Believed to date back to 1640, The Old Lyme Brewhouse is an end-terraced cottage that has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard over a period of three years. It has been tastefully decorated, while attempting to reveal as many of the original features as possible. As its name suggests, the property was formerly an old brew house, and it is very centrally located. Within a few minutes’ level walk you can reach the famous Cobb area and beach, as well as local shops and restaurants.
The Old Lyme Brewhouse is a gem of a property with a secluded suntrap back garden, and lies in a very peaceful area of Lyme Regis in the old town, yet close to everything you need. The owners have provided one local car parking permit close to the property for their visitors.
Lyme Regis itself has much to offer tourists of all ages, and is situated on Dorset’s dramatic unesco World Heritage Jurassic Coast. It is the perfect holiday cottage location for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Often called the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well-known for its beautiful coastal views, historic 14th-century old town, harbour and excellent beaches for fossil hunting. Golden Cap is certainly worth a visit and is officially the highest cliff face in southern England. The Jurassic Drive coast is also on the doorstep with a bus operating from Poole to Exeter along the 96-mile Jurassic Coast. There are also beach fishing or local fishing trips available from the Cobb.
The Old Lyme Brewhouse is ideal for couples wanting to get out and explore by foot, yet who enjoy all the home comforts when returning home. It is ideal for those who wish to enjoy the many amazing Jurassic coastline walks, and it even has a heated coat and boot cupboard, should there be any inclement weather! There is much to do in and around this popular area of Dorset, which also borders Devon. Beach 355 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 355 yards.
