  The cottage is in a great position on the High Street in such a lovely village with very friendly people and amazing countryside.

  The cottage is generally good but there were a few issues. On cleanliness I was disappointed to find that the grill pan hadn't been cleaned properly and there were crumbs under the toaster. On facilities there were 3 overhead lights where bulbs had either gone or were absent, including in the front porch which is essential if coming back to the cottage late. We bought 3 light bulbs. Generally the lighting seemed dim in all rooms and not easy to read by (no lamp on right hand side of bed in back room). Also there only seemed to be one sharp knife in the kitchen. The bungalow at the back has a very bright security light which came on several times each night and woke us up. The back bedroom needs thicker curtains to counteract that. The website pictures show a sitting area screened by a holly hedge but actually this is where the wheelie bins are kept so a bit misleading. You can still sit nearer the back door if you don't mind being open to the driveways of adjacent cottages and people passing on the footpath. We did find the sitting room a bit soulless and a rug would have made it seem more comfortable. Personally I found the settee and chairs too low and uncomfortable so spent the week sitting on either a dining chair (by the way, one of these is broken and nearly collapsed on me) or one of the garden chairs.   Great property, idyllic surroundings and the onsite walks are amazing.

  Host knocked to see if we had settled in ok and was lovely, friendly lady. Would easily suit 2 couples sharing as both bedrooms essentially have own bathroom (one is ensuite while other has bathroom with huge bath and is next to the bedroom) or easily accommodate a family of more than four (both bedrooms have a double and single bed and are large rooms). Parking is ample, no tight squeezes ! We hope to go back and will definitely recommend to friends/family. Great value for money. Peacocks, horses visible all day from cottage windows and there is a great little friendly chicken who is a ‘right character’! - also saw pheasants, squirrels, birds of prey, hares and could hear woodpecker tapping on the walk at the rear of the owners farmhouse. Dog friendly, our Sharpei absolutely loved it there, shame we had to leave to come back to reality ! Nearest town is Church Stretton which is 4/5 country lane miles away and has a good pub with food (Kings Arms) and has takeways (fish n chips, chinese, kebab, indian) and several other pubs and coffee shops. Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury easy driving distance and all worth a visit. Carding Mill walk brilliant. Perfect base for walkers, dog owners - miles of countryside to explore/ riverside walks etc. All in all, marvellous !

  Betty’s Barn is a lovely end of terrace cottage in a great area for a relaxing break.

  The Stables opposite provided lovely sights & activity to watch. Chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks added to the beautiful nature. Wellies are a great thing to pack. Lovely walks from the cottage. Excellent parking. Easy check in via key safe & responsive owners to any issues. Although ‘dog friendly’ there was no dog smell or evidence until we used the hoover…we emptied it as it was left full & a quick hoover completely filled it again - we are pet free. Therefore cleanliness looked great, until we used the hoover. A delicious packet of Shrewsbury biscuits was on the table for our arrival. We took all condiments with us & all containers were empty. Lovely open plan downstairs. 2 spacious bedrooms, each with 1 double & 1 single bed, one with ensuite shower, the other has a lovely big bath with no shower but it is not ensuite. Plenty of toilet rolls & towels were available. Heating is excellent and the cottage is lovely & warm. Downstairs toilet is a great bonus. We struggled with the 2 very low & deep sofas but others have commented on their comfort. Thank you for a relaxing break in lovely area.

  Betty's Barn is a gem of a cottage, beautifully renovated, but keeping it's charm and character.

  It is spacious, warm and cosy and the owners are very friendly and welcoming - there if you need them, but always respectful of guests' privacy. It is in a wonderful location and the woodland walks within the grounds were perfect for our dogs - keep a lookout for the intersting sculptures dotted around! The surrounding countryside was an artist's palette of wonderful Autumn colours and we were lucky with the weather which, although cold and crisp early morning, developed into days that were warm, bright and sunny - what a fantastic time of year this is to visit! It is within easy reach of a variety of interesting places, Carding Mill Valley and Gigrin Farm Red Kite Centre being our particular favourites, but can also recommend Ludlow Food Centre and restaurant. We would definitely return to Betty's Barn and have already recommended it to family and friends and would like to thank the Vine-Kite family for an absolutely wonderful holiday!

  Cottage well equiped .

  Nice layout and clean everywhere. A low step from kitchen to lounge area and to the rest of the property . Only two niggles i had was the dirty oven and very bright bedroom ceiling blinds. Double set of internal stairs with handrails to bedrooms and bathrooms. Both upstairs bedrooms were on eitherside of the property. Each room had a double and a single bed which were firm with nice bedding. There were early morning sounds and activites from wildlife and the stables behind the property so not as quiet as we thought though this didnt spoil our holiday. The property literaly backs onto the lane and is not fenced from the road. Only one side of the property is for outside sitting in the small grassed area. It faces onto the horse fields and gets the sunshine which is very pleasant. The property location is great for all the attractions and beautiful sceenery.
