  Fantastic House to stay in. An absolutely beautiful house to stay in for my family Christmas. It had everything that we needed in order for our Christmas weekend to go wonderfully well. We stayed for a long weekend ages 9 months to 78 and there was enough space in the house for everyone to have their space and yet all be together.The hot tub was lovely - with some nice outdoor lighting, plastic glasses to use and separate towels for the tub, which you could sling in the tumble drier after use ready for the next time! The conservatory was a great place for breakfast with a more formal dining room - which was perfect for Christmas Day lunch. We had a lovely welcome pack as well, with wine, cheese, butter, bread etc. Such a lovely thing. The kitchen was well equipped. I was unsure what it would be like cooking a full on Christmas Dinner for 8 in a kitchen that I didn't know - would they have the pots and the pans etc - but they had everything I needed. I took some stuff with me just in case - but it was fine!The beds were super comfy, the pillows lovely and soft and the linen was lovely too. :)Great place to stay. 100% recommend.

  We had an absolutely wonderful stay.

  The information pack we received prior to arriving was brilliant. The cottage itself was gorgeous, had everything you needed and more, plus some surprise goodies on arrival. The owners have thought of everything and the little details and extras made the stay so pleasurable. There is only 1 tiny thing I would suggest: bigger towels. I couldn’t wrap the towel around me, and with a father-in-law in the house it was a bit restrictive and felt I had to dress and undress in the bathroom. However the towels you did have were so soft a fluffy, they felt so luxurious. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and have very comfy beds. The living space downstairs was cosy and comfortable and the garden was lovely. The kitchen was so well equipped and had everything and even more than I have at home! There is a little park just at the end of the road which was a highlight for our daughter as we could easily pop to it in the morning and evening. Overall it was a wonderful stay in a fabulous cottage, the owners have thought of everything and should be really proud. We would highly recommend Falcus cottage.

  We had a 4-night stay at Bethel Chapel.

  Members of 3 families who have stayed at several other Staithes properties before - and we were really impressed with Bethel Chapel. The building itself is so interesting architecturally, and it is furnished and accessorised really well. We booked very last minute and had read some reveiws saying cleanliness was an issue but this was definitely not the case in our experience - in fact we were looking out for this aspect and were very pleased with the standard. It's just at the bottom of the hill into Staithes, so very accessible for getting into and out of town. There's room for a medium-sized car on the front which is a huge bonus. All the beds were really comfortable. The property has oodles of internal space, so if you are a larger family or sharing with friends it ticks the boxes of great social space as well as being able to get some alone-time if you need it. Has views across the beck from the large chapel windows. We would definitely come back to Bethel Chapel.

  We had a lovely time over Christmas in Bethel Chapel.

  Our family has been coming to the Whitby area for a few years for Christmas. Bethel Chapel was the most spacious and attractive accommodation we have had so far, and beautifully located in the heart of old Staithes. The kitchen was well equipped - there was no lack of pots and pans and no lack of oven space. The seating area has a nice welcoming log burner. Fuel is available from the co op shop at the top of the hill which, although a bit of a slog, is nevertheless within a reasonable walking distance. The bedrooms were all a good size and well presented. There were a good selection of films, books and music. Of course, managing car parking is tricky in such a small and steep town. We did end up with a ticket, but can take that as an unavoidable hazard. We spent pleasant time in the Royal George playing cards, but it is the cliff walks which really are a joy! The best memories are of the sun and sky over the sea.
