What our customers say about their holidays
Stephen - Verified booking
Absolutely idyllic From the moment we arrived it looked and felt like we were in a foreign holiday villa.
Although as some have suggested it is down a narrow track this never caused an issue and we like being out of the way. It's a very pretty area to walk around and the vast grounds we had all to ourself left us feeling very lucky, almost spoilt. There is a stream with small waterfalls running the whole length of the lower field with a large pond so in the mornings we got to have a hot drink watching the fish or the deer, during the day the kids loves finding newts, tadpoles and lizards and it's a great spot in the evening to have a bottle of wine, enjoy the sun and the tranquility, I think even the dog will get the holiday blues when we leave. There is a nice seating area by the accommodation which is a nice sun trap in the evening with a few cows just over the fence and bat's late on. The owners are incredibly friendly yet unobtrusive, we were left a greatly appreciated bottle of fizz, some mik and biscuits. The accommodation is all on one floor but doesn't feel small, the kitchen had all we needed, the bedrooms were clean and comfy as you would expect and the juliet balcony off of the living room was a fantastic addition, you really barely have to leave the accommodation. As we were visiting family it was a great base as every beach and town seems to be within 20-25 minute drive, and the lanes really aren't that bad at all except a vast number of holiday makers feel they need an 8 foot wide 4x4 and struggle to deal with the passing places. However even at a busy time we had no issues getting to Salcombe, Kingsbridge, south Milton, Thurlstone, and bigbury all under half an hour. It may also be handy to know, tesco can deliver here, there's a petrol station within ten min drive, and most of the beaches have dog friendly areas. The anchorage pub in Ugborough was a nice place and there's still not much point in joining the 30 thousand other people that cram into the one tiny street in overhyped Salcombe, unless you have a boat or your going to enjoy the view from the ferry Inn its a lot of hassle for very little gain. Aside from that we really can't Gush and recccomend Bearscombe enough, time for one last drink by the pond methinks.

Had a lovely stay at hope farm the family are are very friendly and helpful.
On arrival the cottage was clean and the welcome pack was a very nice touch . We took our dog along she had her own little welcome with her own blanket a food bowl and a doggie treat . The cottage was a good size with everything you need for your stay and everything on one level . There is a laundry room on site and even a washing line . There was also a chest freezer within the laundry room if you run out of space in your freezer compartment in your fridge. We found the large dog area at the rear of the property very useful for our dog to have a good runaround and she made friends with the owners dog Oreo who is absolutely adorable! And so were the horses ! We have two teenagers who both have autism and they loved the games room and spent a fair amount of time in there when we werenât out and about. Location wise the cottage was a short drive to supermarkets, the many beaches ,pubs and the village is near too. We were able to order a couple of take aways too we even had a Sunday roast delivered by a local company called Baked which was outstanding ! All in all we had a very relaxing enjoyable stay and we will definitely return again ! Many thanks to Jane , Dave and Mia for a lovely stay !! From Paula , Steve and girls x

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Field View.
We wanted to be as remote as possible to avoid any NYE fireworks and this was the perfect location. Nicola and Mike have thought of everything, this is a luxurious home from home place to be. The kitchen is well equipped making self catering easy, there is a great strong shower, and super comfy bed. The garden was completely secure for our dog so we had no concerns there. Although we were there in December at no point were we cold, the property has lovely solid floors so we were pleased we had packed our slippers (we always do) but the cottage stayed warm throughout as there are lots of radiators and heated towel rails. Bedding was spotlessly clean and there was an abundance of towels. Nicola and Mike had also kindly popped in some welcome treats which were very much appreciated, especially the freshly laid eggs. Although remote and rural the Greyhound Pub is only a short drive away, and Taunton was only about a 15 min drive away. The views were amazing and we were only disappointed that we werenât there longer in warmer weather to have a lazy breakfast in the garden. We would definitely return and definitely recommend.

If you want a relaxing away from it all break, this is it !
Lovely accommodation , spotless, . Well equipped . The owners have thought of everything . We had a problem with the tv on the day we arrived ,i phoned the number provided ,and it was sorted out straight away . The grounds are lovely, ,a large lake , grass areas ,wooded area where wild garlic and blue bells are starting to flower . . All you can hear are birds. Wild deer visit , I was fortunate to see an otter cross from the stream to the lake early one morning while taking the dogs out . Although the cottage is fairly remote , approached by narrow lanes ,it is within easy reach of beautiful sandy beaches (20-25 mins )â¦.. try Bigbury ,and walk across the cause way when the tide is out, to Burgh island . Totness is nice if you like browsing around shops . For food try the Ring feeder â¦. Home cooked food . Beef and pork produced on their own farm ,very quirky lovely cakes . Also a farm shop on sight for fresh produce . Also The California inn , traditional pub . Lovely food . For something a bit further afield . The oyster shack . Sea food and fresh fish .

What a gem!
The cottage is located surrounded by countryside. You have wonderful views, beautiful birdsong all day, incredible sunsets & we were even lucky enough to see deer in the field twice during our stay! It's the most lovely place to relax, unwind & get away from it all. The cottage itself is just perfect! So well equipped, comfortable & clean throughout. That fireplace is stunning. The owners, Nicola and Mike, are just so lovely, so friendly & we enjoyed chatting with them during our stay. And meeting their gorgeous doggies too. It's great they're just next door & on hand if you need anything, but equally they give you complete privacy whilst you're at the cottage. We were so lucky with the endless sunshine whilst we stayed, but the cottage stayed so cool inside which was great for our elderly springer. We had such a relaxing few days & although we explored different places in the area, or was equally just at nice to sit in the garden & absorb the views. We couldn't recommend Field View enough & we will definitely be back to stay again
