Beautiful little lodge situated to the back of the main house. Perfect location for both town and country access. The added sun trap terrace in front of the lodge was a bonus to sit out in and admire the perfectly kept gardens. Although quite central it is quiet and peaceful. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable and both bedrooms have wardrobe and drawer storage. The owner lives in the house and is happy to recommend places to visit. My sister and I were in Dumfries for a family wedding though usually stay further down the coast. Lots to see and do here. We were there for a week but could have filled a second week easily. Would fully recommend and would rent here again.

Close to the centre of the busy county town, Laurieknowe is a hidden gem. An oasis of restfulness. Comfortable, well equipped and clean. But it is the individuality of the place, the care and attention that has been put into the renovation and creation of the holiday house, that makes it very special. We loved the lovely artwork, the sympathetic renovation of the old coachhouse and the quirkiness. The garden is lovely and full of interest and although we didn't have the weather to sit out, if we did, it would have been perfect. Linda and Alex were great hosts, very helpful and attentive. We hope to come back next time we visit Dumfries.

Very enjoyable stay at the Coach House. Super hosts who helped make the stay. Whilst the property is close to the centre of Dumfries, it was quiet and secluded with lovely gardens. There was plenty of internal space with everything we needed. It made a great base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway and also Glasgow is accessible by train through glorious countryside. Not being restricted to weekend changeovers was brilliant for us in avoiding holiday traffic. I would have no reservations about returning to stay at the Coach House.

We enjoyed our stay in Belmont Cottage. In the grounds ot the big house, parking, outside area to sit and enjoy the evening sun. Bedrooms very comfortable with plenty of space for your clothing etc. The sitting room/ dining area had all you needed and had lots of books and maps which were very useful. The bathroom was downstairs too, but great care had been taken to ensure that there was solar lighting on the stairs for safety during the night The Owners were very helpful but not intrusive.

Excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, which for us included the Robert Burns House and Centre in Dumfries, Caerlaverock Castle and Nature Reserve, Kirkcudbright, Logan Botanical Gardens, Mull of Galloway, Samye Ling Temple in Eskdalemuir, Carlisle, and Edinburgh. The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations in terms of spaciousness and comfort, with a lovely garden at the back. The host was also very accommodating. Hopefully, we'll be back at some point again in the future.
