What our customers say about their holidays

Disappointed to provide some of this feedback as we had a lovely time and for the most part, our experience was positive.
My only negative feedback is that the photos of the interior donât reflect the cabin we stayed in (Valley View). I suspect these photos are of the newer cabins which are behind Valley View, or very old photos. Ours was more drab than these photos indicate, with a stained rug and settee and faded bedding and towels, so felt that it was a tad overpriced for what we paid (£806.00 for one week). The bed is a different one from the one on the photos and parts of the interior are painted, not just varnished wood. There was also a dishwasher instead of a washing machine, which wasn't much use as we used too few pots to merit loading it, but there was no scourer/sponge to wash the few pots that we used. Also only one toilet roll provided for two guests for a week. Granted we could have bought a scourer and we did buy toilet roll, but for the price we paid, they could provide a new scourer for every new guest, and sufficient toilet roll. Also a bugbear of mine - empty and clean the loo brush holder! Another issue is that when searching for the accommodation, I ticked âhot tubâ (which it has) and âNear a pub.â Unfortunately the nearest pubs are approx 2 miles away, so not exactly walking distance to nip into the town in the evening, have something to eat and a couple of drinks, and walk back along a not very will lit road, in the dark. There are two taxis, however we were only successful once in actually getting one - no answer; didnât reply to text; straight to voicemail; no call back when message left, fully booked⦠That said, the cabin was very clean and the bed comfortable. The views are stunning, the hot tub was fabulous and we got a lot of use out of it. Suggestion to owners - a portable canopy or something so it can be used when there's light rain but it's not cold? It also appears to be on a private road, so we rarely saw any other vehicles, so very secluded and peaceful. There are plenty of pubs in the town most, if not all, of which do food. There is also a Spar and a Co-op, a couple of cafes and a couple of takeaways. We did hire hybrid bikes from Clive Powellâs in the town, but if you require hybrids, book in advance as they only have two. They do have other bikes for hire. We did the Elan Valley trail, to and along the reservoirs (approx 17 mile round trip) which was very enjoyable (which can be done on foot, if you prefer walking to cycling). There are also some nice local walks. We also drove to Devilâs Bridge falls, which is worth a trip out. So overall, a positive experience and I would recommend it for a nice, peaceful break, with the right weather. Some tips - to find it, input Mid Wales View into Google maps. Also, when on St Harmon Rd/B4518, look for a mobile mast on the right. Take first left shortly after the mast, for the cabins. There's a small sign which says GELLILAS. Valley View is the first cabin on the right.

I got there to find the cottage dubble booked and I couldnât get the owners to answer the phone and the Sykes was closed for the day so I was sitting there with no holiday I eventually got through to the owner and they offered me alternative accommodation but it was I bit difecault for me to get up and down the steps but it was ok on the Saturday I was waiting to get the go ahead to stay in the other cottage and I got through to Sykes and they told me I would get a refund for the Friday and that was that so I got to the other cottage and it was beutfull very nice so I had my holiday and came back home and noticed my offer of a refund was not in my account so I called Sykes and they told me because I was upgraded to a better cottage I would not get the refund so I just say what would have happened if there wasnât another cottage for me and I would have lost my holiday and had to travel back home which is 6 hours away I Iâm disabled so wasnât happy with this

This site is a little gem that i would love to keep secret, but I'm afraid i won't be able to, we had the cabin called "valley view" and that describes it perfectly, the view is breathtaking!
!!, open the cabin doors in the morning and you see the valley slowly bathing itself in sun light, and the sunsets from the hot tub are some of the best I've seen, the solitude is only broken by the nearby sheep, the cabin is well equipped with everything you may need, the garden is secure if you have pets with you, but what makes this small friendly site is the owners, only a call away if needed, it is run by a farming family and one of them is always around if needed, they all genuinely care about you and your happiness, a special mention must go to Alex the handyman, who would stand and chat all day long if you let him, a couple of touristy things you must do are a drive up the Elan valley and a visit to the red kite feeding station, i have had some great holidays in the past but this one has blown me away, will defiantly be back soon, thanks Dan and family you are doing an exceptional job

The Finest Stays Team - Verified booking
From the moment we arrived at Firefly Cabin, we knew we had discovered a true gem. Nestled in the heart of rolling hills in the Devon countryside it captures the essence of tranquility and an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of our stay was the outdoor experience. The fire pit, set under a canopy of stars, provided the perfect setting for our evening gatherings. We spent countless hours sharing stories, roasting marshmallows, and basking in the glow of the crackling fire. It was a magical way to unwind and connect with each other. The hot tub, however, was the crown jewel. Soaking in the warm, bubbling waters while listening to the gentle sounds of nature was pure bliss. It was an unforgettable experience that left us feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Valley View was everything we had hoped it would be and more!
The scenery and views are incredible and the peace and quiet was spot on! Jake was always on hand if we needed him - like for building a fire - Thanks Jake : ) We drove to Elan Valley and did the National Park walk about 2 miles down the road and it was stunning. Perfect for the dogs too - they loved the freedom of the fields. My only suggestion would be that unfortunately one of our dogs likes to do his own thing and as our cabin wasn't gated off, we had to keep him on a lead at home or inside the cabin when we were in the hot tub. Other than that I would recommend this to anyone! I have put pictures on my instagra account and have had so many people wanting the details! We will definitely be returning to this little bit of Welsh paradise! Thanks so much!
