What our customers say about their holidays

We had such a relaxing stay at The Chapel.
Comfortable bed and sofas, all you need in the kitchen and quality fittings throughout. Whilst the parking is on the road this did not cause any issues as there is plenty of space as The Chapel is at the edge of the village and the road is really quiet as it is only local traffic (you can go for 15mins in the day without seeing a car and even longer at night!). Great walks from the door, you can even walk to the beach. Lovely local dog friendly beaches and the area is really set up for walkers and dog owners. The only slight problem we had was the shared entrance path although that was only because next door left the gate open a few times although the garden itself is secure and, as I say, the road is really quiet â this, however, did not cause a problem and would not stop us returning to The Chapel. The Chapel was lovely and clean and has a neat, uncluttered finish which is easy to keep clean. Neil, the owner, was great and got back to us really quickly when we had a little query. Beautiful, unique property in a gorgeous, quiet setting and close to facilities should you need them.

Wayside is an incredible property.
From the outside it looks small but inside itâs extremely roomy with three large double bedrooms (one has twin beds but could easily fit another couple of beds as itâs so big). Unlike some holiday cottages, this feels like a home from home with beautiful furnishings in the large living room making it so cosy. The kitchen is well equipped meaning you donât need to take anything with you - nothing has been overlooked by an obviously very thoughtful owner. Iâve left the best until last - the views!! Spectacular views from every window in the house and garden, which backs onto a large field of free range chickens (we bought a dozen of their eggs and they were so tasty. There is a pub serving good food a few steps away and a railway station 2 minutes walk away that takes you to Whitby via some of the local villages. I cannot recommend this property enough. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

The cottage was very nice and very clean but if I had to put it down in any way then it would have to be the bathroom only because it has a bath tub but the shower couldnât be connected to the wall above so having to sit in the bath and then have a wash because the bath was not long enough to lay down but in the short stay we had then it was ok, The double bed was ok and beding was fine, Also maybe a few more teaspoons , but on the whole it was a good cottage and in the centre of all the places I did visit also the front door pvc has dropped a little bit and needs adjusting but as I said it was a lovely cottage, Many thanks Colin Jenkins Who stayed august 25 th to 30th i other thing is that itâs a bit early to have to leave the cottage at 9am and should be around noon

We had a lovely three-night stay.
The cottage is bursting with original character of its age; slightly wonky stairs, the old stove in the bedroom and tiny windows looking out on the square. It takes you back in time somewhat. The central location was really great, we based our days from the house and walked everywhere from there. The bed was really comfortable and we slept very well indeed! Parking was a mild inconvenience being a 1/2 mile walk away, and I had to do a few loops to find a suitable spot, but it was minor in relation to the positives. That said, I expect that if we had gone at a busier time of year, this could have been more of an issue, and for that reason alone, I would opt for parking included if we ever returned during peak time.

We had a most wonderful week at Wayside.
The cottage was beautiful and roomy, warm and comfortable with the added bonus of the wood burner. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed and the downstairs bedroom most comfortable. Wayside is dog friendly with bowls and doggy towel available. The one small thing, which I did mention to the owner was maybe upgrading the TV to a smart telly. With most people having access to subscription services I do think it would be a positive especially on long winter nights. Parking is tight at the back of the property but we parked on the main road right opposite the cottage which was much more convenient. Wayside is a delight and we have already booked another stay.
