  What we would have put in the visitor's book is - the cottage was well appointed, clean, comfortable, the open plan layout downstairs works very well and the outdoor space at the rear was nice and private, a good place for breakfasts and for a "sundowner". As for Burnham Market itself, it's a lovely village with quite a few thriving independent shops, we'd recommend Gurney's fishmongers, the Humble Pie delicatessen and Arthur Howell's butchers, we had a lovely meal at the Hoste Arms. A walk around "The Burnhams" straight from the doorstep is a particular delight at any time of the day - approx 4 or 5 miles depending on what route you take. Burnham Market is a great base for exploring the North Norfolk coast with lots of places in easy reach. Holkham Hall, Park & Walled Garden, Sandringham, Brancaster, Wells, Blakeney and Sheringham Park are all recommended. Thanks for a lovely stay in North Norfolk.

  A really very impressive building to take in as to come up the drive. Set in beautiful parkland with a fantastic view down to a column and the sea beyond. But the properties main function was to be an entrance arch, so the accommodation was of secondary importance when it was first built. So some aspects are a compromise. Low door heights, very steep, very narrow 32 step, stone spiral stairs. If you have a dog you will probably need to carry them both up and down these steps. The drive through the Arch is a public road, so expect normal road traffic, cyclists and dog walkers to be coming through on a regular basis, which is a bit of a let down if you were expecting privacy.   We loved the little barn and found it such a pleasing place to stay in. We kept finding new clever things which had been done. It was very comfortable and very peaceful indeed and the information was all at hand. We are both very elderly and some of the modern equipment needs puzzling out. We know N.Norfolk well, loved the primrose banks and the newly ploughed fields. Sadly our families were very worried about us with the coronavirus and we decided to leave 2 days early to calm them down... I think back on Wheelwrights barn with sadness and wonder in these hard times! So sorry we did not manage to set the alarm when leaving - but I did tell you as soon as we got home. We wish all of you at Norfolk Hideaways all the very best! Stay safe.

  This was an absolutely delightful find! Tucked away in the small hamlet of Sustead, off the beaten track, Wheelwright proved to be the perfect getaway for us and our dog! The barn was decorated and furnished to the highest of standards and the enclosed courtyard was a great addition for the dog! You do need to have a car in order to get out and about to explore the surrounding countryside and beaches, of which there are many. Also bring the daily supplies you need, as the nearest shop is a good ten minute drive away. It worked so well for us, we had a super relaxing week, walking and chilling. And the barn added to this beautifully.

  The Triumphal Arch, what a find! This place was stunning and beautifully located. I chose the Arch for my husbands 40th and it did not disappoint. The hamper on arrival was perfect, the decor tasteful and comfortable. We had an open fire going on our last night while we ate dinner and sipped Prosecco. We watched the sunset while the cows wondered near by. And we made the most of Holkham estate, walking, cycling and site seeing. We came home completely replenished. We would highly recommend.
