique Derbyshire village well dressings, visit the dramatic Derwent Valley 'Dambuster' dams and even experience the heart stopping thrills of the latest rides at nearby Alton Towers.

Cottage facilities:

A superb lounge with luxurious sofas and chairs, T.V., DVD, Freeview, WiFi and glowing coal effect electric fire. An attractive dining/kitchen with oak table and chairs, hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and automatic washer. A beautiful double bedroom with en-suite shower room with W.C. A second classy double bedroom and a twin bedroom of the same high quality. A super bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C. A downstairs cloakroom with W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating and power are included. There is a spacious patio with furniture. Parking for one car is available and there are other spaces on the adjacent road. The cottage is not suitable for babies and toddlers because of the stairs. Dogs are welcome with secure courtyard. Smoking in the cottage is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult. Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday.

Short breaks are available throughout the year.
